This is NOT the same Acme Fence from when used in the past. Troy, the main scheduling contact, was less than honest or forthcoming from the very beginning. What was supposed to be a 1 week project turned into 3 weeks by the time it was finished. The finished product is pretty decent quality, although the double gate isn't quite right. The only reason they got 3 stars is because my wife wanted that high, but I personally lean towards 2 stars. I would never recommend this company strictly because of being strung along through the process. As for value, I could have probably gotten the same price elsewhere, but erroneously just went with these guys based on previous experience. But, like I said, it's not remotely the same company. I found out after they started that the business was sold by the previous owner and the new owner is running it into the ground for profit. read more

I am so impressed with the vinyl fence Acme just installed. The quality is superior. I had a vinyl fence where I moved from (from another company), and while I never thought there would be that big of a difference, I was wrong! I can't exactly explain it, but the sturdiness and quality just seems so much better (my dad said the same thing!). My yard is somewhat of a mess, because a bunch of work was done to it last year - ripping down/tearing out extremely large trees, laying new pipes, among other things. It truly is a mess. I was so thrilled that they were able to do it, even with everything I just mentioned. Of course, as everything is these days, I ordered it slightly over 2 months before it was installed, but I feel like that is across the board - no matter what you are trying to do anymore. Mike was my salesman, and he was super kind and thorough. He walked the grounds with me, measuring the layout and asking for my wishes. Connie was always kind as well - any time I called in. On day 1, I worked from home all day (which I was told I would only be needed for the first 30-mins., which would have been true - but a nice excuse to work from home!). One guy from the crew had my paperwork in hand and did another walkthrough of the grounds to ensure what he was looking at was what I wanted. Also, Randy returned calls to me after hours, which I wasn't expecting at all. There were 2 things I was disappointed in. 1. The driveway was/is a mess. I understand it's all part of what they're doing, but it's going to take me quite a while to clean (I'm hoping for rain...haha). 2. Regarding the excess dirt from digging. They started to put it by the side of the garage, which was my request and perfect (out of the way and still hidden); however, the remaining pile was left inside the fence, behind the garage. A nice little place for the dogs to go buck-wild! All in all, I really am pleased. I can't explain it, but this fence just makes my house and yard look so much nicer! I popped some solar lights on each of the posts, and it's just perfect if I do say so myself! THANK YOU!!! read more

NOT HAPPY. My fence project was delayed by material not arriving in a timely manner. They made me pay half down and then didn't show up for 3 months. Then they put up HLAF of the dance and demanded $2500 more. Then they DONT SHOW UP to finish the fence. They sent their crew elsewhere. So I then call to complain that the crew isn't here and I am not happy, and Im told over the phone "don't start with me". I AM THE COSTUMER!!! They also left a huge mess on my driveway and didn't clean up after themselves. They do things on their own time not yours. read more

Contacted company and it took sometime for them to get back to me. When they did the woman I spoke with was friendly but took quite sometime to get back to me with a pricing. I actually sent a couple of messages reminding her. There were some issues with the heat therefore she got caught up in that. I sent a message saying I was no longer interested in receiving the quote-she sent the quote after the message. Followed up with a question about the email pricing and still haven't heard back from her. Clearly, I'm not going with this company. I suggest you shouldn't either. read more

Had a date and time in place for two months for work on my fence to begin. When I woke up that morning and saw how badly it was raining, I was surprised they had not called to cancel, and was surprised they'd be working in that kind of weather. But after almost an hour past the time they were supposed to begin work, nobody had showed up. I called and learned they had indeed decided to cancel the appointment, but nobody had bothered to tell me. I asked when they would be coming out to do the work, and was told someone would call me "eventually." After hearing nothing all day, I called back at the end of the day to ask if someone could please let me know when they'd be out to do the work. I was told they'd do it the next day, weather permitting. Well they showed up the next day and put in the fence poles, then told me someone would be along to finish the job once the cement has set. I asked when that would be, and was told I'd have to call the office to find out for sure, but it'd be in about a week. A couple of days later, a truck pulled into the driveway and dropped off some materials in my backyard, then left without saying anything to me. A day or so after that, some men showed up and did most of the rest of the work, and said they'd be back the next day to finish. They showed up the next day and did most of the remaining work, but said because one of poles was loose, the company would have to send out someone to repair that before the gate could be installed to complete the job. I asked when that would be happening, and was told "eventually." Well a couple of days later some men showed up and did some work and left, without a word to me. They returned a couple of days later and finished the job, again leaving without a word. I think the work was good and the price was fair, but this company has a real problem with customer communication. Expect them to make no effort at all at communicating with you (believe it or not, this is a truncated version of my experience with them). Based on my experience, you'll have to be proactive and pester them repeatedly to get updates on when to expect your work to be done, but the work will get done and done well. read more

I had a fence installed in June, was to be a normal job, holes n posts installed one day then a couple days later the rest of fence was to be installled. Most went ok even though I had delays and issues throughout. I have an unglued filler at another area and I am left with a 5-6 inch gap between my house n the fence. I am not a fence expert and they being fence experts never brought to my attention that there would be a gap, so I asked to have a filler put in. I marked the height so they would know where i wanted it. The guy came out and put only a 2-2 1/2 inch filler in........why didn't he completely fill the gap? I was told he was sick that day and was told he would be back out, well it's November and still have a big gap. Be patient they said. So, if you do NOT want answers to your text messages, are ok with delay after delay, you don't care if there is some fabrication, if you want incomplete work or work not to your satisfaction then by all means call them. HOWEVER- if you want answers, timely install, true and honest answers I suggest you call someone else. Oh yeah...Don't pay your final amount until your satisfied, I paid on good faith that they would complete to my satisfaction- that was a bad move on my part. read more

It started with us going to their website and filling out the form to request a quote. Yet after several weeks and several additional requests sent and still no response my husband called and spoke with a very rude woman whom he described as "she seemed very put out and upset that I called" but he scheduled a quote despite this.We had to wait nearly 2 months for our quote appointment but the gentleman that came out was nice. The quote seemed really high so we messaged the company to have a quote wrote up for half of our fencing project instead. After 2 weeks of sending several messages for that 2nd quote and hearing nothing we have obviously decided to not hire this company! Acme has disappointed and angered me every step of this process. In October, 2019, requested a quote for an electronic gate. I received and accepted a quote in early November. I was told (after they charged 1/3 of the price) that the gate would be installed right after Christmas, so I arranged to be off after Christmas. I called on December 23rd to see when they would be by to start the install. I was told that it would no occur after the new year! I called on January 7, 2020, and Randy tells me that the installers would be out that Friday. The installers show up on January 10 without any advance notice. My neighbor sends me a text to let me know that they were at our houses (as he was having Acme install a fence for him). Unfortunately, the installers installed the posts in the wrong places (not according to the detailed drawing on my quote). The installers come back out on Saturday to reset the posts. Two days later they charge my credit card for the 2 payment. I have to follow up with them on January 27th for an update, only to be told by Randy that the gate was not ready; they were looking to install the following week. I call on January 30th, told that they would definitely be out on Monday. I call on February 3rd; told "tomorrow". They show up on February 4th, without any advance notice. I see from my security cameras that the gate was set too high off the ground (I purposely chose this particular style so that it could sit lower to the ground to prevent my little dogs from escaping). So, I rush home and spend nearly 3 hours waiting for the installers to finish my neighbor's yard, hem and haw about how I should have let them do it their way the first time. Well, excuse me, but I was going off of the drawing made by the sales person, a former installer himself. They then had to reassemble the gate so that it swung out the opposite directions. I also learn on that day, that Acme outsources the mechanics of the electric gate. On February 10th I call for an update. Randy tells me that, because I had them change the swing of the gate, he had to order an extra part for the motor, but he expedited the request and they should have it in a few days. They knew of February 4th they needed the new part and here it is February 10th and he's waiting for it to be "expedited". I will never use this company again and will never recommend them to anyone. Never heard of the customer having to do so much following up. Throughout this whole process, not once did someone from Acme call me to discuss this matter, even after I sent a very detailed email to Randy and Ben the sales person. read more

I had a fence installed by this company and it cost me $800 to have the septic tank pipe replaced that they drove a pole through. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They didn't even try to help me resolve the problem. I have the evidence provided by the company that corrected the problem. So I can back up my review. read more

Gave them check, and when I called for date, Randy said he can't give me a date!!! Our job was "too small" we would be worked in when they were in the area and had time. Of course I was not satisfied since we already paid $860, he said "before Sept". OK, before Sept 1st.... his reply was, "well maybe Sept 1st or 2nd. Today that date changed to 9/23/2020. ACME Fence did a complex fencing job for me over 2018 including (1) Vinyl fencing for an orchard (4 Trees) in my front yard that had to be aligned with my house perfectly as well as run next to a gas line; (2) Vinyl fencing for a small area to protect a sewer access, (3) Vinyl privacy fencing to obscure my back yard from road traffic view; (4) Vinyl property line fencing to obscure my neighbor's garage (facing the property line) from road traffic view. My neighbors comment how nice the fencing all looks and works (privacy fencing) & I like how it looks/works as well. I would recommend this company for vinyl fencing since their final product is well planned/implemented and the owner will work with you if there are concerns. However, you must be patient with scheduling since cement setting, weather, and cold/flu season can make a 2-day job turn into a 3-day job. read more

Quality Poor - FairExhausting experience! I should have paid a couple hundred more and used Home Depot! The receptionist at Amce Fence is the only nice thing I will say about this provider, she was always very polite and courteous after the NUMEROUS calls I had to make to complain. To sum it up, it took them weeks to schedule, I asked for a straight line back and they put most of the poles straight except one they put 4 ft into my neighbors property. After complaining they said "we are not surveyors", your telling me you as a professional cannot install a fence straight?! After that several more days to remove the misplaced pole, several more days to put it in right, more days to dry. Then comes fence install, knowing I have a small dog there were gaps and dips and holes everywhere! Complain again and sent them pictures to show the serious issues in craftsmanship. Again we WAIT for someone to come out and fix it. Never once did we get an apology for this 2 MONTH process (for 1/2 backyard fence). I would NEVER refer anyone to this company. read more
