Her initial treatment is typically conservative but she takes a very balanced approach and knows when not to be conservative. If you get labs done, she'll explain the results to you in English. He will listen to you speak and he will listen to you intuitively. He will discern angles emotionally and spiritually you have not considered. Last winter I was walking my dog and fell on ice and seriously messed up my left arm so bad I could not work and I could barely just get through the day because of the pain and because my arm was just dangling by my side. Unfortunately, I lost confidence in Robert Underwood for the following reasons: - Robert Underwood treated me using Moxibustion, a type of traditional Chinese medicine that involves the burning of dried mugwort (moxa) on or near particular points of the body. The procedure he used caused 2nd/3rd degree burns to my abdomen. - Prior to treatment, I asked Robert Underwood if he had ever had any burn incidences with this procedure. He said "no", and failed to disclose the risks. - Robert Underwood placed the shallow container with the burning moxa on my abdomen and left me unattended in the room by myself with no call button. The container fell over and started burning my skin while I was laying, in and out of consciousness, on my back with needles in my body. I screamed for him three times before he came back to the room. By that time, I had managed to jump off the table. But the damage had already been done. - Robert Underwood did not provide proper first aid and infection control following the injury. Instead of immediately washing the site and applying a cool compress followed by a petroleum jelly product and sterile bandaging, which is the protocol for such burns per directions from my doctor, he instructed me to use my dirty finger to rub anesthetic gel into the unwashed burned area that was covered with bits of charcoal. He did not use a sterile bandage to cover the burn because he could not find any in the first aid kit. Instead, he used a non-sterile paper towel and office tape. - I walked into Robert Underwood's office with no burns anywhere on my body. I walked out with 2nd and 3rd degree burns to my abdomen and to the inside of my navel. While Robert Underwood did issue a refund, he has refused to acknowledge that he did anything wrong. Robert Underwood used a treatment that is potentially dangerous, he left the room, he did not leave a call button in case of emergency, he did not have a fully stocked first aid kit, he did not know the protocol for treatment, and he claims no responsibility. As a result of his actions, I am dealing with the physical and mental aftermath of a deep burn injury that has left me with life long scarring and discomfort. If you happen to be looking for an acupuncturist, there are plenty of five star acupuncturists in the Longmont area. I would recommend trying one of them.

I have been meaning to share my recent experience with all the expectant moms. In February I gave birth to my fourth child, and I literally owe my mobility (and subsequent sanity) to dr Tyler at Active Family Chiropractic. In my previous pregnancies I began suffering from Pubic Symphasis Dysfunction (separation) at six month. With this condition your pubic joint hurts when you get out of bed, climb stairs and sometimes simply walk. It was extremely painful and I spent the final months of my pregnancies limping, taking one stair at a time and driving everywhere even though I lived in a city in the Netherlands at the time! In my recent pregnancy, the pain set in at around 16 weeks. Three older children (6, 3, 1), a puppy and homeschooling meant I had to stay mobile. I had learned about Active Family Chiropractic through a friend before I got pregnant, and we were already familiar with the practice as a family, so I was happy to see dr Tyler during my pregnancy. The chiropractic care I received was amazing and I noticed an immediate difference in my pain and mobility. Multiple times a week, dr Tyler battled against that pesky pregnancy hormone "relaxin" (which makes it easy for your skeletal structure to slip out of alignment) and brought my body back into alignment. Chiropractic care was not a quick fix, it required a commitment on my part to continue with regular treatments throughout my pregnancy.
