Things could be better- there were 3 exhibits that were broken. Also, there should be more cleaning. Most of their illusion relies on reflection. But with all the reachable mirrors being dirty, it looses its appeal. The staff was friendly, helpful and went around and showed guests how to interact with the exhibit and uphold the rules around no food/drinks. Overall, nice that Cleveland has something to draw people in, however with a bit of effort, it can even be better.

Wear comfortable shoes and come prepared for the experience. There are wall to wall vendors with a ton of people squeezing through the pathway. They have an area where live music is played. Food trucks are setup in this same area if you just need that. I say that because the restaurant vendors along the main walk more than satisfy any craving you could be having. There are stands with cocktails/beer and they even have a spiked bubble tea! Everything is really official. I will say bring cash. Some of the vendors take cards, and there are two ATMs that I counted, but they kept giving me error codes. It took multiple tries to get my actual cash. I'm not sure if this is the usual practice so beware. Parking was $10, but given the location free parking is definitely in walking distance. All in all a great time.

Why am I just getting out to Night Market?…read more Tips: BRING CASH Besides having no cash and walking half a mile to the nearest ATM, last night was a BLAST. So many booths of great product, food, and booze. So much Cleveland pride in one market. The food was mostly asian inspired, with the ocassional bakery. I found some cool stickers and magnets at Kay Em Apparel. Drank several Market Garden Brewery Octoberfests, and danced along to quality bands and even some hula inspired tunes. Yes, of course it was busy, but what do you expect? It's a quality market and anyone who likes a good time would get out to this place, especially since it's only 1 night a month! There's only one Night Market event left in September, and you better believe I'll be there!

The tour guide was very knowledgeable and seemed very invested in the history of the castle. Oh! My! The castle is rich in history. My guess is you could take three different tours and learn something new from each one. We were only allowed to take photos of the first floor. The other floors had Air BnB rooms. Everything from the paranormal phenomena to the tunnels from the carriage house to Lake Erie were fascinating.

The Victorian mansion is ornate and makes you feel the weight of its history. The ornate stonework, hidden passageways, and eerie ambiance all add to its mysterious charm. It's definitely picture-worthy whether you're walking by or walking in. The event organizers were friendly. I was at the castle for pop art show held by Zack Webb. It was so fun to see the juxtaposition of history/antique and bright pop art. There was no guided tour, just a hang out in the main area of the house, and basement lounge (both very cool). If you're into history, architecture, or the paranormal, Franklin Castle is a must-see. Although I didn't see or feel any ghosts. It's equal parts creepy and captivating. Whether you're a Clevelander or a visitor, go see it!

They're all owned by passionate, cool locals who believe in what they do. But mostly, this update is just to show appreciation for a few things I often forget about Hingetown- how dog-friendly every business is, the beautifully manicured living wall, and the fact that the Transformer Station (a satellite CMA location) even exists here. I mean, where else can you pet tons of good doggos, see world class art and grab lunch? Since the last time I wrote this, new businesses like Larder Delicatessen, Saucy Brew Works and Title Kickboxing have opened. Note: if you have trouble with sensory overload, this is probably not the place for you. Almost every inch of the place is covered with random decor; the ceiling even sports a kiddie pool & turtle sandbox. I could sit and look at the walls for quite a while. But the reason to go is for pinball. So many different types - Simpsons, Venom, Elvira, Iron Maiden, Game of Thrones & best of all - Bad Cats! I just live the variety. One day maybe I'll know what I'm doing. Note #2: This is not a place for food. There are plenty of good restaurants in the area. They were smart not to mix food with pinball. I had family in town and their only request was to see the Rock Hall, so I made it happen. They are currently doing construction and we had to enter in a different entrance. The staff was so nice. The exhibits were informative and there was so much to see and learn. The interactive sound lab was a hit for young and old alike. I will be back, especially after the 2026 induction occurs and the exhibits change again. The gift shop was so fun also.

And at first, the SNL feature on the bottom floor was cool-- it was fun to see costumes from the Blues Brothers, Wayne's World, etc. But it was so, SO crowded. There was almost no possibility of getting close enough to actually look at or read anything. At the same time, we were often pushed by the crowd into areas/displays we really didn't care about. Very frustrating. On the upstairs floors--well, there's not a lot. I took pictures of Kurt Cobain's busted guitar and a couple of Ozzy's coats. The rest was just-- meh. The gift shop was pretty extensive, but again too crowded. I don't expect a private experience or anything, but being able to look at merch without being touched would be preferable. Again, I'm sad because I wanted to love it. But I did not.
