The location is super convenient (right off 495) and the schedule works really well for me. I emailed Lauren & was able to get set up with access to the online scheduler even before my first session. Super convenient! As far as classes go, I've only done the intro level, but give me a few weeks & I hope to be moving up. Even the intro level was a tough workout, and I definitely broke a sweat and had my legs shaking. Definitely an awesome workout, and I can't wait until I'm flying around like a rockstar!

They teach kids and adults and are super nice. Billing was pay half up front and pay the other half mid-year. Recital time will be in May / June. However, it appears that the studio is still run and owned by Robin. I have the most amazing memories from my time at WCDA, and for that I'm extremely grateful. I remember that the instructors were so kind, the studio itself was beautiful and in a great location, and the recitals were organized and well-produced. I praise WCDA for instilling a sense of positive self-esteem in their students and providing such a sacred space for creative self-expression. I'll never forget the pure joy and excitement I felt on the day prior to our recitals that they hung up the photos of our dance recital costumes we'd be wearing. So many sequins!

(If you want to tap dance to I'm a little teapot, go somewhere else.). The classes are mixed level, yet due to the smaller size, there is still quite a bit of individual instruction. The dancers support each other and value individual strengths. The studio is affiliated with Dance Prism, the local Professional Ballet Company, giving dancers of all ability the opportunity to perform professionally.

Only me and one other student showed up, and the place smelled like a sweat-fest (those ballerinas before us must have been workin' it). Teacher was casual, a very talented choreographer, and hungry because she kept going to the side of the studio to eat her dinner in between instructions. I didn't sweat (again, I think my body was tricked by the studio's aroma into thinking it wasn't necessary) but I did feel challenged by the routine. Only about 1/3 of the class time was dedicated to dancing; the rest was warm up moves, funkywalking across the floor, stretching, and ab exercises. The music choices were contemporary which was a plus. I would have liked to learn a longer routine than three counts of 8, but its all good.
