I called in the morning with a job needed to be complete by end of day. Frank, Ivy, and Johan at Academy were great. I really liked that this shop can do multiple types of engraving, and Frank was able to advise me on how the results would differ using different methods of engraving, how different fonts and different layout ideas might look. The end result was excellent quality, and I would definitely come here again. Not cheap, but if you want quality work done, you'll be working with professionals, and they are worth it. For my wedding, we had a fancy schmancy photo guest book made, but oops, I didn't proofread it and the date on the front cover was wrong! Oh well, right? I figure I could just get one of those brass plates made and have it affixed over the error. I found Academy on yelp, and they are close to my work. Sure it's a bit more expensive, but they did the job very quick (1 day turnaround, maybe less if I wanted). The small plate was about $30, which was more than the cost of the book. The cost was well worth it due to the personal service and quick turnaround. They saved my ass, and possibly my wedding! Might be a little over exaggerating, but hey, every little thing counts! Service at Academy was nothing short of OUTSTANDING. Was tasked with searching for a reputable engraver for a justifiable price by my boss. A quick Yelp search and a phone call later and I was introduced to the man that would later save my behind, Frank. I work in government, and unfortunately, the bureaucracies created to protect the integrity of public office often impede in matters of business. But Frank, being the upstanding gentleman he is, handled it all like a seasoned pro - don't think there's anything you can hit him with he hasn't dealt with before. I mistakingly put in an invalid order, and before I could correct it Academy had already completed the order. Instead of stubbornly handing the order as is, Frank agreed to re-ro the job free-of-charge even though I was clearly at fault. I went here for a last-minute watch engraving. Overall they did a great job and had a fast turnaround (less than a day). Few small things: their hours are only 9-5. so most people like myself would be unable to go there after work. Not a big deal. They also have a minimum fee (which for the watch I was engraving was $40). But again these are small things. It was awesome working with the staff here. I had a $10 watch I'd picked up in London, and needed a to get a very complicated inscription engraved on it. They worked with me on the layout and design! They helped me pick the best way to display it. It was fantastic. And the result was perfect, as expected. Then they directed me to a watch store down the street to change the battery :) The staff was friendly and incredibly helpful, and it was pretty inexpensive too. read more

I had been looking for an engraving company that could assist me with some flexible thin metal labels to adhere to corporate gift items. I had inquired at a few places that weren't very close to my office. Then I found this place by chance when I Google Mapped our address and searched for engravers nearby. The employees here are all very friendly, responsive, and they do excellent work. I was more than satisfied with the finished product in terms of quality, speed and price. And when I mentioned the process of sticking them to the gifts and trying to ensure symmetry, they even offered to make a guide for me out of the extra pieces of wood they had in their workshop! I called Academy and they told me to come right over and they would find something for me. I rushed over around 2pm and Ivy at the front desk was so helpful!
