Acme 62 is such a gem tucked along that eclectic stretch of shops on 29 Palms Hwy in Yucca Valley -- the kind of place you walk into "just to browse" and suddenly wish you had more trunk space on the drive back to LA. From the moment you step inside, the whole space feels effortlessly chic and inviting, almost like wandering through a beautifully styled desert living room. The decor pieces, furniture, and housewares are thoughtfully curated -- elevated, artistic, and full of personality. My fiancé and I had a great time exploring every corner and imagining what would come home with us... and of course we couldn't leave empty-handed. We picked up some amazing incense paired with a pottery ash catcher, I love that it looked handmade but yet refined -- exactly the kind of unique find you hope for in a specialty shop. What's cool about this store is that everything feels intentional: well-designed, desert apropos-- it gives a feel of local handicrafts not mass produced. Stylish without trying too hard, cool without being intimidating. This has to be my favorite store in the area! My last visit of this store was probably back 3-4 years ago, I remember I really liked their lamp shades and wanted one, but my home wasn't quite a fit of the aesthetic, and told myself I must return in the future. During this visit, I couldn't remember the name of the store and wasn't even sure if it was still around - as I am aware there was a sister-store? in Los Angeles (but later found out it closed down). Anyway, as I was driving down and heading back to my hotel (last day in town), the traffic red light had me stop and looked around. There! I saw the store and wonder if it was still open (it was 4:15pm). Saw that it was open still and had to make a u-turn back! I walked into the store and didn't expect much interaction with sales associate as it I know usually this is around their getting ready to close time. I liked the slow pace and less crowded space to look around and admire all the home goods the store had to offer. I was gravitated towards the beautiful potteries made by local artist, but I wasn't sure what I would use it for, so I kept looking. I came to this blanket area, and thought of the need to get more cozy blankets for my home, then started opening up the blankets (sorry if I made a mess!) I looked at a few, and finally decided on this one with the agave plant on it. I thought the pattern was unique and the colors match with my home, so I brought it to the register. Little did I know that particular design is the store's signature blanket as it has the store logo! I knew there's a reason why I liked it, because it is so on brand! :) If I can bring a couple wooden stools and chairs back with me, I would totally do it today, but the blanket is enough for now, and I am SO happy with the purchase! I hope to return in the near future to get a lamp shade finally when my home is ready. read more

This is a beautiful store set up here! It has very creative wood decorations and a very modern hipster cleansing style. Overall, this would be what I would decorate my house with! There are so many cool finds, and there are definitely awesome, trendy women's clothes in the back. Found this place while in the area and I'm glad I stopped by! They have beautiful selection of unique jewelry, pottery, and blankets amongst other things. The items here are more on pricy side but it was expected. I purchased this beautiful crystal with an air plant attached to it and this hand fan. Masks are still required in this store but they offer some at the entrance if you forgot yours. read more

Stopped here during my bachelorette weekend on our way to Joshua Tree! This store is amazing! The plants, pottery, plates, fabrics, local goods, furniture - I wanted to buy everything! I ended up with a beautiful wood bowl, vase with dried flowers, candle. Everyone was so nice and welcoming at the store. They were nice enough to let my friends and I relax in the store for 10-15 minutes while a hail storm passed through. This is a must go if you are in the area! read more

I'm in love with this space! A couple friends and I stopped by this shop on our way to Joshua Tree National Park. We were greeted as soon as we entered into this home decor oasis. They have everything from hammocks, pots, earrings, bedding, furniture and other small goods. I purchased a KAZI vase, which is hand woven by women in Rwanda, Uganda and Ghana. I appreciate them selling these goods because they are absolutely beautiful and support a great cause. read more

LOVE ACME 5! I discovered this cute shop during my drive through town during my visit in JT. Of course, the window display grabbed my attention and I had to do a U-Turn to check this place out. I browsed and found special goodies inside while not even realizing they had a portion of the shop that was outdoors which I believe was mainly furnishings. Everything was merchandised so nicely. If you take your time and look through everything there really are so many little details you'd end up catching that are really great. I ended up leaving with a few special items and have made this one of the spots I will always have to stop by whenever I'm in the area for more goodies! Staff was also super awesome. read more

We've been in Yucca Valley off and on for 5 years and seen it slowly starting to change for the better. This shop by itself represents a huge step forward, in a good direction. The store is nicely curated and had lots of things I love! Rugs, poofs, candles ,pots, baskets, wood items such as dinner forks and spoons (so tempted) and lovely art and books. I was especially tempted by some carved wood screens. There were a few stores I really would like to go into in this town but I KNEW I HAD to go into this one. I would like to visit again. It was a cute area and next time I'm leaving with a treat for my home! In reading the reviews I saw two people state they weren't acknowledged by the employees. That was true for me as well, but that didn't bother me. I did not need help and enjoyed browsing. I never felt uncomfortable or unwelcomed. read more

After several visits to Yucca valley, finally made time to browse some of the shops in town. The energy here was not super welcoming. No "hello" or anything. There were at least 3 employees working and maybe 5 customers in the store, including me so what's up with that? after about 15 minutes I was finally acknowledged. Was a little disappointed as they have a nice variety of home decor items. I made a small purchase then left. The implicit message was "hurry along" as I browsed and the only associate that had acknowledged me kept cleaning and straightening up items in the area I was browsing...Other stores in the area were much more inviting and had better energy. read more
