I was attempting to remove stumps, excavate, and move soil to put in a gravel RV pad myself (back…read morein June 2021) with my little diesel tractor, when Jordan from Watson's Excavation was driving by and stopped to chat with me about our project. He took some quick measurements and got me an estimate and a couple options for our project later that same night. At the time, the project was not able to be done for various reasons on our side. The time finally came to get our project re-launched and I reached out to Jordan in mid-April 2022 to see if he was still available and interested in doing our project. We set up a time, and he came out to do a re-evaluation (in the pouring down rain), as there were a few changes to the original plan. Again, he took some new measurements and we discussed the changes. An updated estimate was provided that same day, and he made sure that I understood that he and his crew started early and to make sure my neighbors were notified. Upon arrival on day 1, we went over each step of the plan, so I knew what to expect from excavation, stump, and material removal, to grading, laying fabric, bringing in base rock, and top layer. As each layer of rock was brought in, it was graded, leveled, compacted, and rolled. Rain or shine, Jordan and his crew were hard at work, unaffected by what Mother Nature through at them. The project finished a little ahead of schedule with only minor finishing and clean up left to do. Once everything was done, Jordan walked me through everything that was done to ensure the completed project was aligned with our expectations. We couldn't be happier that we hired Watson's Excavation to do our gravel RV pad. The project turned out great and looks awesome! Jordan made sure the pad was designed in a way that will withstand tremendous weight without sinking and provided adequate drainage to prevent pooling from our wonderful Pacific Northwest rain fall, while also providing the option to install concrete at a later time with little effort. We now have plenty of room to park our RV, race car, truck, and plenty of overflow off street parking for parties. It would've taken me and my little diesel tractor months (or years) to complete this project on my own, which was 120ft x 18ft. Jordan made it look easy and he had it knocked out in just a few days! If you have any excavation or concrete needs, I would highly recommend Watson's Excavation. The only regret that I have, is not having him do this project sooner. We are already planning to use him for future projects.
