We chose to be placed on the waiting list because of its affordability when compared to other senior living care offerings in the community. Being that Hover is a CCRC (Continuing Care Retirement Community) it was very important to us that care could be given through any stage of life or physical need without leaving the campus. The elders I encountered in the Independent Living and Assisted Living buildings were not shy about sharing their pride and how they had individualized their living environments and it was wonderful to see them so happy. I also met several residents in the Hover Green Houses, Skilled Nursing, and so pleased to see the homes are run as an elder-in-charge community with meaningful relationships being developed and nurtured. The houses are beautiful homes and give elders the opportunity to participate in daily tasks like cooking and be involved playing games or having fun with crafts. The Hover Green House skilled nursing is so nice I want to live there! I can't recommend the Beatrice community highly enough!

Many diagnostic tests have to be done in a hospital setting. State of the art equipment and well trained personnel is paramount. The radiology group here was all of this. The facility is too. We have used this hospital for many diagnostics and a few surgeries. For those of us who use UCH exclusively, this place cuts the drive time to only half of what it is if using University hospital facilities at Anschutz from a home in Boulder. We are happy when we can make that choice. But sometimes, Anschutz may be the only option. And that has proven valuable to me. Always make sure the facility you choose is in your insurance network. It's how the medical world works, though emergency services should always be the closest available and are often covered anyway. Just be sure to get the best coverage you can afford. I was in and out in under an hour and follow through available within the day.

The new lenses were a little off. They made me a little dizzy walking around with them. I told the optician my concerns, but her responses were repeatedly a dismissive "weird" and "interesting." Only saying they were the same prescription. Fine, but I could not see as well as the original ones. Even after I mentioned that I've had glasses not right at other places, they had been able to adjust them perfectly, and could she try that? She made a slight adjustment to the nose piece and told me to wear the lenses for a few days. That was silly, as I should be able to see through them as perfectly as the originals...and they made me dizzy! The fact that she was so unwilling to help was incredibly frustrating. Ultimately, I had to refuse the new lenses and have my old ones put back in. Her immediate "okay" showed a complete lack of concern. I am disappointed that spending $700 gets me this kind of customer service. If I could have seen clearly, I obviously would have walked away with them. I drove from Boulder to get them. She was completely unconcerned that these did not work for me. Glasses are expensive. Go somewhere where your vision is important to them.

I am blind and have a crippled foot; my husband was having total knee replacement surgery. She came to our home for 2 weeks at 5 hours per week and did meal prep, light housekeeping as we had requested. It should be noted that Skilled Nursing was not required pre-operative. The next 4 weeks leading up to knee surgery, she assigned 2 women who were not able to do the job. Post operative care was non-existent. Kaitlyn told us we were asking for too much...She wanted us to have one-on-one interaction in the same room with the caregivers. I am severely immunocompromised! They charged us 300 dollars for a sign up fee and haven't "found" another caregiver for us because it's "too hard" for them and they don't want to "burn out " their caregivers. They also promised rides to the doctor's office during the caregiver's duty hours, but, when I asked for a ride to an appointment, Kaitlyn said the caregiver doesn't have a car. We were not asking for anything unreasonable; masks, social distancing; we did not need lifting, touching or administration of infusions preoperatively. Cook, clean, take you to medical appointments. We were promised a rate of 34 dollars for one patient and discovered that Kaitlyn changed the fee to two patients at 44 dollars an hour. The worst thing was that we had no help for my husband after his surgery! They neither provide dignity nor care.

My insurance (Aetna) began dropping Whole Health coverage en mass (3 entire health systems: Colorado Children's Hospital clinics/facilities; Boulder Community Health clinics/facilities; Intermountain Health clinics/facilities) in 2026 and as it happened, Dr. Gatof remained in-network but the facility where my colonoscopy was performed was suddenly out-of-network. This all happened without Aetna informing us or Endoscopy Center of the Rockies. While I was going back and forth with Aetna on the surprise facility charges for the colonoscopy (3,000+), Christine the billing supervisor at Gastro took excellent care of us. Christine elevated the situation and adjusted our bill to what it would have been had it been billed in-network. I am 100% confident they cared about our situation--we were not just a number or an appointment, we were people. Again, Dr. Gatof was super and the staff from schedulers, to insurance verification, all the way to billing (an especially a huge shout out to Christine in billing--THANK YOU!) were all very professional, courteous, and kind. I hope to stay with them for years to come.
