if you are a remote learner, stay away. they do not answer phones, do not help, do not respond to…read moreemails. Worst experience.

I've been going to this school for four years now . So please hear me when I say this school is…read moreextremely disorganized. During my first year it seemed as if they were more concerned about parties and drugs than academics. Later on in my second year I came to confirm that statement. Every year there is over 20 students that die on campus and there are various breaches of security that students are left unsafe in their own dorms. I knew a couple of students on east campus whose front doors to their dorms were broken and they waited months before their service ticket was answered and fulfilled to fix the door and in between that time homeless men were coming inside of their dorm at night and sleeping on their couches....you read it right . HOMELESS PEOPLE! They were scared to even stay in their own PAID dorms . I left campus that year and went online because so many students were experiencing rape, substance abuse, alcohol problems, and just feeling generally unsafe. Not to mention we are paying hundreds of thousands of dollars for this experience. My professors barely came to class. The bus runs 30-60 minutes late every single day, sometimes it doesn't even make it but we still have to go to class without a notice . Basically , if you're considering this school for your child or yourself , keep all this in mind.....Think twice before you attend the "Unsinkable Albany State University" GO RAMS !

I've been coming here for about a year now and honestly, it is a lot easier than I expected…read more Because I work, I take most of my classes online with maybe only one or two class (usually a hard class) on campus each semester. The instructors here are good for the most part when it comes to teaching. The courses are not all that challenging. It's not hard to get a B or even an A if you just simply pay attention and take good notes. Be careful not to miss too many days though because many of them will drop you from the class. However, they will excuse you if you simply email them at least a day or two in advance. The campus itself is nice and easy to get around. It's not too big but not small either; just right in other words. Plenty of benches and chairs throughout to sit down and chill. The library, although a tad bit small, is resourceful. The cafeteria has some good food on most days but a lot of the students use it to lounge around and play card games and such. Plenty of student parking but it can be packed at the beginning of the semester but usually dwindles a bit after about the first three or four weeks. Make sure you have a valid Student Parking permit because they do issue out tickets. I've seen it happen. Books prices, like most colleges, are pretty high. I suggest renting a book or buying a used one from someone else if at all possible. The bookstore is decent and usually all of their supplies are in stock. I have approximately one year left before I get this Associate's and move on to a four year school. If you do decide to enroll, try to learn as much as you can and make it one of the best experiences that you can. Most of the teachers actually care about their students' success and will do everything they can to help you.
