The teachers and director blamed it on my child, saying I needed to find him a therapist that would go and watch him to show them how to do their job and teach him not to get out. They went as far as saying it's a behavior issue. After this happened, I spoke to whom I thought was the owner, he appologized and said he would child proof the gate, aknowledging the fact that a 2 1/2yr old should not be able to open it and get out. This "child proofing" never happened, I followed my instinct and took him out of this place. Definitely not ever going to recommend this place.

The staff has been consistently unprofessional, and when I raised valid concerns about my child's care as well as other children's, they were dismissed as "complaining" rather than being properly investigated. Her daycare contract ended 7/31 and I wasn't notified till 8/6/2025 and was told she couldn't return unless the EECED could issue a contract by 8/8/2025 One of my biggest concerns was that my daughter was mishandled by a teacher, and despite reporting this, the staff member remained employed, and I received no meaningful follow-up. I've witnessed staff yanking children by the arms, yelling in their faces, and slamming and pushing on tables leaving children to cry for hours completely inappropriate and unacceptable behavior around young children. Additionally, there are serious hygiene concerns. They wouldn't change gloves or even wipe down the changing table during changes, My daughter would often come home with rashes, and it was clear that diaper changes were not being done regularly.I also observed a lack of proper sanitary procedures, including throwing food into the trash and then serving the plate to the child, spraying cleaning solution on the table while children are still eating which is deeply troubling. When asked if we could potty train our almost 2 year old I was advised not to by admin as they do not have proper staff and couldn't accommodate as she didn't want to have to hire additional staff. They currently have a high turnover. Staff consistently has their phones out during wake times and nap time. There is no consistent communication between parents and teachers, and safety protocols (such as moving tables while children are seated) are not followed. They don't have no structure and let the kids run wild despite saying they are teaching an age appropriate curriculum based daycare. My daughter has had to be rushed to the ER as they had her foot in a string tourniquet from her sock for hours and didn't check her foot we were told she just could put weight on her foot and was exhausted from crying. We called to check in and Admin wasn't even aware of the situation she was just crying uncontrollably and no staff checked her foot despite not being able to put weight on the foot. On Monday her eyes were swollen and red from crying for over an hour with out consoling or helping her re-regulate. I wouldn't recommend this establishment to anyone

Coming from a law enforcement back ground, I am always protective. I was happy to find Covenant and knew immediately that's where we belonged. Some of their many strong points are; Cleanliness, secure, communicate (Brightwheel, which they actually use almost every few hours!), kind, loving towards the kids... In particular, Joy (the Director) is top notch. On our first week she personally called me to let me know my daughter was doing okay. They genuinely care about their family's. I cant speak higher of Covenant Del Norte.

My oldest daughter, Dasia went on to graduate with honors from Brooklyn Technical High School and Amherst College. She got her Masters from Wake Forest and will be pursuing her PHD. My daughter Alasia went to Midwood HS and graduated at 20 with her Bachelors in Bioengineering from Michigan State University. She just completed her Masters at NYU. They went when they were very young and even though they don't remember things like going to their first protest (w/ the students of UNM protesting the Invasion of Iraq in '03) or to Disneyland, they both remember Our Montessori and the wonderful teachers, especially Ms. Belinda and Mr. Chris. They remember the school down to details like the fishtank, the classrooms decorated with planets and red bicycles. When I told Alasia I spoke with Ms. Roxanne, she asked "Wow, does she remember us?" I told her yes and her face lit up. I would recommend this school to every parent. The staff is attentive, genuinely love teaching and are dedicated to the mission of Montessori. In NYC, I would have never been able to afford to send my daughters to a school like this. Ms. Roxanne's explanation of why she chose to structure Our Montessori as it is in order to make it accessible to all children regardless of socioeconomic background was heartwarming and inspirational. I went on to work in special education in NYC and I hope to design a Montessori program exactly like Our Montessori in honor of the great work they've done. I wholeheartedly recommend this school and look forward to reading all of the alumni stories of achievement to come!

She is hardly ever in the office, and almost impossible to get a hold of to conduct business with. No members of the staff respect her- and this lack of respect aides in the unhappiness atmosphere of this day care. Although the kitchen staff is quite friendly- none of the food your child will be eating is flavorful or nutritious. Much of it is plastic wrapped pancakes, burritos and I have even seen reheated pizza for breakfast the next day. We ultimately left the day care after our child began having melt downs in the morning's when left with a specific teacher. Another child in the same class was so afraid of "said teacher" that she would wet herself when her mother tried to leave her. Needless to say, they no longer attend little Sunbeams either. Save yourself and your child a ton of frustrations and heartache by choosing another daycare!! And to the daycare board- I hope that you can re-create the loving healthy atmosphere Ms. Renee brought to the daycare, by bringing in a new director.

My 5 year-old son has been attending Little Sunbeams since he was 1 1/2. I drop him off each…read moremorning and know that he will be well tended to and loved. I am so happy that we have a home at Little Sunbeams. We have made great relationships with the other families and the teachers. At each step of his development I can easily say that he was/is in a safe, age-appropriate, caring and inviting place for hands-on-learning and growth. He loves to go to school (Little Sunbeams) and has a variety of friends from Chef John, Brennan in the morning, the Dance teacher on Thursday, Tracey B, Pastor Greg and the Scott in Tuesday chapel, all the teachers, and of course his classmates - all who help form this rich environment. In the past 4 years the center has had changes in staff, as do all business, but I can honestly say that every person who has contact with us or with my son truly has his and our best interest at heart. Renee, the Director, and various teachers throughout our tenure have visited with us to be sure that we are all on the same page. If it is working together on potty training, sitting still in circle time, or how to encourage writing/fine motor skills or it is important that we are all working together for our children's development. Bumps, bruises and spills are inevitable and my experience has been that the staff err on the side of caution and often phone to ensure that a parent is properly notified of anything out of the norm while immediately tending to the child. There is always a written form documenting the incident. We have brought various concerns - either about something with my child or policies at the center- to Renee and/or to our teacher and have felt that we are heard and that we are working together to help my child be both a good little person and developmentally sound. Praise and love are apparent everywhere, but I also appreciate the boundaries and consequences when they are needed. We just received our acceptance letter from Manzano Day School for Kindergarten next year and are sad to be leaving Little Sunbeams in August, but very excited to know that he will be well-prepared for his next chapter in life.
