Ok folks, I live in downtown Portland, and unfortunately I sometimes have to use this bank location…read moreto pay my rent......This Chase bank location is a JOKE - there is NO bank teller to assist you if you have a question- but you do get a "greeter" that instructs you to use one of the non-broken ATMs. If you are needing to make a rent payment like myself, or anything that might require a cashiers check, you will only get cash from this location AND you will have to pull out multiple transactions for a large amount. I personally seen ALL 4 employees at this location sitting at their work stations, with BLANK turned off computers, reading books, having personal conversations or playing around on their phones- Must be nice to have a job that pays you to do nothing all day. I came in to pick up foreign cash I'd ordered. When the transaction of getting foreign cash was completed, I shared feedback that I was surprised I hadn't received a courtesy email or call given I'd paid a rush fee and the staff member interrupted stating "the computer takes a bit to update." I finished my thought sharing I could see that someone at this branch signed off at 9:30a (it was noon-ish). I opted to further add that I was asked to wait there when I first walked in rather than offered a seat or alternative when they went in the back to retrieve my delivery. Overall ambience/layout of that location is odd and will go elsewhere if I ever have in person banking needs.

This process takes up to 13 weeks to get your monies due to their lack of service these days! Today I was able to redeem a large Series EE bond at the Umpqua Bank Sellwood branch on SE 13th in Portland. The Umpqua Rep was Andrew Sorensen who was efficient, courteous, and extremely helpful. I utilized Umpqua because my primary bank (for the past 60 years!!), U.S. Bank will no longer redeem bonds for their long time customers! It was indeed refreshing to find that there is still a bank in town that provides true customer service and put their customers above corporate profits! I am seriously considering moving all my banking to this small, customer driven Umpqua branch because of this instance and others in the past. Kudos Andrew and Umpqua Bank and shame on U.S. Bank!!!
