asled for an approximate price over the phone for an igniter for stove. was told it was not an expensive part. the guy shows up. installs the igniter and was in and out in less than 40 minutes. charged 489.00!!!! 250.00 of that was labor!!! way overpriced!!! would have been cheaper to buy a new stove!!! shop around before you call this company. Good communication and prompt service. However I very specifically asked before I agreed if they had the parts for my model stove, and clearly described my issue, knowing it could be only a couple things wrong, with the hopes that it could be a one time service call. They said they do stock the parts. That was false. The technician knew nothing about it and said he had to order the parts and so of course had to return, which means you pay for 2 visits instead of one which I think is awful. read more

They fixed it same day for a fair price and gave me some helpful tips of items to look out for. They also provide a 90 day warranty for parts and labor, which provides a bit of security and peace of mind. They're also a small business, which is a positive. read more

Update: Owner contacted me to resolve the issue and will be refunding part of the charges, it is very appreciated Over Yelp the business said they could fix my specific fridge problem (Freon leak). When a different man than the one I spoke with came to our apartment, he immediately said he could not do anything about it, and we were responsible for the site visit fee. When we were automatically charged it was once for $174 and then again for $280, total $454 for no parts, no work, and 10 minutes on site telling us that nothing could be done. Easy scheduling, and on time. The gentleman was professional, polite and fixed our oven which I diagnosed correctly it needed a new igniter. It took less then 30 min at a hefty $350 with a $100 part. A bit steep in my personal opinion, but what do I know? I don't do this for living so perhaps I'm out of touch with reality. We would have spent a lot more to purchase this model oven. I am frugal and that gets in the way sometimes. I would use them again for sure, because they did everything they promised and service is also covered with 1 year warranty. read more

Our appliances began giving us trouble and we decided to explore the possibility to service them versus replace them. I called the Appliance Man of NJ and Robert came to provide an estimate. Robert was very knowledgeable and provided me with a quote to repair both the fridge and oven. He was also very honest and upfront by telling me it would be better to purchase a new oven. We didn't bother getting further quotes as the estimate were very reasonable and in line with what I expected. We decided to move forward with repairing the fridge and are glad we did. Robert was so lovely, and he repaired our dishwasher and freezer quickly, effectively, and they both work better than ever. Our dishwasher and freezer were both broken for six months and we were putting off getting them repaired because we've had pretty awful experiences with repairs in NYC and Brooklyn -- i.e. scheduling issues, rude service people, the appliance breaking soon after it was repaired, etc. But Robert was amazing. He was super quick to respond, very clear in his communications -- both in person and electronically, which is rare -- arrived early, and he was just super freaking nice and polite and respectful of our home. He fixed our dishwasher in probably five or ten minutes and didn't even charge us for it, and he performed a very complicated repair on our Liebherr freezer icemaker that other companies I reached out to told me they could not do and instead recommended I call the factory because of how challenging it was. Robert did it in a couple of hours, fixed another issue I didn't realize existed, and he gave us a great price. And we FINALLY have ice again, it's so great. I almost didn't book him because he didn't have very many reviews on here, but I hope the people he works with continue to review him and write about it because he was great and you should book him for your next repair -- one of the most cordial and effective repairmen I've met in New York. Robert and his crew took care of my Appliance issue easily and quickly. They were very respectful of my property, wearing booties over their shoes and being careful not to damage anything. I originally called because my dishwasher was very noisy and I did not know whether or not to replace it. He took it out did something with the hoses and now it is as quiet as a mouse. Nope. Call someone else. I called Appliance Man NJ for a leaking dishwasher. After not even looking for the source of the leak he tells me it's the 5 oz rinse dispenser in the door of the dishwasher that is leaking. It was obvious to me if it was rinse leaking it would be blue and it only holds 5 oz so that would stop leaking once it was emptied. It had been leaking for two weeks. He clearly had no idea what he was doing. I called in another repairman and he not only had looked up my model to determine age and possible issues but also knew that it was the water valve leaking not the rinse dispenser.... I wasted a lot of money for an incorrect diagnosis. I will say his communication was very good and I appreciate that but what a waste of money. read more

Because of the coronavirus epidemic, I have been cooking much more at home than I previously had. This past weekend, my oven stopped working shortly before I was about to bake a pizza around midnight. I immediately searched Yelp for appliance repair persons in the New York area. I contacted a few of them. Leo, the owner of Appliance Man NJ, responded promptly the following morning. I called the office. The person I spoke with said that there is a $95 dollar charge to send a technician to my place to diagnose the problem, but that the $95 would be credited towards any work I ordered from them. Robert, one of the master technicians, arrived at exactly the stated time and quickly saw what the issue was with my oven. He said that the problem I was experiencing was common and that he had a replacement part in his tool chest. The entire repair process was completed very quickly. While Robert was repairing my oven, he explained to me what he was doing and how the various components work. I also appreciated that he wore gloves, shoe covers and a mask. Overall, I was very pleased with the service I received. I will certainly call this company for any future appliance repair needs that I have. read more

Called to request a washer rubber boot replacement. The woman on the phone wanted to hit me with a $119 assessment fee first! I made it clear I know what service I want and my washer has no other issues. She said you may want to try someone else! They seem very shady to me as they fist want to charge $119 for nothing! Great experience, they are courteous and thorough and make scheduling so easy. We've worked with them twice and they always seem to go the extra mile. You can tell they really take pride in their work. This time we called because we got soapy water on the control board and thought it needed to be replaced. Turns out it doesn't and while Robert was here he not only made sure our washer was working properly he also checked our dryer, showed us how to clean the lint catcher to ensure that our dryer continues to run optimally, leveled the machines so they don't shake as much and switched the dryer door to open on the other side (which works better for our setup). I recently renovated my kitchen and as a part of the project I thought I had scored a 'home run' by finding a new-old-stock Viking oven at a massive discount from a wholesaler. After building it into the cabinets and firing it up (or not), I was disappointed to discover that it was not fully operational. Still having spent a good chunk of change (even with the discount), I was distraught, but Rob showed up and was able to diagnose the problem quickly. He had to order a part, and let's just say that my "discount" on the purchase price of the oven disappeared pretty quickly, but he got the oven working correctly right away and now everything is good to go with a 1-year warranty.
