During our consultation, the refund amount quoted was significantly lower than what we had calculated using a reputable tax software. When we asked for clarification, the tax preparer became defensive and repeatedly told us our calculations were wrong, but could not clearly explain why. We provided all the required documents and were still considering proceeding until he suddenly informed us that the fee would be $200 because our return was "tedious." This charge was not mentioned when the appointment began. When we decided not to proceed due to the higher fee and lower refund estimate, he became upset and demanded $150 for his time. I was pregnant at the time and found the situation very stressful, especially as he was unwilling to let us leave without paying. After a lengthy argument, he eventually accepted $75. My husband later filed the taxes independently and received a much larger refund than what had been quoted. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this service due to the lack of transparency, poor communication, and unprofessional conduct.

There was a long line and ma hasn't been 100% since she underwent a surgery about a year ago. Rather than have her wait in line only to be informed by the teller we would have to talk to a banker, I decided to have her wait and flag someone down. It was around lunch time and so, maybe that jad something to do with things? Anyway, the banker was kind and let me know he would send someone up and that if no one came by the time he was done he would help. A lady came. I appreciated the reaction and facial expressions when working with my ma. I love ma dearly, though there are times when others may be taken aback by her. The banker managed flawlessly and supported me as well in the peculiarity that is mom. Next day, I was heading to the corner store, I only had a $100 note on me. I figured, I could head into the bank and ask for change. Now, my ma may have added me to her account but it is not mine. Upon reaching the teller I was informed that I couldn't get change without an account? Wait? What? That is a bit crazy to me. This is a bank, right? They deal with money, right? So, why do I need an account to change out $100 for say 5 $20s? Crazy. If I had an account the way ma did I may kick up a stink over this but ok, I suppose it's the way of the world and I may stay out of it all. Crazy. Anyway, the tellers attitude adjusted ever so slightly when I offered that I didn't have an account but that I was just put on one. He swapped out my hundred but again, the whole thing was peculiar. Note to others, you can't swap out your change or do anything here without an account according to the teller who nearly chose not to assist me.
