Staff is great, but the managing/supervising attorney turns a blind eye to the lead attorney's mistakes, to the client's extreme detriment. RUN - Don't walk - AWAY from this firm - they may come across as nice, knowledgeable, and focused, but they are not, and when the metal hits the road, they leave you hanging. Especially the lead attorney - you cannot trust her to have your back - she is more focused on CYA than she is on advocating for her clients.

He did however, take most information from us over the phone and met only once with us. Our legal issue was with home improvement company offering "full professional installation" services in which they hire third party contractors to do the actual work. Despite the wrong doings of this company who provided absolutely "no oversight on the third party contracts from the "Project Specialist(s)" and months of waiting, giving over our own materials, time, and the only contracts we had, we were finally told in a letter including two refund checks that he had "to give you some bad news". In the long run, we were not given a case and discharged from any further representation with the implication it was more cost effective for us despite: ~ a company's contractors installing appliances that we had no control over and because of their contempt for the installation process and safety for the home owner and their own licensed bonded profession, a resulting fire with minimal damage and acknowledged "shoddy and haphazard" work is not worth any representation in the law or by a Maine law firm ~Despite this happening to two disabled adults and one being a Disabled American Veteran, despite even this, there apparently is no recourse in the entire state of Maine and no law that is here to protect a consumer from a blatant disregard for contracted services that the consumer themselves had not control in or over the selection nor retention process regardless of their "shoddy and haphazard" work. This EVEN when the installation company was made aware of individual disabilities and limitations that a consumer is not required to have to share. Despite all of that, there is no recourse to protect the disabled or the DAV in the state of Maine apparently from being taken advantage of by service contractors and home improvement companies. ~We were told that the company in control had ambiguous contracts of who they had hired and who was responsible by this attorney. Regardless, we had NO control over that part or who was sent out, fires starting, or getting help. Even with multiple phone calls to the installation company for assistance that went unaided, still, even then, we have a case that is not worth this attorney's time or their company for representation. Despite our limited income we still have paid every bill upfront and even gave 1k in good faith monies which the remainder of the 1K was reimbursed in two checks with the discharge letter. Probably doesn't sound right to you either the average/disabled person out there. Regardless, we were dropped and disregarded and hope this really isn't how the state of Maine is truly represented by the law and the people who are to advocate for ANY citizen that needs help. We are going to post it to the VBK business too since their letterhead and representation has been done by Mr. Harrigan. Hopefully it will help others from wasting time, resources, and their finances on someone who isn't, won't, or never could, help.
