This 5 star review is long overdue. I cannot speak highly enough of Martin, my driver for Ace Townecar and Limo. I travel often and count on him for reliable airport transportation. Let me share an example of his outstanding service; this one really goes above and beyond. I was traveling home for an unexpected family situation...my mental state was "exhausted, overwhelmed and frazzled" and I was running late for my early morning flight - so much so, that I totally forgot my suitcase that was sitting outside my front door. Yes, I left without my suitcase. When I walked out to the car I just grabbed my carry-on bag and purse and hopped in. I realized what had happened after we pulled up to departures at the airport - and panicked! Martin was calm, made some phone calls to juggle drivers for his other clients, and then raced across heavy morning traffic to retrieve my bag I'd left at home. Thankfully, it was still there. Martin got the suitcase, drove BACK to the airport fighting more traffic, and made it just in time for me to catch my flight. All with a smile. What a great guy! They are definitely worth the price for long out of town trips when parking on-site does not make sense and/or your friends and family cannot drop you off or pick you up. We used Ace for five people going from Hobby to Galveston. We were met on time and the driver helped us get our luggage from baggage claim to the SUV. We got loaded up and headed for Galveston. The driver got lost trying to find Moody Gardens hotel. I had only located it on Google maps but I ended up giving directions from the back seat. I am actually so late with writing this review, and I apologize to Marty because I wanted to get this out immediately. We live in Pearland, and are not from this State. Getting a car service to IAH made me a wreck as I'd heard not such good comments from my neighbors...being late, not showing up.....I went to Yelp immediately and found Marty! I can't say enough about this man! We had an early flight across town leaving for Europe and I was a wreck..he allayed my fears, but being double AA battery nervous, it didn't help until the morning of our trip. Marty came himself, 20 minutes early, because he'd heard "the nerves" in my voice! That was it! I'm a customer for life. In addition, we were returning right after the Imelda storm, and were faced with all sorts of news about closing airports. When I landed in Philadelphia, I called Marty again, and he was "on track to pick us up" from a late flight I might add. Again, right at the baggage claim, he was waiting for us. Deceptive pricing. What else are they hiding? In full disclosure, I only attempted to use this service. I asked for a quote and was given a price which I thought was fair. Then when I started making the reservation the price suddenly went up by $10 per trip. When I asked about it I was told that it was a "service fee" (and was not gratuity). Great experience with this company! Sent them an email online telling them the dates and places we needed to be driven. Martin promptly emailed me back with a price quote. Then he called me a couple days before the pick up to get my credit card info. Service was prompt. Our driver was very nice and the SUV was clean. Prices were reasonable. Be aware that the price they quote you does not include a 20% gratuity that they add automatically. They will tell you about it when they take your credit card info, but not when they give you a price quote. I was fine with this as it was nice not to have to worry about carrying tip money for the driver and I felt he totally deserved a 20% tip. However, if you like to have control over what you tip someone, this might be an issue for some customers. read more
