My son spent six weeks as a resident of this place and only 12 days were actually spent there due to multiple falls resulting in surgeries, they treated him for the wrong illnesses, witheld medication as a punitive measure and stole from him. My experience working at Accel at Longmont was the worst experience I've had in healthcare. I accepted the job because I wanted to make a difference for the residents, but I left feeling heartbroken by what I personally witnessed. In my experience, chronic understaffing led to unanswered call lights, long waits for basic care, and employees being spread so thin that providing the quality of care residents deserved became nearly impossible. I repeatedly raised concerns about resident safety and neglect, but I did not feel they were taken seriously by upper management. As a mandated reporter, I could not continue working in an environment that conflicted with my professional and ethical responsibilities. I was hired for one position but quickly found myself performing the duties of several departments--including activities, transportation, scheduling, reception, medical records, and assisting on the nursing floor--with little to no training or additional compensation. Staff members were expected to do more with fewer resources, and morale reflected that. I also witnessed resident safety issues that deeply concerned me, including residents leaving the building unsupervised and remaining missing for extended periods before management became aware. From my perspective, the facility also accepted residents with significant behavioral health needs without having the specialized staffing or support necessary to safely care for them. Another disappointment was that the facility shown in Google photos did not reflect what I experienced in person. I also observed residents being placed with incompatible roommates, creating unnecessary stress for everyone involved. Finally, I was concerned about resident privacy after seeing employee group chats that still included former employees. In my opinion, this raised serious concerns about confidentiality and the handling of sensitive resident information. The residents deserved far better than what I witnessed. Many frontline caregivers genuinely cared and worked incredibly hard, but they were not given the support or staffing they needed. Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend this facility to families looking for care or to anyone considering employment there. read more

Since I wrote my initial review, things have gone downhill dramatically. At one point, my niece, who is bedbound, woke up in the middle of the night to find a man standing over her bed. He was a mental patient there. My niece was/is helpless. Thankfully, a staff member noticed he was in there and made him leave. He was not a peaceful man, as it turned out, and was eventually removed from the facility, but it took some doing. Since that time, they have admitted a number of mental patients more, another of whom made her way into my niece's room. Weeks went by after my niece was admitted before they finally gave her a bath. At a MINIMUM, it is supposed to be 2 a week. That has NEVER been the case for her. Ever. Meanwhile, numerous times my niece did not receive her daily medications; was given the wrong medications, which would have had dire consequences had she not realized they were the wrong ones; and was skipped for meals (she is thin - so not a diet thing). I don't know what's happening there, but they are grossly understaffed, and the increased number of mental patients is disconcerting, to put it mildly. Something needs to change and fast. read more

Accel at Longmont is a wonderful facility. I am so thankful that we found this place for my mom. Everyone and I mean everyone there, the director, nurses, CNAs, caregivers, and support staff were extremely caring and kind. I believe that my mom was truly loved by all who interacted with her. In addition, all of these wonderful people truly cared about me, my dad and my whole family. Every time we came to visit, we were greeted with a smile and treated like a part of the family. I stayed at this facility for over a month, starting on Easter Day 2023, it was the WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD in ANY institutional environment. If I could give ACCEL at Longmont a negative 5 star rating I would. This Hell on Earth should be feared, avoided, and shunned at all costs. First of all, the food was absolutely terrible!! No real selection or variety available and the food was always made absentmindedly, served cold, and was the worst tasting slop I've ever had. Next, the daytime CNAs and some nurses were too busy playing on their phones or gossiping in groups with other staff to do their jobs. I could only get them to change my sheets about three times during my stay. When they did change the sheets they would just lay them on the bed and expect me to tuck everything in. I couldn't even walk or perform basic self care at that time. I was usually treated like a nuisance every time I asked for something. There were a few people who took their jobs seriously and were very good at it, but the vast majority of the staff were severely lacking. I met with the prescribing doctors for a total of five minutes the entire time I was there. The doctors were very inattentive, cold, and didn't get my medications correct at all. I had to go for over a month not taking 2 medications that I have needed for years. Effective communication was never something I witnessed between the various staff. If I asked for something, that request would disappear as soon as I said it. For example, I wanted to get a vaccination while I was there. The vaccine was available there, but no matter how many times I asked or who I asked I never received it. Imagine a month of asking every nurse, doctor, CNA, orderly, therapist the same request and not one person can get the job done. I couldn't walk or do any basic self care when I arrived at ACCEL at Longmont and the lack of assistance was mind blowing! On too many occasions to count pressing the nurse call button was almost pointless, the response could take over half an hour for a nurse/CNA to respond. One time they left me sitting on the pot for so long my legs and backside started to go blue and really hurt, not just go numb, and the nurse call button got no response for over 30 minutes. I had to start screaming to finally get someone to help me get off the pot. They absentmindedly cleaned my backside, I had no strength to do it myself, and left me feeling unclean almost every time I had to go. You can only press the call button once and pray that they will get to you in a reasonable amount of time. The only positive thing about this place were the physical therapy and occupational therapy personnel. These people were, for the most part, the only professionals there. The social worker was a complete mess. She was unorganized and I could not get her to do her job and ended up staying there for an additional week as a result, which came out of my pocket. She wouldn't respond to texts, voicemail or emails from me or my family. The day of my discharge took place during her shift, but she couldn't be found or reached in any way. The nurse did the social worker's job the best she could in order to get me out of there, but I still had to go home with no oxygen or other pertinent items. The social worker was very unprofessional and is, unfortunately, someone you have to work with. Overall, if you're looking for a great place, or even a poor place for physical and occupational therapy NEVER GO ANYWHERE NEAR ACCEL at Longmont, CO. You would be better off staying at an animal shelter or a funeral home. I hope that you or your loved ones will never have to experience the nightmare I went through with ACCEL at Longmont. For the love of all that's good in this world, STAY AWAY from this place of pure frustration and suffering. read more

If you care for your loved ones don't let them go here. My sister was in this facility for rehab, they were very good and helped her a lot........... until insurance stopped paying, then they treated her like a second class citizen. Therapy stopped with no explanation to her, she was moved to the 300 hall. That hall is filthy dirty, they don't clean the rooms, don't take out the trash. The food is cold and is never what is ordered. Admin does not communicate with family like they claim they do, the rare occasion that they did Morgan could not even say my sister's first name. Everyone is just a number there. Meds are not delivered on time. Morgan, the social worker is the WORST at her job. read more

Had I written this review while my grandmother was at Accel, it would have been positive. The staff and nurses showed my grandmother immense amounts of compassion, respect and kindness. There were a few hiccups here and there but overall it was a great experience while she was there. Staff - Great. Everyone helpful and very hands on. The dining staff to the nurses and everyone in between was awesome. Facility - Exceptional. All new and great PT gym. Intake and getting her adjusted - Helpful and nice. Made it a breeze. Discharge - NIGHTMARE. Not worth going to Accel if this is how they discharge patients. The discharge from Accel has been an incredible fail. Liz, who helped us with discharge, failed to get the ecquipment my grandmother needs set up at home that virtually are life threatening without. It was reckless and careless and she has been zero help. She showed blatant disregard for her life and honestly should really rethink working in healthcare. We have talked to countless doctors, insurance people and nurses who all said that Accel 100% should not have discharged her without this. This has completely ruined an otherwise positive relationship and experience that we had with them. I am so so frustrated that Accel would discharge patients early like this without appropriate medical devicess at home. I would definitely warn people coming to Accel of this as it has taken countless hours to deal with and scramble to fix. The lack of discharge planning has jeopardized her life, and was completely avoidable. Shame on them. Such a shame for a nice place like Accel to make the transition home so difficult. BEWARE of using Accel if you are expecting to transition back to independent living. They clearly have problems with people in their administration that trickles down to patient care and safety. I know sometimes reading yelp reviews don't sway you one way or another but please read all of Accel's reviews as this has been an utter nightmare for our family. read more

Granted these are challenging times. However, when basic needs are not being met it is time to limit census or close. A dear friend of our family is currently at rehab. Lights are never answered. Food is lukewarm and what is ordered is rarely on tray. Requests to talk to a physician are not relayed or ignored. PT usually arrives at lunch time when tray is there and is angry when she wants to eat. Simple requests such as water or coffee are not met. She is currently so discouraged that she wants to give up. We have relayed concerns to no avail. read more

Desperately trying to get my father in law out of this facility. They are understaffed and continue to take new clients. My father in law had two turkey sandwiches for food over the weekend because there was no staff to cook. His room is filthy everytime I visit. He is dirty and laying in disarray. He has had one channel on his television for weeks now because no one will fix his remote. He has fallen with no one to hear his cries for help. He got pneumonia and no one let me know. He is now laying in a bed with poor circulation in his legs because no one gets him up to walk. He's left to his own most days. We didn't know this because he hasn't said anything and is wearing socks when we visit. The pneumonia happened this week after a fall. Do not put your loved one here. We are desperately seeking an alternative for him. read more

My sister-in-law required a Hospice bed in a long term care facility, so we selected Accel at Longmont. We have had mixed results. The facility is nearly new and quite attractive. The first 48 hours after admission, the care plan was somewhat muddled, but they finally straightened it out. After that, Accel staff gave her generally good care until her death about a week later. For admission, they required us to prepay a minimum of two weeks (about $4,500), which we handled by credit card. However, we have been waiting two months for the unused portion to be refunded -- with excuse after excuse and delay after delay. They assured us the check had been mailed more than 2 weeks ago, but we still have not been paid. read more

Would never ever recomend Accel to anyone I know. My Dad was in Accel in Longmont, CO for 14 days too long. He fell there 5 times in two weeks time. The last one was he was left in the bathroom alone and fell on the tile breaking 5 ribs. He went in to recover from a stroke and now dealing with that and his ribs which is so painful. We have found a much better facility in Longmont that is caring for him the way he should have been treated at Accel. Accel does not have enough help for the patients there. They NEED more staff. read more

I arrived in great deal of pain and depressed. The staff - all of them Nurses, PT, OT, Aids, Admin - helped me get better and able to leave before a month was up. The compassion showed by many of staff helped me so much at a time I really needed it. It is hard to do their job in the best of circumstances but with the virus it is very difficult and they tried to make it as tolerable as possible and get me turned around. The facility is beautiful and I would recommend it to anyone who needs this kind of care. read more

If I had written this review when my mother-in-law was still alive and receiving care from Accel, they would have received five stars. However, my mother-in-law passed over two months ago, and we have been given the run around while attempting to receive a refund for the FULL MONTH we paid shortly before she passed. This refund amount is substantial (five figures) and every attempt we have made to obtain a refund has been ignored. Kailee does not return phone calls, we have been told several times over the past 9 weeks that 'the check is in the mail' (seriously), that it has to be approved by corporate, that they don't know the status of the refund...I could go on but I'm sure you get the point. Kailee refuses to transfer our calls to corporate or to her supervisor. They are very quick to demand payment up front but do not extend the same courtesy to refund requests. Very frustrating position to be in and no one at the facility seems to care to respond. read more

Following some unexpected complications after my husband's bilateral knee replacements, he recently spent 2 weeks at Accel at Longmont. We have nothing but positive things to say about the facility, the staff and especially the rehab he received while there. The Nursing staff was very attentive and responsive to his needs, the attending Physicians were knowledgeable and compassionate, and the Physical Therapy staff was top notch. They were engaging, skilled, motivating and pushed him appropriately for great outcomes. Having spent my entire career in health care as a PT, I don't dole out 5-star reviews indiscriminately when it comes to rehab facilities as I have seen it all, but this one deserves kudos. A 2-week rehab stay is never anyone's idea of a good time, but they actually made it a pleasant experience. read more

John Adams is the administrator of this nursing home and Accel at Golden Ridge. A family member was admitted to Accel at Golden Ridge and left 14 days later with bedsores that required surgery to close. Nursing home administration insisted they weren't responsible for this. read more

I was in this facility for a week and found it to be sub par. Most staff were pleasant and helpful and knowledgeable. But that was negated by the few who seemed that they could not care less, to include Nurses , CNA's . My blood sugar was high one evening and the nurse said "now I have to call the doctor and I do not have time". It was said with such an attitude, I was extremely hurt. They are understaffed, but that is not my issue. My insurance is billed the same per day whether they are staffed appropriately or not. The care they give should always be professional and empathetic no matter how their shift is coming together. One evening some man came into my room dressed in a chamo shirt and no name tag, he was there to draw blood. Very unsettling, not knowing who he really was. My final straw was something ( of minimal value) was stolen from my bathroom, and I was told it would be replaced , which never happened. I actually felt like no one really believed I had something go missing. Beautiful facility, but be aware of the wolf in sheeps clothing. read more

My 93yr old mother was unfortunately sent here for rehab after surgery. None of the doctors share info with each other, none of the aids talk to the doctors about the patients according to one of the doctors,residents sit in dirty diapers for hours and hours,care is substandard, food is cold and is distasteful,aids don't give a damn because they are "rented" employees from a company that recruits them from out of state,doctor made fun of other doctor who helped me get sugar packs-no one else was around.My mother died in their care,they were rough in handling her,didn't initially order her pain meds, we found her hallucinating because of it,had another doctor say she was going to take my mom off her long term pain meds and wasn't even her primary care doctor,had to tell each doctor her overall health issues because the doctors didn't share that info with each other,understaffed,nurse-only one nurse for whole wing- was continually late with meds my mom required.Forget it if your loved one needs help eating because they will not feed them or even wipe the food from their faces.The physical therapy people also ignored the physical limitations my mom had and made her stand up straight when she hadn't for years-she cried from the pain.They put compression sleeves on her legs and left them on way longer than was necessary and her poor little legs looked like match sticks.It made me cry to see it.Her room wasn't cleaned or swept for 3 days. The same little piece of trash on the floor didn't move and towels and washcloths weren't replaced daily,didn't even acknowledge her death with one word or a card.They took her call button from her & moved it where she couldn't reach it. I think this place needs to be seriously looked into. Physically it's a nice newer facility, the nurse opened a window so her spirit wouldn't be trapped in that hell hole after she died, and that's the ONLY good thing I have to say. Unless you can stay day and night with your loved one to watch out for them, feed and clean them up, and fight for their meds to be timely DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONE IN THIS FACILITY!!! read more

Be very aware before you decide to put any of your loved ones in this facility. It looks nice physically but there are huge issues. They are very understaffed and the staff they use is lacking in all training needed to care for all residents. My mom was in this facility for a little over 3 weeks and each time I would go visit her (2x every day) there was always the proper attention being paid to her. If this was happening to my mom how many other residents were also not having the proper attention paid to them. My mom had quite a few visitors and each one encountered some sort of difficulty while they were there visiting her. Our concerns were brought up to the Administration Team and still these issues persisted. My mom had several organs removed in the hospital and they failed to start training with her on how to change her Ostomy bag until the last week. There was a schedule set for training for both of us (Administration failed to make the nurse in charge, at the time, aware of this training on the first night) and the schedule was very limited once they found out on a Sunday her insurance had run out. So I took my mom out on a Sunday very frustrated on training and how to care for her Ostomy bag. I have since taken her to emergency facility and they were a godsend, doing all of the right things in an hour and a half. My mom's Ostomy bag has not leaked since and she is now set up with a HHC Nurse and proper therapy. I will never use this facility again and will make sure as many people that I know will not use Accel either. I hope they keep telling 10 people, and so on. Thanks for reading. read more
