A number of years ago we remodeled our kitchen and spent quite a bit on appliances. We bought a built -n bottom mount refrigerator from KitchenAid (pre Whirlpool.) When we began having some problems, we searched around and called All American Appliance of Waldwick. The diagnoses was that the refrigerator (7 years old) was shot and would need replacing, which of course, the representative could supply. Now, I realize that machinery breaks down and I realize that nothing lasts as long as it used to, but even if a compressor and motor needed to be replaced, it had to be cheaper than a new unit. We passed and found Ace Appliance. Mark informed us that unfortunately the electronic controls were shot but the control card could be repaired and replaced for $ 500.00. Mark saved us about $6,500. Bumping this down from 5 stars to 2 and here is why. I have used Ace for 3-4 years. Hired them for various jobs in my home, referred them to multiple people. So I feel I have the right to mention when I feel ripped off. Our most recent repair in March. Not only did they charge us $270 for a part that goes for $50 to $100 on the internet, it is not even a genuine Whirlpool part! It is clearly visually different looking than the original and not nearly as effective. With the inflated price of that part, plus the charge for labor - it was more than half the price of a new washer. I would typically call them to argue, but honestly, the individual that has come to the house the past few times (not Marc the owner) is a wise ass and likes to argue about everything. We have had repeated problems with the ice maker on our Kitchen aid built in refrigerator. Due to a poor design in the mechanism that stops the ice maker and starts it again when ice is low, we have had to replace the arm mechanism. the first time the plastic piece broke off and this last time it fell off into the freezer. Each time the ice will keep being made unless I manually shut it off. VERY inconvenient! Most importantly, Ace discovered that my ice maker was worn and there was plastic remnants in our ice cubes. They replaced it quickly. Each time, our technician, Marc has been nothing but professional in his work product and his manner while at our home. We are grateful to have a technician we can call and rely on with our appliances! read more

I wanted to tell everyone that Mark is great!!! On Wednesday November 26, 2014 (day before Thanksgiving) my mother called to inform me that her stove was not working all of a sudden. I called Mark at Ace appliance repair. He asked her address and went over to the house and saved the day. Mom's spread was even more special because she cooked with love and joy in her heart that the stove was able to be repaired before Thanksgiving. Of all the years, this was the first time I brought a girlfriend over for thanksgiving and she was even impressed with me getting "Superman", I mean Mark over so quickly. Don't often write reviews.... this was just a great experience. 9 y/o gas dryer stopped drying....Searched the web.... at least 2 dozen repair shops....Came across Ace... read reviews...impressed. Called phone# ... went to Marc's cell....left message...call back within 5 minutes. Told him the problem, said he would be at my house bet 11 & 1. Works alone....in business for 20 years...very experienced. Pulled into driveway at 12. Very personable and polite... had dryer opened within 5 minutes, found faulty thermostat, had replacement in truck... 10 minutes later finished. Overall, not used to this excellent service. I found out my oven was dead this weekend before Thanksgiving. Was in a panic. Marc came to fix it today though I just called him this morning. Also fixed my leaky refrigerator. He had all the parts he needed in his truck and was in and out literally in less than an hour. Great guy, professional! After living in Glen Rock for over 20 years and going through a ton of appliance repair companies (who I've never asked back for a repeat visit), I finally found a reasonably priced, professional who I will continue to use from now on. He clearly knows his stuff and walked me through exactly what the problem was, never made me feel rushed, and charged a fair price without any surprises. He was able to come the next day and showed up right when he told me he would be there. I ended up needing a part for my dryer which he didn't have, he was able to get it the next day and came back when it was convenient for me and fixed my dryer. As I said, a really great experience. They would certainly be my first call if I need a repair. read more

We needed a repair of our dryer ASAP. Marc accommodated my days busy schedule and came to repair my dryer within an hour. Mark is amazing! I called him strictly from Yelp reviews after my refrigerator started acting up and he was at my house within 2 hours. He was super nice, honest, worked fast, neat and efficiently.
