It may be common knowledge to some but I was unaware of the parking policy. If there were posted signs, they definitely weren't posted for someone like me, visiting for the first time. First time on this campus, trying to follow the flow of traffic while trying to read names of buildings, without running anyone over. I definitely recommend visiting the website for the campus FIRST before a first time visit. There is detailed information on everything you would want to know. Definitely my bad for not taking my own advice before going. Aside from my request for flashing neon billboards at each and every turn telling me where to go, The campus is beautiful and well laid out. The staff in the area were very accommodating in helping me in the right direction to where I needed to go. May the Gods be ever in your favor.

Campus housing feels like barracks or a jail with old cement block walls and super loud AC units that don't really adjust and are temperamental. They are either ice cold or off. There doesn't seem to be any in between. If you are planning a conference, don't expect the facilities to let you actually use the space you rented after hours. They turn the AC off at 6 and lock the doors, even though you've paid for that time. If you attend this school, find housing off campus and eat somewhere else. The amenities you might expect from a 1st in Nation hospitality program aren't reflected here.

Let's face it...it's UNLV…read more Nothing against UNLV, but it just isn't a high level university. It's good for Nevada, because its the highest level of education available to the people of this state. It just isnt at that elite level. I have been to multiple colleges across the country (due to work), and they have some holes that need to be worked out.

We visited other universities in Cali but it was just either to high paced or too low pace. He received an invitation for UNLV and we knew after visiting the school it was a perfect fit. Even though he would be leaving Cali he was still close enough to fly in. Dr. Hanson and his staff are wonderful, he has been of great support as well as a mentor to Timmy. Currently Timmy is home for the summer and will be starting his Sophomore year in the winter. I never worried about him being at UNLV for they have an awesome police force and actually considering it is Las Vegas very little crime. The worst that happened this year a few bikes were stolen and a few cars got broken into. Thank you again to Mrs. Kate Snow in admissions, she was totally professional and provided excellent communication so our transition from Cali to UNLV was smooth. If you are looking for a school that is diverse, offers opportunity, great price and most of all the PEOPLE OF LAS VEGAS are so nice where everyone is very friendly from the stores to the restaurants.

They unlock a new module over the weekend, but if you are pro-active and complete the quizes or discussion board before your scheduled zoom meetings, you will lose 4 out of the 5 hours of documented homework time. Furthermore, if you call and ask around the office about an issue, there is no guarantee that the will bother to help you. The instructor made an error on the attendance sheet, forgetting to put the time out before submitting it, causing everyone in the class to get 15 minutes of the 5 hours of lab time on their official grades. It was only corrected because I said something, we submitted an amendment form weeks ago, and after following up I was told they are still working on fixing it. Here we are almost a month later and the correct times have not been adjusted. I haven't missed a regularly scheduled zoom meeting with my instructor, I haven't missed a single Lab day, but because my instructor gives students every opportunity to not succeed, I only have partial attendance credit. I get there before my teacher, am always ready to learn and work my hardest , but everytime I ask my teacher what's going on, I am told "It was covered in the syllabus, you should know this." Funny thing is I call the support line for help, use their virtual assistance on their student portal, and nobody seems to know anything. The instructor has even said " I don't know why it's not working, you will have to meet with someone during business hours." My Disappointment of the institution can not be stated enough. DO not go to this school for Electrical Technician training. I was lied to and told there was an Extension Program for on the job training. After signing the payment agreement and asking about the Extension Program again, I was told "actually Electrical Technician DOESN'T have an extension program". I.E. they make it sound fantastic when they want your money, but when you expect the results that a $20,000 program should provide, they fall far short of my expectations.

My favorites were the 2005 BelnerO and the 2006 Rosso di Montalcino. I'm a Red Wine lover of course....and those were excellent! The two surprises of the evening for me were the Maschio Prosecco Treviso Brut and the Rosa Regale. The Prosecco is an excellent alternative to Champagne, much lighter and very refreshing. The Rosa Regale was sweet and would go perfectly with any dessert.....yum! They were both added to the "Hit List". Overall, it was another awesome event and for $15, it's a steal! UNLV Students were responsible for preparing the food and serving the guests. They always do a great job. It's a great way to experience an awesome event and support the University.
