The room was ok THE BEDS ARE AWFUL, nothing to wright home to mama about for the price you would think there would be a comfortable bed to sleep in & breakfast in the morning! ABSOLUTEY NOT. this place is sooo outdated ( thats an understatement) we went to rent golf carts that was a no buano as well. for the price of the room a golf cart should have come with the room especially with all the walking. we could not enjoy it, we have bad knees and back and was wanting to go ride around the trails BUT AGAIN NOPE. so we stayed in the room and the kids went to the pool. WE WONT BE DOING THIS AGAIN for the price you should be paying us to stay!

I ditched the rent-a-car and walked along the Ohio River through a park on the way to my gig. The park where they hold the WC Handy Blues festival - hope to get back there for that one day! Coy (the owner) was very accomodating. Breakfast was always very good, downstairs in the dining room. Quiet, spacious, with a full kitchenette. Wifi worked well. Price is competitive to mid-priced hotels, which you would have to drive 20-30 mins to Evansville for. Hope to go back with my wife sometime.

The house and garden are surrounded by trees so you feel like you are staying in the forest. It's only a few miles away from Garden of the Gods and other hiking trails in Shawnee. It is run by a lovely older woman named Sona. She is amazing and made the most delicious pancakes for breakfast! The house is immaculately clean and no detail was spared in giving it a cozy country home feel. If you are traveling to So. Illinois for the wine trails, House of Nahum is about 40 miles east of the wine trails, but we were able to find the place using GPS after leaving the wineries after dark without a problem.
