I was initially weary of virtual lessons, given his age, but Jamie proved to me that it could be done. She was able to build a great working relationship with my child, so much so that he was disappointed on the off chance we had to miss a week! In addition to the skills she has taught my son, Jamie has also taught me ways in which I can better support my child with his learning differences. I truly don't believe he would be in the position he is in now, as a Kindergartener, without her support. I cannot recommend her services enough. If you are looking for a kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable professional to work with - look no further than Wordwise Speech Therapy.

Then at front desk of ER, threw up again. No doctor examined, just gave her half a zofran for nausea. 40 minutes to get a head ct. now it's an hour. I ask About results as I saw this as an emergency before they suppressed the nausea. "oo it's down time" that's the response I got as if I know what it means. After I inquired what it means, I was told the system is down, 3 hours. "This is normal" I inquired this is head trauma, does she have a brain bleed and we're waiting 3 hours for results? "On no they replied, we'd know that almost immediately, they'd call down" of so my daughter is fine? From what we know they reply. they continue, "we are just waiting on the paper work. Wtf mind of system is this? Is this not negligent, nobody checked her eyes, airway, reflexes, NOTHING. I am sure this will cost a billion dollars. I feel as tho they want me to walk out but what kind of parent would I be to not wait for a dumb paper to be "official" Horrible bed side manor too.

0/0, drive to Southshore. My tiny older adult mother was brought here from Sunrise west Babylon…read more(though our documented preferred hospital is Southshore, Sunrise stated they have a relationship here) and boy oh boy are we having fun! 6 hours after arriving her arm is wrapped from the extravasion (I get it, it happens but when she's telling you it hurts look at the damn thing) and bruises so bad from failed venipuncture they are black! Not to mention completely ignoring her extensive previous work up and negative test results that would have kept her out of isolation (which the pulmonologist told us was unnecessary) but don't worry guys!!! The infectious disease doctor that never saw her, never spoke to family, and has zero clue about her EXTENSIVE medical history decided it was medically necessary. Wild since she has multiple negative cultures, a negative test result that was necessary for her to get into Sunrise just last week, a chest X-ray from 2 weeks ago (from the rehab facility she spent a month in) that DID NOT PLACE her in isolation but an absolute stranger decided it was necessary. Sounds legit. "She will get the same care" complete bullshit, anyone with the ability to Google can review the evidence about patients in isolation and their standard of care and outcomes. Just disgraceful. She called me because she was on her call light for an hour and was literally screaming "Help me, I need help" and no one came......I had to call the hospital to get someone in the room. She wants to sign out AMA but Sunrise is stating she can not come back without being appropriately discharged (they had no problem accepting her and her check just 6 days prior after she met all their criteria but all of a sudden WHOA) No one can provide me any evidence that she authorized sharing of her medical information with anyone at sunrise which is a wild HIPPA violatio they will scream they are justified ("we reach out to everyone's home when they leave AMA" that's when you just know they are lying and you get mad because no we never actually do that). They have removed her autonomy which is shameful. Tried to request a transfer which they won't facilitate because they can provide the same care which is NOT TRUE if she was sent to a hospital that can access her medical history she would be receiving significantly better care (that's just me using my damn logical brain!). NEVER again. This is a failure of the health care system in action. Poor continuation of care creates poor patient outcomes. When Dr's choose ego and "policy" over science and test results people suffer. We have given them more power than they deserve. Do better for your family member than we have done for ours in and GO ELSEWHERE if you value autonomy and choice. Also don't forget to file a formal complaint with NYS dept of Health and Medicare/Medicaid if you have issues with a hospitalized patient. Even better if you have evidence of erroneous billing/duplicate tests Always, and I mean ALWAYS request an itemized bill!! UPDATE: I have just been informed by Kristen, nurse supervisor, that even though I am my mother's designated healthcare proxy, though my mother has requested they speak to me about her medical care because it becomes confusing , they will no longer be sharing information with me. I also learned they haven't started cultures that would determine my mother's need for isolation. Been there for 36 hrs and has been isolation for over 24. UPDATE: admin has advised everyone to not speak with family (literally not legal to deny a patient the option to appoint a proxy which she has). Their Infectious Disease Dr. has stated isolation not necessary (pending seeing the results I faxed to Getty the case manager that were given to Diana the charge nurse this morning). UPDATE: day 2 of Dr. Thomas refusing to speak to designated documented patient proxy as my mother has requested over and over. Mother demonstrated her inability to follow information provided and does not remember speaking to the Dr today. They continue to deny her right of having a legally assigned proxy.

It's not perfect yet and there's still some work to do, but it's come a long way. The building looks much nicer than I expected and the location is beautiful. Big shout out to Dana in therapy. She was awesome... really motivating and you can tell she actually cares about getting people better, not just going through the motions. Every time I saw therapy going on people seemed engaged and actually making progress. Carline on the 2nd floor was another person that stood out. She was always kind, patient, and seemed to know all the residents. You could tell they were comfortable around her, which says a lot. Angelica at the front desk was always smiling and welcoming. First impressions matter and she made everyone feel comfortable walking in. And Kevin in Admissions was great too. He answered every question we had, never made us feel rushed and made the whole process a lot easier than I expected. Overall I left feeling really good about the place. It's obvious the staff cares and they're putting a lot of effort into improving things. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for rehab or long term care.

While I must say they are in the process of renovating and the entrance is now welcoming and appealing. I heard they are moving forward and working to renovating the facility, this is great!!!! Still, what stand out is the quality of care my Dad received, 100% The saying you can't judge a book by its cover is absolutely true!!! I must say my father has been at other Rehabilitation facilities in Suffolk County and none can compare to the experience I had with the others. To begin the Admissions Coordinator Kevin was very professional and attentive to my dads needs. followed by the Nurses, LPN's Certified Nurse Assistants, Facilities team, Physical Therapy team, Front Desk and Kitchen Staff have been exceptional!!!! They did a great job with comforting my father and providing/offering top notch care during his stay. The staff kept me alert to any changes in Dad's health or demeanor. Just to name a few, the Nurse Director Mrs. L. Hunt and Nurse Supervise Nigel are what you call quality care professionals. As well the LPN's; s Terri, Georgette, including CNA's Margaret, Lisa, and Male CNA Ethan, including the encouraging words and motivation from the Physical Therapy team Klara and Lisa team made a Hugh difference. The entire staff was wonderful and helped in my father recovery, with this I say Thank you and continued Blessing to each who helped my father. I also can't forget Briana the Social Worker who was always available and provided information that helped me navigating resources prior to my father discharge. The bottom-line quality medical care is hard to find, and Sunrise Manor Center in Bayshore, should be recognized as a small but unified and caring group of professionals. My apologies if I did not mention everyone's name, but your faces are clear in my mind and most importantly your patience, compassion and empathy are what I hold dear. Thank you Sunrise Manor for providing exceptional quality of care to my father. Continued economic growth to the facility and hard-working staff. Sincerely, Marina M.
