A brief background to my visit: Since previous visits had been fairly good, I returned and had a cast taken of my upper set of teeth in preparation for a mouth guard. The nurse was so intent on rectifying her mistake that she attempted to wrench the cast off my teeth too early, resulting in an injury that took months (and two doctors visits, ie two co-pays) to heal. Fast forward to my latest visit (I know I could have found another dentist, but I tend to give folks the benefit of the doubt). My dental hygienist was apparently a replacement. I informed her of the problem with my mouth, but this was ignored. On multiple occasions, dental tools 'slipped' and ended up hitting my cheek, chin, etc. To cap it all off, when told by the dentist that she needed to use a particular tool to remove coffee stains, one which she had not used before, she made an audible comment to her colleague, 'it's removing SOME of it.' Some of it? So I am paying for incomplete service? How about I only pay SOME of my bill? Interestingly enough, that is another matter. When I questioning what had resulted in a $50 charge on my statement that I did not recognize, I was told that it related to a missed appointment from my wife, and that if two people were under the same plan and lived at the same address, it was policy to send out one statement. Now I don't know if that is in contravention of HIPAA rules (I believe it is), but is certainly MOST unethical. Over the years, one of the biggest concerns I noticed was the frequent change of dentists. My treatment passed from one dentist to another, and unfortunately, when a serious problem eventually developed, that lack of continuity became extremely important. When I was treated by Dr. Sardora, I specifically discussed my concerns about what would happen if there were problems after the treatment. At the time, I was reassured that they would take good care of me if anything happened afterward. That reassurance was one of the reasons I trusted the practice and moved forward with significant dental work, including a dental bridge. Unfortunately, when problems later developed and Dr. Lee was handling my case, the response was completely different. I was told that the work was beyond a one-year warranty period and that the office would not be responsible for it. I was honestly shocked by that response. This was not a small or temporary dental procedure. This was a dental bridge. Even my dental insurance generally only covers replacement of this type of major restorative work after a much longer interval, yet I was being told that after just over a year, the practice no longer considered itself responsible for addressing the problem. What makes this experience even more upsetting is what I am dealing with now. Because of the complexity of the existing dental work and the problems that need to be corrected, I am now having an extremely difficult time finding another dentist willing to take over my case. I have been left searching for someone who is willing and qualified to deal with the situation and determine how my teeth can be properly restored. For me, this is much bigger than whether a dental office technically offers a one-year "warranty." My concern is about continuity of care and accountability. Patients undergoing major restorative treatment should understand what happens if the dentist who performed the work leaves the practice, who takes responsibility for follow-up care, and what the practice will do if serious problems develop later. After being a patient here for years, trusting the practice through multiple changes of dentists, and relying on the reassurance I was originally given, I found the way my situation was ultimately handled extremely disappointing and unacceptable. The situation became serious enough that I filed a formal complaint with the Pennsylvania Department of State regarding my experience. I am sharing this review because I genuinely wish I had understood these issues before agreeing to major dental work here. If you are considering crowns, bridges, implants, or other extensive restorative treatment at this practice, I strongly recommend getting a second opinion and asking--in writing--exactly who will be responsible for your care if complications develop after treatment or if your treating dentist leaves the practice. Unfortunately, I am now the one left trying to find another doctor willing to help fix a very complicated dental situation.

I asked why we weren't just proceeding with the crown if that was the more reliable option, but rather than clearly addressing my concern, the dentist kept repeating himself without actually answering my question. As I attempted to clarify my concerns, namely, that I didn't want to pay for two procedures if a crown was ultimately necessary, I felt dismissed. I even said it felt like I was being gaslit because my questions were not being answered directly. Only then did he explain that he was confident in the treatment plan and had only been presenting a "what if" scenario. I appreciated the clarification and told him I understood, and he apologized for the earlier confusion. He then numbed my mouth with a lidocaine injection and left the room. A few minutes later, the office manager came in to tell me the dentist would not be performing the treatment due to what they considered "hostile language." I was completely shocked. I had asked valid questions about my care and tried to understand my options, this should never be labeled as hostile behavior. What's even more upsetting is that they numbed me before informing me they wouldn't continue with treatment. That felt both unprofessional and unnecessary. I will not be returning to this office. Patients have every right to ask questions and seek clarity about their treatment plans. If a provider cannot handle that, it may be time to re-evaluate their approach to patient care.

First issue is that I never approved sealant and the second issue is that I took the kids to another dentist afterwards to check the work and unfortunately there were only four teeth with remnant of sealant and nothing else. Sealant usually last for years if they were placed in the first place. If this is not highway robbery I don't know what is. If I tell you I was taken advantage of that would be an understatement. It's sad to see a supposedly professional office Fraudulently charged clients for work that has not been rendered. I had to get the sealant thrdone at another dentist. Also charged me for x-rays for my wife that they have never provided me copy of even though I specifically asked them for copy of all x-rays.

First of all, I asked if my insurance would cover my regular dental checkup and was told it would. I in fact discovered after the fact that this office was out of network, which led me to incur personal expenses out of pocket. As these are almost always avoidable, I found this very disappointing. Second, I was given an XRay without being warned of the possibility that I would have to pay out of pocket for it. Apparently the XRay that was provided was a special type of XRay that is only covered for me once every few years, while a normal XRay would have been covered. I'm disappointed that I was not informed about this, as it would have saved me literally hundreds of dollars. Third, I discovered that the office never filed a claim with my insurance provider, meaning I wasn't going to receive even a partial reimbursement from my insurance. It wasn't until 7 weeks later when I inquired about the status of my case that the admins at Omene filed this claim. The dental practice itself seems to be high quality but given that I've never had so many problems on the administrative side before, I felt that this was a fair score.

At the first appointment, only my left side was treated. Yet somehow, the billing code submitted reflected treatment on the right side. When I pointed this out, I was casually told it was "fine" since I'd be returning to complete the other side anyway. Apparently, documentation accuracy is optional here. Two months later, I noticed a $225 charge on my credit card that I never authorized nor was notified about. This included an additional $200 for my first deep cleaning visit (on top of the $300 I had already paid) and $25 for initial films they had "forgotten" to charge me for earlier. What was characterized as a "minor" error by the office wasn't minor at all. Because they submitted the wrong films (a direct result of their incorrect documentation), my insurance claim was denied, leaving me responsible for the majority of the visit cost. No one from the office contacted me to explain the issue. My card was simply charged. After multiple calls over three months and repeated promises to "look into it," nothing has been resolved. The error may have been theirs, but the burden was mine: time, phone calls, and weeks of unnecessary back-and-forth. At my most recent visit, I proactively confirmed with my insurance that I was eligible for a covered routine cleaning. I walked in confident. I was immediately told I owed $68. After questioning it, I was informed this was actually for a prior follow-up visit that was never collected at the time. Interesting how these forgotten balances only seem to surface long after the fact, and always in their favor. After my cleaning, I was presented with a total of $113: $68 for "periodontal maintenance" and $45 for an "optional" mouth rinse. This rinse was applied without explanation, discussion of cost, or the minor detail of my consent. Not only was I never told my visit would be coded as periodontal maintenance instead of a routine cleaning, but when I called my insurance, they confirmed the copay should have been $50, not $68. So even the surprise charges were inflated. As a healthcare provider myself, I find this particularly concerning. I ensure that I document the correct laterality before amputating a limb. I obtain consent before initiating procedures. I discuss options. I answer questions patiently. I make sure my patients understand what they are receiving and what they are being billed for. That's called standard of care. At this point, the pattern of incorrect documentation, unauthorized credit card charges, creative coding, and inconsistent copays feels less like oversight and more like strategy. The front desk staff also appear visibly irritated when asked basic billing questions, as though transparency is an unreasonable request. Patients should not have to audit their dental office after every visit. I cannot recommend this practice and will absolutely not be returning.
