Horrible place staff rude and they don't do what they promise but charge for everything

I went in for limited knee range of motion after acl surgery and dr.Rodolfo De Leon neglected the severity of my knee and told me to take pain medications. I then suggested that he reffered me to a physical therapist as ive been having this issue for years and need a fix. He then gave me attitude and told me hes gonna do it " his way". I came in the next day expecting a different doctor, well it ended up being him again. He said he will deny me service so in all honestly I cussed at him, and he cussed at me back and walked back into his office like a coward. Service was horrible. I dont reccomend this place if you're going to portland or the one in the island. With the one in corpus the office lady was laughing as if she were a little immature girl in high school. Receptionist rude beyond rude. NPs rush you through like a herd of cattle. Changed my blood pressure medicine with potassium to same blood pressure med without potassium. NPO after migdnight, appt at 10:00 am was seen at noon. read more

The staff was very rude. I took my husband who was sick in and being a nurse I have always been by his side to be able to help him when he is sick. As we got up to go back the nurse yelled at me. "Only the patient is allowed!" Niceness goes a long way when someone is not well. Maybe the staff here could learn a lesson on being nice. read more

I have used them as my primary care for a few years. I have always loved the NP- and they are why I recommend them. Their staff though seems super unhappy and unprofessional. I made an appt a week ago- I filled out my online forms to get my inhalers refilled and have a spot on my foot checked. I get there- and the lady who took me back was plain rude. She couldn't have cared less about patient care. One of the worst medical techs I've ever had. I told her about the inhalers and then showed her the spot on my foot- she told me that would be "2 appts one for urgent care so it would be two charges." You're kidding! This is MY DR OFFICE- why can't I ask? I just wanted to know if there was a lotion to buy. You want to scam me for another appt copayment. I was owed $36.99 in credit anyways- so you have had money owed to me. I told her I LISTED IT ON MY INTAKE FORMS SUBMITTED BEFORE the appt online- and she didn't care. I told her forget it- I'll find a new dr and she said, "okay sounds good." So I hope they know she costs them business- as I will be finding a new drs office. If you're my dr- and I made an appt for those two things. Telling me I have to pay urgent care prices bc one is primary and one is urgent care- honestly it sounds like a scam. If you just need the np and can get around the nonsense- I love their NP's. But I won't be mistreated by their techs, who don't care they are literally listed as my dr and refuse service for medical care. read more

Where to start? Access has been my PCP for about 9 months. My first visit was with Ms. Ruby and she was great. I had severe complications from Covid which triggered my RA and resulted in extensive joint and tendon damage. Ms. Ruby talked to me about a treatment plan. Unfortunately, she was only standing in at this clinic. My next visit was with Rudy who scrutinized the plan Ms.Rudy put together. His reaction to her visiting with me was bazaar. He even wrote orders stating I could only see him as my NP when I set up visits. Literally put it on paper. At this visit, I needed a referral to a foot specialist because the arch caved and I was barely walking, yet he said he didn't know why I needed to go because he wasn't sure what they could do for me. I got my referral anyway and after my surgery, which included three fusions, I can now walk upright. Everything after this has been a mess. Every referral was overlooked or not sent resulting in a month to get a specialist appointment. Blood work was "lost" and this last visit was the final straw. I had to wait 2 weeks for an appointment, even though I'm established, because I am only allowed to see Rudy. I get there, wait 45 minutes, only to be told Rudy is having car trouble but will be in shortly. I cancelled my appointment and am looking for a new PCP. I also want to add the staff is rude. They act as if they don't care if you come or go. They are snippy, unconcerned, and unapologetic. It felt like I worked for them when I came to my appointments. The atmosphere reeks Mean Girls and I just don't have the patience to deal with this level of unprofessionalism. I refuse to pay anyone to treat me like a burden. read more

My daughter is home from college during COVID and needed a non-related checkup . This was the only clinic that would invite her in and took great care of her. She's all better and we have a new favorite clinic. They followed up a week after the appointment and that's great service in my mind. read more

I had a excellent experience with this urgent care. It's hard to get into my primary care facility at the last minute. Had to go as a walk in and thought I would have to wait a long time, but I was surprised to get excellent quick service. Had been under the weather for a week and had to see a doctor. Dr. Lucio along with her staff treated well. Thanks for helping me to recovery. read more

They called me and told me my blood work was good only to find out from a student NP when being seen for a separate issue that the labs were actually very bad. Was told to come back to redo labs over the next day. Almost 2 weeks later and nobody there knows anything about the results. Have an abdominal issues that they tried to treat with antibiotics. It's only gotten worse so I went back to ask to be referred for a cat scan. Come to find out it's a hernia. Supposed to be referred out to a surgeon but guess what, I m still waiting for a any kind of notice. The issue and pain has become substantially worse. When I call to ask about information from the people they act like they are the ones paying me and are very agitated about it. I've been entirely polite, patient and respectful. Now I have no choice but to seek out another Dr or medical facility to try and see if I can have it taken care of. I'll inform my insurance company that a lot of money/time has been wasted and now there will be more $$$/time spent to start over with a new Medical group read more

Patient Profiling? AUG 5 2020, COVID conditions/restrictions in effect. This office is an in network provider for my insurance provider. I scheduled an appointment to establish myself as a new patient, my long time primary care provider left his practice. I am fortunate that I have no serious health concerns however; I do take 2 maintenance prescription meds daily. This visit will be for my annual wellness exam. Said exam includes your basic physical examination, vitals and specimen collection for lab testing. I was fasting, in the past 12 hours I had only consumed 2 glasses of water. I arrived completed all forms requested by staff, presented my insurance card and waited in patient exam room. Nurse practitioner Deleon enters performs the briefest exam I have ever had in my life, I inform him of the 2 maintenance meds I take daily and that I would be needing new prescriptions for said meds. He informed me I needed to return in a week for lab draws. I advised him I was fasting and could we not move forward with specimen collection now. [ COVID conditions, we are constantly being told do not venture out if its not necessary] Mr Deleon replies no you need to return next week. I ask what time next week he responds I don't know take it up with the girls at the front desk. He walks out of exam room I follow as he walks past the staff counter the flings clipboard with my recently completed documents. My impressions is he is upset, upset that I dare question the possibility of having lab specimens collected today. He did not say lab staff are absent, or lab is closed nothing by way of explanation other then no you return next week for labs. I stopped at staff counter informed them I was suppose to return next week for labs. Staff clerk informs me yes its because you will need to fast before lab draws to insure better lab results. I replied I have been fasting since 11 PM. Appointment is made for 7:30 AM the following WED. I leave. 2 hrs later I receive a call informing me Mr. Deleon does not want to see again I need to find me another primary care provider. Mr Deleon does not even have the courtesy or professionalism to come to the phone himself. My insurer will be billed for a wellness exam, the briefest exam I have ever received, no lab work, lab work is part of a wellness exam. No lab work means no prescriptions. Now I need to find me another health care provider and pay out of pocket for another wellness exam , since insurer only pays for 1 exam annually. Of course we cant forget I have to do this during the on going COVID restrictions. Truly medical professionalism at its finest, of course while demonstrating the greatest of concerns for senior citizens during this COVID pandemic. Not impressed. read more

I was having a really hard time trying to get a doctor's appt in the Rockport/Aransas Pass area, being from out of state, here for a few months with my husband's job. Either they didn't take self-pay, it would be over a month before I could get in, or I had to come in and pick up new patient paperwork, fill it out and bring it back, then they would "decide" if they would make an appointment for me. Crazy! I was so fortunate to find Access Total Care. I was not taken aback by the self-pay price. The staff from the front desk back are so friendly and sweet. My first visit, I saw the NP, Ms. Dixie, and she was so caring and thorough. My second visit, I saw Dr. Shahan, and I was so impressed with him. He is the only doctor I have ever seen who was willing to discuss other approaches besides just medication, for example, changes in diet and supplements. He is awesome. I hope I don't have to go back to the doctor while I'm here, but if I do, I won't go anywhere else. read more

This place is a joke!! My Mother had a referral to their Island practice in Corpus Christi for a CT scan only to find out, 3 phone calls later and no return phone calls from them as promised, that they do not do scans there, that the radiologists were closed and could not set up the appointment. We waited ALL DAY for a phone call for a same day appointment that the doctor wanted to do. Why could they not have told us thia after the 1st phone call we made? All they kept saying is that they would have to call us back- AND THEY NEVER CALLED BACK!! This place does not even deserve the one star we gave them. I work in a medical practice and if we were to operate such as this, we would not be in business. My advice...go somewhere else and certainly do not expect them to call you as promised. They suck. These are people's lives ya'll are dealing with. read more
