I was referred to Academy F&A by my normal doctor because I had pain in my left ankle. After an xray and MRI, Dr (Paul) Marciano diagnosed that I had a 1cm x 2cm bone fragment that had broken off of my fibula and it was floating around in my ankle. All of my cartilage in that joint was gone the ligament that was previously attached to the fragment was just loose. After consulting with Dr (Dan) Pierini (another on the AF&A staff), I elected to have surgery to remove the fragment, reattach the ligament and pack the joint with artificial cartilage. They are affiliated with Wise Healthcare, so the surgery was scheduled there. I was in before 7am and out by 11am. The whole staff of Wise - as well as Dr Pierini - were wonderful and I am happy to report that the surgery was a big success. Dr Pierini's "bedside manner" is excellent. He is compassionate and knowledgeable, as well as humorous. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. The whole staff at this location (they have several) are excellent and I have enjoyed getting to know them during my 8 weeks of rehab. Kudos to Connie, Bridget and Destiny who work the front desk. I'll mention as well that my rehab was done at this same location via All Pro Rehab from Dr Skylar Hay. read more

I can't compliment this Physician and office enough! I have really enjoyed my experience with them! Dr. Pierini is an absolute joy! He is so kind, and gentle, soft spoken, and so very caring! I had a pretty big surgery on my right foot and he was amazing through it all! He is so professional and called me and checked on me and his assiatant, Bridget is another bright spot! I feel so fortunate to have had them on my team! My foot surgery was 3 months ago and it has healed so well! I have no more pain and feels more like normal every day! I am just blown away by my results. Dr. Pierini took a flat, worn out foot and created an amazing arch and strengthened my tendon and it is almost like new! I will forever be grateful to him! Ended up going to a real podiatrist where they found a piece of nail that had not been removed. the response I received when I called to ask why my toe was not healing was that I should go to urgent care. read more

Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but I was seen 40 minutes late, and when it was time for my visit, Doctor Parr came in, didn't even assess / take a look at my foot and recommended surgery and antibiotics within 30 seconds of being in the room. An absolutely GROSS assessment and misdirection. If I hadn't asked any questions, I'm confident he would have been out of the room in another 30 seconds. Went to get a second opinion, and that doctor was shocked he would have recommended surgery and even said prescribing antibiotics was unnecessary, so now I'm stuck with having to take a full course of antibiotics anyway because you can't stop them once you start. This other doctor was able to address the situation in less than 5 minutes and I was on my way, with a full resolution for my issue. Can't say that for Dr. Parr and this place. Absolutely careless guidance. Didn't care about me or my situation in any way. I would have been in a TERRIBLE place had I just blindly trusted this doctor's opinion. They just wanted to get me out of there. Was it was because they were behind? Who knows, but it was an absolutely awful experience. read more

I worked with Dr. Parr and appreciated his greatness. He I'd a wonderful compassionate doctor. The front office, l dont know what to say. My care broke down, l called an uber got there 10-15 min late. Of course the uber left and l was on lunch.... they couldn't see me, l was too late. I called the next day, the uber was going to be late 10 min, l called and told the..and was told l couldn't come.... paid the cancellation fee. Got an appointment the next day, car fixed, inn9ffice early. I have been waiting for 40 min and told.l.would have to wait 15 min more, on lunch. I can't wait to see him for another 15 mins. I can't! This has to go both ways my time is important as well. read more

After two phone calls, both times being placed on hold for exactly two minutes and then forwarded on to a voicemail (generic one at that), I called back a third time to advise. Before I could even get my complete sentence out, "Lulu" placed me on hold again. Screw that. Why would I give someone our hard earned money that doesn't even give a crap about me on the phone? Not only did he listen to my concerns, he asked what I'd hoped would happen during my visit; and he did exactly what I'd anticipated! My foot hurts everyday because of these people two years now. Don't do it. Foot work never is as good as they say.

I'm usually pretty generous with my reviews, but my experience at this place was so neglecting and unprofessional. The office visit and diagnosis went perfectly. I received my prescription and proceeded to take as directed. After a few days, I noticed a very itchy rash, which are some of the side effects. Then a few more days and I had a thick plaque-like rash all over my body. They told me to discontinue the meds and she prescribed a prednisone pack and some clinical strength hydrocortisone cream. I received the prednisone pack, but never received the clinical strength hydrocortisone cream. A week later I called back and was informed that creams usually ship from Bedford, but since you never received it, they will cal it in to your local pharmacy. It never happened! In the meantime, it's been 3+ weeks itching and burning all over my body and now the rash is beginning to spread up my neck. I feel completely abandoned. read more

Dr. Parr was great! The whole staff was very kind, and sensitive to the fact that I was very anxious. They did a great job of making sure I was pain free to get my toenail removed. They gave me thorough instructions for how to care for my foot afterward, and made sure I was wrapped up well. The facility was very clean and they have a pleasant waiting area. They also sell Vionics and Birkenstocks there which is great! Will definitely go here for all my future podiatrist needs, and send friends and family here as well. read more

Dr Parr, he's an angel! Can't say enough good about him. I was finally diagnosed with what's called trumpet, omega, and pincher nails. All my nails were growing into a trumpet shape, pinching the nerves in my toes. Ive never been able to wear anything but open toe shoes. Any pressure at all on my toes caused inflammation in my feet. This wonderful man fixed my toes and now i wear what i want. He was my angel for a hour. I can't imagine how many people whose lives he has changed. My experience was awful. I have never left a bad review on anything and had to leave one because it was that bad. I called the office to schedule an appointment and the lady who answered put me on hold and never came back-- this happened 3 times until she finally took my call. This should've been my red flag but the reviews were decent so I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. The lady on the phone recorded my information incorrectly in their system, I get it-- human error, no biggie. However, when I arrive to the office, I informed the front desk that my name was incorrect, she said she would fix it, but she didn't. I never received the patient portal via email that this lady said she would send. Because of this I decided to show up over half an hour early to fill the paper work out and still be seen at my scheduled time. I waited for over an hour before I was called back. Once I was called back, everything was super rushed. They took X-rays and failed to even discuss them with me until I asked. Dr. Parr was basically just trying to sell me a bunch of expensive items but failed to actually discuss what the issues with my foot were. I waited over an hour for not even a 15 minute visit. The doctor didn't seem to care about me or my foot at all. So $77 later (for X-rays they failed to discuss), I have no answers, a couple generic worksheets I could've downloaded from the internet, and a prescription for a glorified ibuprofen. Don't waste your time or hard earned money on this place. The staff were rude from the start. The doctor was in a rush and didn't offer any helpful information. Not impressed and will never go back. read more

The office wanted to cancel my appointment twice because they did not have referral from my primary care physician. As it turns out the referral was faxed by my physician the day before. Getting my elderly mother in law ready for an appointment takes a lot of time and this was very inconsiderate. While on line to check in, another man furnished proof of insurance but was advised by office staff that they did not receive a referral so he would have to pay $97.00 upfront to be seen. There is absolutely no consideration to their elderly patients. This man paid for very good insurance and was not able to use because the office would not call his referring physician. I recently went to Dr. Parr with a needle in my foot. He managed to retrieve the needle and completely remove it . He made the whole procedure very comfortable . He spent all the time necessary to find the needle and remove it. His entire staff is awesome from reception to his nurses. I've never had such an incredible experience at a Dr. Office. Everyone was very attentive and me feel completely at ease. There was never a long wait and appointments were easily made. I would recommend Dr. Parr and his staff to everyone. Had a ingrown toe nail and went to a podiatrist near me. At the time, I got one shot and was barely numbed and felt a lot of pain throughout the procedure. Kind of left me scarred. I had another ingrown toe nail on another toe and came to Academy foot & Ankle and Made a appointment with Dr. Jimenez. I told him about my experience. He promised me I was not going to feel anything when I was number up. I honestly didn't believe him, but after spending 10 minutes and giving me 2 shots, my toe was FULLY numb. He started the procedure and I asked him if he was doing anything. I didn't feel ANY pressure, any pain, any discomfort. He took his time to ensure that my experience went well and that I didn't feel any pain. The ONLY discomfort you feel is a very cold spray that is used on the injection point. But even that is nothing. Feels like a very small pinch and then they insert the needle. Am going to be returning to see Dr. Jimenez today and am looking forward to a no pain experience. read more

I was referred here and it was a great experience! The best part was Dr. Dacus took the time to explain how our feet work in general, how my feet move, and where my pain is coming from based on how my feet move. The second best part was the lack of waiting, they had appointments available the day after they called me and once I was there I didn't wait past my appointment time and the doctor came in within 5 mins after the intake and X-rays were complete. Dr. Moradi is very polite and outgoing but is basically a walking template. I mean what he told me was almost phrase for phrase the exact same words each visit. They will schedule for follow ups every two weeks for that copay money. There's 15 minute policy on appointments and they do not budge. I went here for Plantar fasciitis. They gave me night splints, tens unit, orthotics and steroid shots. Said they checked my insurance and it was all covered. It was not... so after they claim to have sent me 6 bills, which I never received, they turned it in to a collections agency. Which also claims to have sent me statements, which I never received. So now I can't turn into my FSA even since it was last years medical expenses. I never even received a phone call from them. Trust me, when dealing with podiatrists, insurance is iffy. Always check with them on what's covered yourself. read more

I have seen both Dr. Dacus and Dr. Parr. Since Dr. Dacus doesn't perform surgery he recommended me to Dr. Parr. Prior to seeing Dr. Parr, I went to another foot/ankle surgeon who recommended I undergo either and Ankle fusion or replacement but since he didn't do that type of surgery he recommended me to a Dallas surgeon. Since I live in Fort Worth, I didn't want to go all the way there and I wasn't ready to undergo those types of surgeries, so I went back to see Dr Parr. He recommended I undergo arthroscopic surgery first to see how that worked for me. I appreciated his honesty and his kindness and the way he makes you feel like your his only patient. His nurse Katie is wonderful as well. She is always smiling and the times I needed to speak to her by phone, she called me back within a matter of minutes. And then there is Ms. Ruth at checkout who is so friendly and kind. EVERY appt I had, I did not sit in the waiting room for more than 10 minutes and I have not waited for Dr. Parr to come into the room for no more than 10 minutes either. I recommend this practice for anyone with foot and ankle issues and I am so thankful for the care I received. read more
