It's also in a convenient location in the town centre by the Broad street mall. I was first introduced to Headmaster's in London near Paddington station and had consistently amazing results with my colourist Thea. Yet, the branch in Reading leaves something to be desired. The staff have given me both great and terrible results. The worst being some highlights done last year which were so uneven and over-processed. They responded professionally when I went back and gave me a full refund and another colour on top in an attempt to make my hair look normal again. However, it hasn't been the same since and I've been searching for the best hairdresser in Reading for a while now. I wish I could have found someone there I would be happy to recommend but nothing yet. I don't completely hate headmaster's but I can't love them either because I don't know the staff there enough. So, my main recommendation would be to go with a senior stylist or colourist if you decide to go here. I put pricey because the last time I went I felt it was very inflated for what I got. However, you can get good deals if you use the student discounts and recommend a friend or birthday discounts.

They also have something called stand0by haircuts, where you can get haircuts at reduced rates if you turn up on the day itself if peple cancel their appointments. A small but lively shop this place is nearly always busy so be patient. You could always read todays papers or watch the TV (sometimes in Italian) while you wait or join in the many conversations about various topics that take place. Everyone has always got an opinion. Back to business, you always get a decent haircut here and the prices are reasonable too. You nearly always get offered tea or coffee. Very few local people walk buy without sticking their head inside the door to say hi to Louie and the boys, which sometimes involves a racing tip or two. I'd happily tell potential clients needing a hair cut to try him out. To reduce waiting time there's an appointment system in use which is a good idea because you know exactly when you are going to get your hair cut.

I have never had a bad haircut here and although I don't go very often I would rather go here and pay the extra cost to have my haircut somewhere in nice surroundings with nice people! They will feed you drinks and biccies so that's always good and the folks there have always been great including the scalp masage and great advice. I have used Segais for a few years, had different stylists every visit and i have never have a 'bad' haircut. Some are better than others, but they are all friendly and do a decent job. You need to book about a week in advance if you want a sepcific day/time, but if you're flexible they usually have something free withing a day or two. Have always been really good with kids too. They always offer a drink and some of the more expensive ones will do a really good consultation beforehand. Prices vary, obvioulsy on what you're getting done, but a basic haircut will will set you back anything from £15 to £47. Unless i am asking for someone specific, i always ask what title they are and i look it up on the pricelist so i know before i get there how much it will be. Or if your one step ahead, ask for the level that you would like to do your hair. Also look out instore for offers on hair colouring etc, they often have discount weeks advertised. ;o)
