I was struggling with PPD as well as mental abuse and judgment from my family with the decision that I made. I felt alone, lost, and judged. Maria shared her story with me, coached me through my grief, and supported me in my weakest moments. Last year, I attended the high school graduation of the beautiful boy I gave birth to and I have the most beautiful relationship with his parents and extended family. My second motherhood experience came when I made the decision to accept full custody of my 5 young siblings (age 6, 8, 10, 12, 14) after the state of Virginia removed custody from our parents due to mental and physical abuse.
