I was recommended by another locksmith to go to this place. and it was definitely worth the visit. it seems they can do almost any type of key you can imagine, and their service is not overpriced. They are also pretty efficient at what they do. so i would so highly recommend you to come here to make duplicate keys for anything, and they are also priced fair. such as Fobs at condos which condos like to charge 75-100. they charge $25 here, and they work of course. will for sure come here again if need to read more

I stopped in to get a couple mailbox keys cut since I was in the area and I had been there before. I gave the guy behind the counter the original and after some searching he came back to the counter and told me "We have it, it will be $19.50 for the first key and $9.50 for every key after that". I looked at him and asked "You want $30 for two small keys? That's a little ridiculous". He gave me a crooked smile and said "That's the price". I replied "I'll think about it" and headed for the door. The guy behind the counter then called to me - "You know, you are not going to find this key anywhere else!" I looked back at him and said "I'd still like to think about it" and walked out the door. I went back to my car and looked in the rear view mirror to see if I had the word SUCKER written on my forehead. I drove down the street to RONA and they had an equivalent key in stock. I was charged $3.79 a key. It works perfectly. I try to support independent businesses over chains but I can't justify getting blatantly overcharged. I had ordered a replacement spare car key online and I decided to go with a professional locksmith service to have it cut. After looking for a place in my area I came across some that were just mobile services. I had heard that there was one located at Warden Ave./Lawrence so I searched and ended up calling Acme Lock & Key. I explained that I had a transponder car key (with a chip) that only needed to be cut, since I had the instructions to program it. The guy was very friendly and told me everything that I needed to know, including that they can't guarantee keys not sold by them and sometimes people even bring in the wrong key. They sell replacement car keys for $75 and up. I brought in the original key with the new uncut key and the guy who works there was extremely pleasant and had great customer service skills as well. He told me that I had brought the right key. In the time it would take to blink twice, he was probably done cutting the key. He didn't even ask me to check it. He charged $10 in total which was a little more than I wanted to pay, but the key works flawlessly and on both sides, and opens the doors and the trunk. After I programmed it, I could start the car. After a few uses it got easier to insert. Being the perfectionist that I am, I later inspected the key very closely at home. I'd give it 10/10 on functionality. On aesthetics I'd have to give it a 7/10. I noticed that he took some material off, 6mm in length, along of one of the straight parts of the key (on the shaft/stem between the cut teeth and the bow). So one side is rough and uncut while looking perfectly straight and the other is slightly uneven where he polished off a little material. Again, this is just me being picky. This is one of the services that you don't really need until you need it. They make all sorts of other keys as well. This place is great. I needed to get my condo keys cut in a big hurry and called a few places downtown where I work who all quoted me a high price and were only open 9-5. I live near here and honestly hadn't noticed them- but when I read the reviews I thought I would give them a try as it was so convenient. The man who cut my keys was extremely helpful and nice- he must have made the two sets of keys I requested in less then a minute- I was actually shocked! He also offered to make them in different colors to make it easier for me- a really nice gesture, and actually very helpful! The keys are perfect and work just as well as the originals. It was very inexpensive and I really appreciated that I could go here after work as they are open later. I can't remember the last time I received service as effective, efficient, and friendly as this place. It is is a shame I don't need keys cut more often, I wish every business I had to deal with was like this! read more

i tried getting a key cut at home depot for our front door and due to its style they just could not get it right.. more than once!.. ended up going to acme and they got it right the first time.. slightly pricier than Home Depot but i was in and out in 5 mins and had no issues. read more
