Even when I didn't particularly like a dish, I couldn't actually fault how it was made. I have yet to try the buffet because the menu is so affordable and full of interesting delightful dishes! I could not praise the food enough. And the price point is frankly unbeatable. But the service! Today, my party of three went in right around opening time. There were only a few parties. We were told we could sit wherever we wanted. We put in an order. Over an hour later - literally, not exaggerating - still no food. I have seen a table seated after us receive their dishes. A waitress comes over - is she going to apologize? No, she's going to reseat us at a worse table and leave. I don't care about being reseated, but she jetted off before anyone could ask where our food was. Another waitress came back to inform us they could not make half the food we ordered. No alternative was suggested. Just "We're not making that, we're out." They couldn't tell us that right when we ordered? We came just as they opened, how were they out? It took an hour to figure out that they couldn't complete our meal? We substituted two other dishes. Eventually our half order came out and we asked for plates - this has never been a problem in the past. The waitress said "Yes of course!" and then ignored the request entirely. We waited another ten minutes or so before one of our party just went and grabbed what we needed from the buffet area. Our substitute dishes came out almost immediately - making me think our first try ordering wasn't even communicated in the first place. An earlier time we arrived and were asked to wait until a table opened up for us. We waited. And waited. And stood waiting. Staring at the man who told us to wait. He never said anything to us again, another waitress came out confused as to why we were waiting and seated us. There were plenty of empty tables in the back, and we hadn't seen anyone leave. Maybe a half hour after taking our order someone told us part of our order was "too difficult to make." The first time we went, the waitress didn't keep track of our order and didn't know what was on the menu, so at the register we had to take a menu out and read out what we got. Another staff member was just seated staring at her and didn't help. The staff seems to consist of one professional waitress and people who just seem to be helping out. I have no idea what the kitchen is like - it must be chaos if they lose orders for hours at a time. The food really is amazing though. Come, and if they're busy get the buffet. If it's a little dead try out the menu. Don't expect professional service or apologies for anything that goes wrong.

They combine all-you-can-eat style with a diverse menu, small portions so it's difficult to over-order, and of course low prices. Quality of nigiri suffers a bit because of this, but this should be anticipated at this price point. You fill out a form indicating what number of what dishes you'd like, hand it to a member of the waitstaff, and they bring your order out to your table. You repeat until you're done or until the time limit is up (I think around two hours). Waitstaff is prompt and friendly! Very eager to accommodate! Dinner service is slightly more expensive, but has more options. To think of this as only a sushi restaurant is definitely a mistake. They have so many options (the octopus balls, all of their tempura, grilled squid, duck, frog legs, and marinated tofu are all big favorites of mine). I eat here very regularly and I'm still discovering new favorites! Price and style should be considered before you try this place out though - if you're coming for a small meal you're in the wrong place (it's an all-you-can-eat restaurant, obviously) and if you're expecting word class quality then you need to go to a more expensive restaurant - it's a very affordable meal and the quality reflects - and sometimes exceeds - the price point accordingly. Very friendly, patient and knowledgeable. The food was espetacular. The vegetarian sushi with cucumber, quinoa abs jalapeño was one of the best vegetarian sushi I ever had. The drinks were beautiful and had a fantastic taste. The place is very nicely decorated with a modern, cozy style! Will definitely go back when in Belgium again!

Tal van huwelijksfeesten, communiefeesten, familiefeesten, recepties en familiale of zakelijke diners vonden en vinden nog steeds plaats in Kasteel Fruithof. Al snel werd duidelijk dat ongedwongen genieten van de tuin en het park van Kasteel Fruithof gecombineerd met een simpel drankje en een kleine snack een steeds weerkerende vraag was. Vanuit dit oogpunt besliste Pater Familias, vader Onzea zaliger, het koetshuis van Kasteel Fruithof om te bouwen tot een bistro. Mei 1998, De Jongste Telg, het kleine broertje van Kasteel Fruithof werd geboren. Van bij de start (we waren er rotsvast van overtuigd, twijfelden eigenlijk niet) was dit het schot in de roos. Snel ontdekte men deze schitterende locatie, bij mooi weer werkelijk een 'place m'a tu vu'. Elk jaar opnieuw groeien en investeren wij nu om onze 'Telg' nog attractiever te maken.
