We were lucky to catch the open market itself on Saturday morning en route to lunch at the Haunch of Venison (the pub from 1320 - see my review). I came here twice with my mother-in-law to pick up a few fresh items (strawberries), direct from the farmers. The hardest part is finding a parking spot. Lucky for me, my mother-in-law had a handicap sticker, which meant that we were able to park right at the market square. I'm not sure what you do if you can't park on the street. There has to be a parking lot somewhere, I just didn't need to figure that part out. If you are in the neighborhood, stop in and enjoy! I'll be back the next time I'm nearby.

The staff stay discreetly out of sight and can see when help is needed. Jackie was relaxed, knowledgeable and friendly which made the experience so enjoyable we bought my engagement ring here. My girlfriend (Sarah) and I were left alone to browse the showroom without being pestered by staff and when we asked for assistance it was very attentive. Rachel, after a short discussion with us established what type of ring would be perfect for my girlfriend. Rachel was also very mindful of our budget and did not try to entice us to buy a more expensive ring. In fact she positively promoted a ring that was well under our budget figure as she felt it would be perfect for Sarah. She was right and Sarah loved the ring. After sales service was also great as the ring needed sizing, this was done promptly and without fuss. We also received a congratulatory bottle of Champagne - cheers H R Tribbeck & Son! They have good sales and reduce items quite heavily so watch out for this. The staff seem very friendly and willing to help. They must enjoy their job abd seem to know what they are talking about. If you are undesided about an item then ask them what they think and see if they will come up with an alternative.
