Have been shopping here for the last seven years or so and I'm starting to recently see quality drop particularly in the organic vegetable and fruit area. They tend to keep things on the shelf longer than should be there. On several occasions, I've bought vegetables and fruits that were on the edge of mold. Prices on uncertain items in the deli area have gone up significantly .I thought that this was a little less expensive than ShopRite. read more

Racially profiles customers and follows them. Prevents customers from buying all the food they need and will ask customers to place the food back themselves. Manager is nasty and accuses customers of buying per person even though we came together as a family to make one purchase. Manager picks up newspaper and make fake limits for purchases if you are not caucasian. Honestly deserves 0 stars for nasty service and racism. Will be filing a complaint with the BBB. read more

Acme markets have been around for years. This particular chain took over the failed A&P at this location. It kept most of the same employees. This market has improved its image over the years. Some items are higher-priced than those same items in other supermarkets and some are lower so you have to shop carefully but keep it realistic. Don't go 5 miles out of your way because you can get dairy and meats cheaper. Wasted gas & time is not overly realistic. This market is in a prime location of Wall Township with plenty of available parking. Acme is owned by Albertsons Inc, which can be seen in Southern Florida. read more

When back east for the Summer in Spring Lake, N.J. This is my Favorite Store. As a youth I would shop at both the Belmar and Manasquan stores. There Meat Department and Fish Departments are Quality products. Some say their grocery products are a bit higher then other stores, but I always find a deal in this store. They have ton's of hidden specials and quality Meat and Fish you can 100% Trust will always taste great. The produce department just breaths quality as soon as you enter, always kept in great shape and their on premises bakery and breads, and bake goods are the best. By far this store beats the quality of products then any grocery store around it for 5 miles. My Opinion. I seek out Acme Meats and Seafood over the other markets in the region. The staff is always helpful and management seems to always resolve any and all issues when one may arise. I always use the cashier check out lanes since it creates a job. read more

I've been a customer here for many years, back when it was an A&P and into the various transitions of Acme. Most of the staff is pleasant and helpful; it's not easy working with the public. Store is clean though sometimes the restrooms need cleaned more frequently than they are. There is a Starbucks at this location but two others within a mile; these are the least experienced baristas. Fairly well-stocked. Unfortunately, they've changed around the store 3x already and often drop items formerly stocked so it can be hard to find what you are looking for. Customer service can usually help but don't plan on Acme being a quick trip, although self-checkout lanes recently added speed it up even with technical difficulties. Occasional buy one get two free deals can be great. However, usually before a sale the meat is marked up very high that it's not a good deal. If you buy Bell & Evans chicken or produce, organic or otherwise, Whole Foods across the street is a better deal. Also for cold cuts, Whole Foods has higher quality selections. Organic yogurts, speciality milks, are all a dollar plus cheaper at Whole Foods. Acme is the place for paper supplies, standard loaves of bread, ground beef, pork, and standard brand snack items as well as wider selection of frozen items. Everything else I go to Whole Foods as many products are better, cheaper, and local if at all possible. Watch the meat/seafood counter. The same person serves both, changes gloves but doesn't always wash his hands in between, creating risk of cross-contamination. Same for cleaning up bare handed, then putting on gloves to serve customers and touch the meat without handwashing first. I've had to tell folks to change gloves here moving from packing raw meat on the back counter to getting raw meat out of the case, but then it's happened at Whole Foods too. Potentials for food-borne illness here. I would not recommend the seafood at Acme, which often smells of chlorine bleach. Another area Whole Foods reigns; few staff are as skilled and customer-oriented as WF's fish mongers. That's it. I go to both places, but sometimes Acme's inflated sale prices on meat seems like false advertising and leave me feeling like they aren't quite honest. read more

Super nasty employees. Everytime I go there I am reminded of why I'm not there often, everyone is super nasty. Today the baker had a fit because I wanted to write words on a cake and had to look up the spelling of an Italian name. She threw the pen down and walked away. I will not forget to NEVER GO BACK. I shopped here recently for the first time. It was great! They had a big selection of organic and vegetarian foods, and a nice produce area. I liked that the aisles were wider than other local markets, which makes shopping so much easier. I also didn't encounter the "attitude" from other shoppers that I see at certain area stores. I shopped at Acme in Wall Township the other day, and I purchased $20 worth of sea scallops at their "fresh seafood" counter. These were the WORST scallops I've ever had! They were bitter and very salty, and absolutely not worth the price that they charged. I also purchased "fresh cod fillets." When I unwrapped them 1 day later, they were still semi-frozen. I will never buy seafood at this supermarket again, and I would advise everyone else to stay away. read more

My mother in law's funeral was on July 1. I was in charge of ordering the flowers from the children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. In all of the planning and details, I forgot!! I did not realize it until my husband asked at 11:00 pm the night before. I was devastated! I tossed and turned all night. At 6:00 am on the day of the funeral, I went to Acme in Wall. There I found two perfect arrangements from the grandchildren and great grandchildren and enough beautiful cut flowers to make a gorgeous, wonderful arrangement from the children. To top it off, one of the employees saw me and brought a bucket so that I could carry it all more easily. Thank you, Acme, the flower department. and that sweet man who, having no idea how sad I was, helped me just out of kindness. You all have a loyal fan for life. The store itself is nice, pretty clean, well organized. The employees are rude. I just had a cashier ask me if I was going to bag the groceries in a not nice way. I was watching the monitor making sure the prices were ringing up correctly. She said you can check the receipt afterwards. The second incident was at the deli counter I was sampling low salt ham . I tried 2 or 3 types which still tasted salty. The deli clerk said " Don't tell me you don't like this one either. The third incident was in the seafood department. The clerk was singing off key and I was asking about a product listed in the ad. I was pointing to the item. The clerk said " What the hell is that ? " Rude , Rude , Rude. Three different individuals. 2 female , one male. Is it that bad working at Acme that it gets you disgruntled? Cheer up I won't be shopping there anymore. read more
