My 7 year old daughter and I started karate at Acclaim over a month ago. It's been a great experience joining Sensei Jay and all the other students. They made us feel like a part of their dojo family right away. Sensei Jay teaches traditional Okinawan karate and weapons as well as tai chi. He also teaches the importance of values and being a good person, especially in the kids classes. You don't go to Acclaim to learn how to hurt people. You go there to learn to be a better person both physically and mentally. Tuition is very reasonable, and you can even try the classes for a month free to see if it suits you. We tried two classes before deciding Acclaim is the martial arts school for us. And now my 5 year old son is eager to join his sister's karate class soon. read more

My two children have been training at Acclaim Protective Arts under the guidance of Sensei Overley for several years. We were warmly welcomed the minute we walked into the dojo. Along with traditional martial arts training Sensei teaches life lessons, faith, and discipline. Acclaim is not the same, it if a awesome place to learn traditional martial arts, tai chi and kubudo. I have been with Sensei for around twelve years and the traditional aspect has not changed one little bit and with direct ties to Okinawa. It is a great place to learn respect, honor, and other good morals. It has a great family atmosphere where you feel very welcome and encouraged in your endeavors, in and out of the dojo.
