I started here as a student in 5th grade up to 8th grade, starting 6th grade I have had horrible experiences with not only the administration here but many of the teachers. Almost every year here I have been called up to the office for 'inconveniences' they believe were me just because of my 'record'. Keep in mind, I have NEVER received a detention here or at any of the schools I have ever been at, they have accused me of flooding the school, fighting, talking sexually, even have been written up for these claims, but never have I done such and their only proof was random rumors spread about me, I was purposely targeted from Mrs. Goshow & Mrs. Nash (AS Principal and Principal) due to the fact I brought up major concerns to them every year that were necessary to address. Speaking of that, if you are a parent who does not fund the school, participate in PROP, or has/has had an A+ student, you will not be listened too. My parents have been belittled and dismissed on major safety concerns regarding teachers and the facility. When it comes to the facility, you do not expect a K-8 school to be perfectly clean, but Painted Rock is disgustingly filthy; the pipes in the bathrooms leak and flood, there has been a broken window that has yet to be fixed as of the time I left (May 22nd), the floors are cracking and have stains all over them, theres black mold on the ceiling vents in the bathrooms and in office hallway, there is a hole in one of the walls, and the AC constantly gave out and leaked all over our desks from the tiles. I addressed all these problems to admin, but I was yelled at; told I was wrong, and called directly to my face I am 'sensitive' and a 'liar'. When it comes to SPED classes, they do not 'teach' your child to be better, they do not teach them how to comprehend a lesson, they automatically pass a SPED student, and it encourages low effort. No child in the SPED classes are equally cared about, some are more cared about than others, some are ignored, some are spoiled by the teachers. I know this as I had several friends from those classes approach me. There are some great teachers, but many yell, bully, and discourage. They are there simply to come and go, they do not care about their students, do nott get me wrong, they have some pretty good teachers though. (FYI: Only 80% of the teachers are qualified.)

From my experience, the parents are also stable and level headed In this day and time, this is very hard to find and I consider this school to be a diamond in the rough. As someone who grew up on the east coast, I am greatly appreciative that this school is available as a free charter school and not a small private school with high out of pocket tuition costs. This type of school would cost a fortune on the southeast coast.

The school is also on the smaller side. A red flag I've noticed Upon research is that paraprofessionals only get paid $15 an hour and only need a high school diploma or an equivalent. based on what my son's told me most of the teachers are paraprofessionals or what they call "paras". The infant room teachers made me feel so comfortable and most importantly my baby girl loves it! It's only been a couple months but she leaves with a smile on her face and doesn't cry when I drop her off anymore. The app updates are fabulous- they tell us what she ate, when she napped, diapers changed and of course the best part PICTURES! I love that they send me pictures of her while I'm at work. You have the usual hiccups with a new baby at daycare- lots of illness being spread between the kids, but they are really good about giving us notice for when stuff is starting to spread. The classrooms are clean and despite all the other kids in the room I really feel like my little girl is getting a lot of individualized attention. Seriously amazing place I can't recommend it enough Update: She has since moved into the older classroom and her teacher is also phenomenal! She learns a lot and is always coming home with new pictures and her vocabulary is really taking off. They also threw a really cute event for Halloween and have fun parties. Just absolutely love this place and the teachers- Ashley the director, Josie in the infant room, Emily in the 1 year old room and Kayleigh in the older 1s and 2s (I think that is her name, yikes I feel bad) are some of the stand outs. Daycare is of course expensive but for the quality of the teachers, it's really a great value.

My youngest both started here at 6 weeks old and have been here since! The staff treats them like their own and my kids love going to play with their friends!! Highly recommend! In response to knight: When I spoke with Knight he stated "she actually did worse than her first score(assessment)" I'm not sure where those testing scores below came from but they are not accurate. According to Knight my daughter wasn't doing well. Is my daughter doing well or not? This place is a scam don't waste your money or time. My major concerns: *many occasions there were more than 5 students in a tutoring setting session * My daughter stated she was typically in a group doing her own homework or was sat on an iPad to do math problems. Basically her "touring" was when she had a question, someone walked over to her to "assist". *Group tutors are teenagers The communication within the origination is terrible. I dropped off my daughter for an amassment (at my request) and no one gave my daughter the assessment. I had to take time off work and drop her off another day to take the assessment. My 5th grader spent countless hours in "tutoring" group sessions which were never logged. They never fingerprinted my daughter so there is no record of her attendance. When I asked for an assessment I was told to wait. I knew in my gut she needs to be reassessed to see if the group setting was working. My daughter took her 2nd assessment upon my request to see where she is at with her math and she scored lower than her first assessment. So what this says is that the group setting did not work and I wasted time and money because she was never given any assessment to see if it was really working. You do not receive any updates of your child's progression. They do not work with teachers even if you give each party permission to speak to one another. I was given a learning plan but there were no real goals with deadlines just items to focus on. This is a total JOKE and a waste of time. I suggest not to allow your child to attend here.

The staff at the Autism academy Peoria/Greenway campus seems to be a bit lazy if you ask me , often…read moretimes they are calling me claiming my kid is sick or coughing when no such symptoms are happening at home , Monday my child was out of school for a dentist appointment , they claim he was cough so uncomfortably , 1 coughing after the procedure is normal and he was released by his doctor to return to school the following day second he did not cough a single time Monday all day and nothing after he was picked up according to his nanny , I attempted to advise them and give them discharge paper work , which they told me he was sick (obviously they are medical professionals all the sudden ) and that he would have to see a doctor to return back to school , not only is this an inconvenience for a working parent it's unnecessary to say you won't accept a note from his dentist who performed the procedure it's costly and down right lazy , several times they mentioned my son was in a bad mood which seems to be the real reason they don't want him in school. Last year I had to take my son to the doctor so many times unnecessarily because of the same thing which every time his doctor said he was not sick and was fine to be in school . I these people seem to think parents have nothing better to do then go to the doctor everyday to satisfy them . I will be telling all of the parents I know and leaving post on every available platform .

The teachers are always amazing, caring, patient, and attentive to the children's individual needs. You can tell that they genuinely love what they do and care about the children.
