Don't recommend the location at 107-15 Jamaica Ave, Richmond Hill, NY 11418 for the following reasons: (1) The entire staff is unprofessional! (2) Tardy - patients have to wait at least 45 mins to 1 hour to be seen; even though, scheduled appointments are given. Patients are there before the medical staff shows up and when the medical staff shows up - they are sluggish and slow as they try to organize themselves for the patients who have a scheduled appointment. (3) Don't practice SOCIAL DISTANCING - too many patients are booked for the same time causing the waiting lounge to be crowded and cannot sit / stand the CDC recommended distance - 6ft - from one another. (4) We are still in the pandemic and they would not allow a phone conversation simply to discuss results. Unfortunately, I have been here a few times, so I know for sure that my reasons listed above are valid. And I am willing to have a discussion with anyone who thinks different. read more

This office is horrible. We had an appointment with Dr. Chalik. We showed up 30 minutes early. They collected our co-pay, made us wait for over 2 hours, then cancelled saying the doctor had an emergency. We rescheduled for the following week. They cancelled again. They never treated us. We never met with the doctor. I asked for a refund of the co-pay, and still have not received it two weeks after we paid for a visit that did not happen. I am about to report them to our insurance carrier to get them removed from the network and the New York State licensing office. Very unprofessional practice. read more

Made appointment to see a doctor. Came on time. Been charged a co-payment. Had to wait to see a doctor for 45 minutes and there was only one patient in front of me. After all a nurse (as I found out later) came to see and me and when I asked her if she is a doctor, she said something confirming inaudible. I decided not to confirm at that point. Been prescribed unnecessary medications, with name of the doctor, I've never seen (illegal). Later found out that I was seen by N.P.(nurse practitioner), which not only not ethical, but illegal. This place doesn't deserve a one star rating. It should be -1. My father had a 20 minute in office procedure. We were on time for his appointment only have to wait 2 hours and 30 minutes!!!!!!. We only stayed cuz he needed to otherwise I would have left. Please, if you value your time find a different office. Dr Yuly Chalik is very courteous and well qualified in urology. He listens very attentively what you say and recommend you the best treatment. He treats you like very caring friend. Accord physician is a team of highly professional staff. They support and care you through every way. Recently I got lithotripsy from them to remove my kidney stone. I, too, had a very similar experience as the previous review. This review is also just about this clinic and not about the doctors, as I never got to see one either. Since I was required to call and make an appointment ahead of time and pay a co-pay, I also expected to be treated in an honest and reasonable manner. This was certainly not the case at New York Urologic Institute. Right when I got to the place there were patients everywhere, herded in this small, cramped waiting room, which definitely gave the appearance of one of those patient "mills". Of course I also had to pay the co-pay as soon as I arrived, and the girl at the front told me it would be just a short wait, which to me was hard to believe, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt. Like I usually do, I had arrived early, and after a time that was way after my appointment time, I finally decided to make my way to the receptionist and I was suddenly informed of the "unusual number of emergencies" that they were experiencing. This was the first I heard about this situation, which might have been more helpful (and more respectful) to me if I was told this when I first checked in. I was then reassured that I only had 1 more person ahead of me, but later saw numerous patients get called to the back as I waited and waited. It seemed to me like this was a common practice of this place so I quietly got ahold of one of the busy employees scurrying around and confided in me that indeed this was a standard answer they were instructed to tell patients who make a fuss about the long waiting time. This was all I needed to hear to finally make my decision to throw in the towel and make my exit, and let them keep my co-payment. As a note, I later 'googled' New York Urologic Institute and it showed that it was affiliated/partners with Accord Physicians, PLLC, a cancer radiation center, which might be one of the reasons this place does not put too much effort in patient satisfaction...maybe they should just focus on their own place before they want to branch out? So my advice is don't waste your time/money. read more

Unfortunately I can't begin to write a review of the doctors here... I never got to see one. You see, where I come from there are different kinds of clinics. Some require you to wait for a long time to see a doctor for free or low cost. These are inconvenient, but if you have more time than money it is what needs to be done. Doctors are poorly reimbursed and must make up for that by seeing many patients daily. Other clinics require that you call to make an appointment, require co-pays and make more money per patient. Of course there is another model that accepts no insurance and are very well compensated. These places tend to he very accommodating. Since I am lucky to have a job and it is expected that I must tend to people in an honest and reasonable manor; I expect to receive the same. This place models itself as the second, but treats patients like a mill. Just herd them all into the waiting room and let them wait until they become inpatient. Of course co-payment is done as soon as you walk in the door. So anyway, after arriving early and waiting for more than an hour after my appointment time. I wandered up through the grazing patients in the waiting room and made myself up to a spikey haired blond receptionist, Lucinda, who proceeded to tell me a story about the exceptional number of emergencies that had come in this morning. Obviously that would have been a reasonable excuse had they been respectful enough to tell me that as soon as I checked in... Once again I appreciate that doctor will squeeze in emergent patients, but these are not surprises when they occur before a scheduled patient shows up. Which leads me to think that either these people are extremely careless or they are blatantly lying to me. Which brings me to the next problem... Lucinda continued to tell me that I had only one person that had been waiting 1.5 hours in front of me. After continuing to wait and watching three more people go in before me (I thought there was one?) I grew restless and left. That may have been a little premature since I've obviously lost my copayment. read more

I love the response that the doc left on this review. What a joke. Its very easy to say that now...esp. on Yelp where you're just trying to look good to prospective patients who might be turned off by my review. However, I'm not going to let you mislead them so here is my update. After that half-A$$ apology I got over the phone the doctor agreed to send a new prescription to my pharmacy. The problem is he never did. Now I'm sure he'll write another response saying he did, he swore up and down to me he did. But here's the thing, I trust my pharmacy who has never wronged me over a doctor who couldn't bothered to check what allergies were listed on my chart before writing a script AND logic tells me he didn't. Here's why logic dictates he is lying: When the pharmacy told me they never received the new script I gave the doc the benefit of the doubt and figured there was just some glitch. So, I called the office to let them know and they said they would resend it. Great. But again, the pharmacy never gets it. I keep calling and the pharmacy keeps getting nothing. Now, I know the doc office has the right pharmacy information because the first script I was allergic to went through without a single problem. It gets to the point that I need to have a patient advocate get involved, the office assures her the matter will be rectified but of course it never is. Finally, I go for my next appointment, over a month later, never having gotten any medication I could take. I sit down with Dr. R and tell him that I'm pissed at the situation and he as the absolute audacity to tell me I have no reason to be mad. He continues to lie to cover his A$$ and insists he has nothing to be sorry for. That's right doc, you could have killed me because you couldn't be bothered to look at the chart or even actually talk to me and then you never send a replacement medication but you keep saying you did nothing wrong. To prospective patients: do yourself the favor and stay away from this doc. Its not worth the risk or the aggravation. read more

Accord Physicians - Urology - Medical Centers Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

I was very happy to find a urologist on the weekend (Sunday) in Brooklyn. The location is conveniently accessible by subway (B,Q) and just a block's walk to the location. I did not have an appointment - so as a walk in - I came very early knowing that I might just have to wait a long time. I was surprised to find that this was not the case - or I was just Lucky. The waiting room is somewhat small but that is not a drawback - as I was called into the into a examination room where I was able to see the doctor within the hour -!- The Doctor (Chalik MD) was courteous - asked all the pertinent question, did a preliminary examination, requested the assistant to do take the requisite blood and urine tests all in short order. In my case I had a kidney stone so I was asked to get ct-scan and x-rays to verify the preliminary screening analysis. The receptionists were able to set me up with the paperwork for scan and x-ray in sort order - as well as set up an appointment date ... I however had to return days before the appointed date - again as a walk-in ... and this was a weekday walk-in - - so again - I tried to get there as early as possible and was again surprised that I did not have to wait hours on end to get to see the doctor (As I considered the situation some what a little closer to an emergency visit). I was able to again see the doctor within an hour ... to which I can't say how grateful I am to say the least. On this visit the doctor was able to confirm the presence of the stone and its location and was able to squeeze me in for the ultra-sound stone crushing procedure the very next day. Again, even though there were many more people there on my last walk in visit - I have to confess that I usually go with a book to keep me occupied during the waiting period. Unlike other negative reviews, I actually had quite good experience with this medical center. Yes, it looks busy and packed when you get there, and yes, you have to wait there, maybe an hour or so, as in almost any office. My wife recently had to go twice to the skin doctor in the same area and both times she waited for about 3 hours. So I would say that waiting time here is more or less ordinary, not outstanding. I went to the office for a full checkup a year ago, and I guess it says a lot that this year I chose to return to this Institute for my next annual checkup. All the personnel, including the receptionists, were very friendly with me, and I found my experience quite enjoyable. One of the checkup procedures is the prostate sonogram (oy!), but even that part of my visit was acceptable due to a very sensible and gentle technician. Phew! Thanks so much! As for waiting, bring a book, or watch one of their very scenic High Definition documentaries on a huge screen. read more

TERRIBLE RECEPTIONIST AND DOCTORS ARE INCOMPETENT! I went here because I was having problems with my bladder. The first time I went here, took an hour to take xrays, and then another hour to see the doctor. When I did see the doctor, she couldn't even give me 10 minutes. Basically she just took down my history, said I had an UTI, gave me medicine and left. Now my regular doctor had been giving me antibiotics for 3 months now, and since those were not working, he sent me to this urology place. IF the doctor took 5 seconds to read my records, she would know that the antibiotics she prescribed were not working. I come back 1 month later, antibiotics are still not working, oh and apparently during my sonogram, the doctors found kidney stones. I am not even thirty, and even the doctor said that it is highly unlikely that I have stones. Yet she still gives me medicine for the stones, after consulting with 5 other doctors on what could be wrong with me. I come back another month later, same problems, no solutions. It's a new doctor this time. I ask about the kidney stones, and they disregard the fact completely and tell me to wait it out (it's been one month and kidney stones take around a week to pass when found). I am given new medicine and told to come back again. WHEN I try to ask what they think is wrong with me, the doctor does not answer my question and just tells me to come back. Update: I never had kidney stones to begin with. IF the doctors looked at xrays for more than a second, they would have been able to properly diagnose me. But the receptionist is the worst part of this company. I called to make an appointment for the xray that I was suppose to get. After being on hold for 10 minutes, I finally get through to someone. The lady makes my appointment, and is about to put me down until she puts me on hold. INSTEAD OF PUTTING ME ON HOLD AGAIN. When I get through, I am told that the xray department is currently close. I complain saying this can't be true because I was just on the phone with them two minutes ago. They deny this and tell me to call back in two days. I have also been trying to get this place to fax over my medical records to my family doctor, yet they will not do so. I have sent formal fax request, as well as called many times to fax over the results. read more

The staff is very attentive and professional, the office environment is up to the new modern style and the equipment is the highest quality. What a great office environment, support staff and Doctor! Truly impressed and grateful. Was referred here by my primary care physician for potentially low testosterone level. My first impression when I walked in was of entering a posh modern-art style Manhattan hotel reception. I was greeted pleasantly and filled out my 'first timer' paper work. The office offers free Wi-Fi, so I didn't have to waste my precious cell phone data. Big plus for us busy New Yorkers. The reception is spacious and was air conditioned, offering respite from the blistering humidity outside. I was called in shortly after completing the necessary paperwork. My urologist doctor Lyudmila Emag was pleasant, professional and accommodating. The visit did not feel rushed, which is a pet peeve of mine, my concerns were heard and addressed. The nurse took my bloodwork and I left the office relieved that I was treated with the kind of service expected from a professional medical clinic. I felt supported. Promptly, a day after, I received a message from the office with blood work results and the next step in treatment. Visited this office once and never again. Arrived on time for my appointment but still had to wait for over an hour. Since I had deductible with my insurance, the first thing they asked was MONEY. After a long wait in the waiting area and inside the room, finally got to see the doctor ( I assumed) for less than a minute and went home with one prescribed medication. Two months later, I came to find out from my health insurance statement that this office overcharged me at my first visit. I tried to reach their Billing&Payment department, but no one ever answered the phone and leaving voicemails was senseless as well. So I decided to speak with the front desk staff, I was told by the Asian female that they haven't received the money from my insurance and told me to call back in two weeks. Two weeks passed by, I called back again, this Asian female told me the same story with a very unpleasant and aggravated tone, and yet, cut me off whenever I tried to ask her questions. Very disappointed by their service and definitely more training is needed for them on interactions and hospitality with their patients. read more

one star is way too much for this place (I def can not call it institute) cuz I did not get the help and assistance that was needed. New York Urologic Institute took all these tests which were still inaccurate. They gave me the wrong diagnosis and of course provided me with wrong pills. I was taking those pills for two days, pain was getting worse, and I ended up in the hospital where they took the same tests. They told me to stop taking the pills provided by NY Urologic Institute because the diagnosis from NY Urologic Institute was wrong. NY Urologic cost me a lot of time as I waited for more than two hours in their waiting area, money, and my health. I ended up in emergency room after their wrong diagnosis. The actual pain in the beginning wasn't difficult to diagnose but the pills they prescribed me made my kidneys 10x worse. You shouldn't call them the New York Urologic Institute. You should call them the New York Uro Institute because they have no logic. I would not recommend them at all. Avoid at all costs. The worst doctors ever, they know NOTHING about kidneys. Doctors in the hospital were shocked when found out that I was in pain for few days and this "Instutute" couldn't figure out what it was!!!!!!! terrible experience read more
