I had the luxury of having Michelle as my doula during my second pregnancy. This was my first time…read morehaving a doula and I wanted to have one because I did not want to use pain medications and wanted a some to guide me through the laboring process. I had 4 prenatal and 3 post-partum visits. I was a little anxious and unsure of what to expect, but all of my concerns disappeared once I began working with Michelle. For me, she embodies all of the qualities of an exceptional doula. During my perinatal visits, we discussed my expectations and wishes for my birth through an intake process and developed a birth plan. We practiced laboring positions and explored a variety of pain-relieving techniques that I would be comfortable with such as TENS, aromatherapy, massages, affirmations, etc. I especially valued the fact that she taught my husband how to support me and assist me throughout labor during our perinatal visits. This was crucial for me since I wanted my husband to be actively involved in the birth. We also discussed the difference between pain vs. suffering and being proactive in voicing my concerns. When I was stressing about being induced because I was past my due date, she came over and had me do some mindful meditation and relaxation. I went into labor 2 days later! My goal during my birth was to not take pain medication, in particularly an epidural. I am happy to report that I succeeded. During my 17 hours of labor, she was calming and provided continuous support, while also providing hands-on support and comfort measures. Michelle also coached my husband during the labor provide to meet my needs. In order to help me, she collaborated successfully with my labor and delivery nurses and worked with them as a team. Throughout my labor, Michelle's gentle maternal spirit by my side me feel nurtured and protected. I truly believe that my wishes would have not materialized if not for her. More importantly, Michelle supported me throughout my postpartum period as well. She helped by assisting with my newborn daughter, organizing my house, watching over my son, folding laundry, among other things. But an even greater gift was she also gave me advice on how to safeguard my mental health. As someone who suffered from postpartum depression, it was comforting to know that she cared. I could go on and on about how grateful I am to have had Michelle as my doula but that would take ages. All in all she provided me with so much more to my birth experience than I could have ever imagined. She embodies the traits that will help all expecting mothers to have all of the spiritual, physical, and emotional support for a successful delivery. I could not have asked for a more perfect doula.

Now, he sings nothing but praises and advocates for doulas. Having Lindsey with us provided us a sense of calm - someone who could advocate for us, help translate, and coach both of us - especially when decisions had to be made. She was also there for us the weeks before offering support and guidance all along the way. It was truly incredible to have someone on your team. The childbirth classes beforehand were also personalized for my husband and I and discussed not only physical, but emotional aspects of labor and delivery. All of the other sessions we had with Bonnie and Lindsey (Newborn Care Class, Postpartum planning, etc.) were extremely helpful in prepping for such a big change in our lives. Plus the connections Coastal Doulas offers such as lactation support and pelvic floor have helped during recovery immensely. But she is by far the most caring, loving and amazing woman out there. She helped us so much during pregnancy but mostly during labor and delivery. After 24 hours of contractions and talking with Bonnie throughout those 24 hours we decided it was time for her to come over. She came over and stayed with us right by our side, helping mostly my wife through each contraction offering suggestions, position changes, essential oil's and other natural remedies to help ease the discomfort. She ended up staying with us for an additional 30 hours, even when we had to transfer last minute to the hospital. We are so grateful to Bonnie for everything that she did for us and continues to do. I feel that her knowledge of pregnancy labor and delivery exceeded most professionals and even submit wives that we spoke too. She knows the inns and outs of hospitals and procedures and helped us out tremendously after we had to transfer and didn't know anything about hospital procedures since we were planning a homebirth. I would hire Bonnie again in a heartbeat. Thank you again so much for everything you did for our new family!

It felt like I had someone in my corner every step of the way, and that kind of support is priceless. From start to finish, your service was exceptional. Everything was professional, organized, and handled with so much heart. You didn't just do your job--you genuinely cared about our family and our experience, and we felt that in every interaction. And then there are the photographs... I honestly don't have enough words. They are one of the greatest gifts we could have asked for. You captured the emotions, the strength, the love between my husband and me, and the beautiful moment we met our daughter, Naya, for the very first time. Palms Birth House made all the difference in the world. We can't say enough how (1) personal and friendly the front office staff was (they know your name when you call and are INCREDIBLY responsive!) (2) how patient and kind Elizabeth, the midwife, was at every visit (she spends as much time with you as you need, there's no rush to get you out the door) and (3) how professional and calm Elizabeth was during our fast-middle of the night-on a holiday-home birth. We wanted to have an experience birthing our son that felt natural and with as little intervention as possible and we had just that. At every step Elizabeth had the perfect answer for any question or concern that I brought to her or stories of friends birthing issues that I was concerned about. She was easily able to express how she would handle those moments if we found ourselves there. Throughout the pregnancy she was relaxed and gave us all the information to make the decisions we needed to make without making us feel stressed or imposed upon. We laughed at every visit and looked forward to seeing them all even though it was a 35 minute drive from our home in Jupiter! From my very first call, when Tiffany answered, she was full of helpful information and that's remained true to this day. Everyone goes above and beyond. It is nothing like an experience you would have at a doctor's office where the wait times are long and they have you in and out quickly. The service is so personalized it's truly amazing. My mom could never get over how long Elizabeth spent with us at each check up. If we have more children it will definitely be with them and I highly recommend it to any mama looking to bring baby into the world in a most loving and tender but also intelligent and safe environment!
