When I needed a cab last week, I googled cabs in Hoddesdon and just dialed the first listing that stood out to me. And I got Phil at Tower Taxis. Phil is prompt and Phil is friendly. Both are excellent qualities in a cabbie. But the best thing about Phil is the prices. I found him to be slightly lower than other local services. On one occasion Phil quoted me a price for a trip out of town. When he actually took me there the next day, he found himself to be WAY off the mark--about £20! Instead of being an ass and charging me what the meter said, he allowed me to pay what he quoted the night before. I found this very refreshing as I've been screwed over by cabbies in the past (yeah, I'm talking to YOU All American Taxis in Chicago). Thanks, Phil. I'll be ringing you up again soon!

I called Abetta to let them know that it is my friend who needs to receive the confirmation information and I re-iterated my friend's number. The male Abetta staff said the confirmation had gone to my friend's number and not mine - despite me looking at the relevant text on my phone!!! I thought how odd, and hoped this was the end of it. However, despite never contacting Abetta again since, I have been receiving a few, erratic confirmation texts from Abetta to which each I texted STOP! This offensive situation escalated early last Saturday morning when Abetta called (!) me to discuss a booking!?? I again told them that I had nothing to do them, that I had not made any bookings with them ever! The male Abetta staff he would look into this. But this morning I received yet another booking confirmation text, to which texted STOP. This is now unacceptably intrusive. I hence called Abetta to tell them to stop this harassment once and for all, but the female staff was extremely unfriendly, und unwilling/unable to even hear me out. She talked over me in an angry voice insisting that I booked cars with them!!! She was hell-bound to accuse me and unable to even consider for a moment that - given my experience - Abetta's system is flawed. I insisted the harassment be stopped, but she said 'EXCUSE ME a booking was made using your number...' Abetta's system is obviously flawed. Fix your system. Train your staff. STOP the harassment.

This is what a taxi service should be like! This driver was prompt and courteous and very…read morefriendly--we had a nice chat about American football on the way to my appointment. I asked him to return in an hour and to meet me at the pub across the road. I was in a job interview and the employer happened to be extremely chatty and I was there well over an hour and wasn't able to let the cabbie know I was running late. He went to the pub to collect me and when I didn't show up, he came back to the office building where I was dropped off and patiently waited for me to come out. And when I finally did, he was just as cheerful as before. He could have easily left since I was so late and couldn't reply to his text, or at the least, started the meter up while he was waiting, but he did neither. After bad experiences with other taxi services, it was refreshing to find one so helpful.
