This was my favorite shop in the entire Joshua Tree area (and waaaay better than the other "rock shop") because they had so many cool items and such a great variety of rocks! I was able to see varieties that I'd never seen anywhere else, including ones native to the Joshua Tree area. One of the neatest was Fulgurite which is actually a type of fused quartz made from when lightening strikes the sand right there in the Morongo Valley. Each of their rocks has a detailed description and when you purchase something they send you home with a description card for each of the different types of rocks you purchase - so neat! Amazing shop, large selection of rocks, and a great activity for the kids to use sieves and running water to find gems! The buckets were prefilled so you will get a great find of rocks. Marcelo the owner is very knowledgeable about all things rocks. We had so much fun we went two days in a row buying the medium buckets each day. Hint - to make the fun last longer use one of the shovels to secretly scoop out sand from the sluice and place it back on top of the sieve with some new gems. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE! Its always on the itinerary whenever I'm in the area. If I still lived where I did, heck, I would even take weekend trips out just for fun. I spent a lot of time browsing and figuring out what special items to take back with me. Great little shop with a lot of really amazing finds. There were so many unique looking stones and they had everything organized in such a way that everywhere you looked, you'd know exactly what the name of the rock was and what properties it contained. They also have a few crystal singing bowls that guests could play. The sound emitting from the largest bowl they had was simply majestic. Himalayan salt lamps, drum bowls, jewelry, mugs from local designers within the area, rocks from super small to huge statement pieces. Staff was nice and super helpful. If you're someone who loves rocks, highly recommend checking this place out! :] I wish their website worked / we'd be able to see at least part of their inventory online. read more

I recently visited Joshua Tree for a weekend and made sure I had time to stop by the rock shop! I could have easily spent several hours in here. Upon walking in, I was overwhelmed and did not know where to start. There is so much to look at and so many unique crystals! They had pretty much every crystal you could think of and at least two choices of them! There were items from singing bowls to woven plates. There were descriptions surrounding each item, displaying the crystals meaning and the meaning of its shape! The workers are more than happy to assist you with answering any questions you may have and demonstrating how the singing bowls are used. Plus, with each Crystal purchased, they provide a description of what it is for you to take home! Looking at some of the reviews people weren't happy about the prices, but I believe their prices are understandable. It's a small business and the items seem to be handcrafted, so more than likely the prices will include labor or seem "pricey" when compared to items found in bigger businesses. read more

Freaking loved this store. We were in the hood because the Esposo was doing a Spartan type event out there and so me and my daughter joined him for a quick overnight (at our friend's beautiful AirBnB which just went live!). Our friend actually suggested we check out this shop before leaving town the next day, because she knew my daughter was really into gems and stones. The store was staffed by all friendly and knowledgeable people. My daughter and I took the time to read thru all the descriptions and found a few that "spoke to us". I love that they package the descriptions with your choices so that you can bring that home as a reference. When we were checking out, one of the gals at the front commented that she liked my hat. It wasn't until then that I realized the double entendre! I'm in an all-parents-with-day-jobs cover band called "My Pet Rock" (reference to the 70's when we were all born)-- but how appropriate for a rock shop LOL!!! This is a pretty cool shop if you are looking to buy crystals. The prices are fair and the workers are nice. I appreciated that they adhere to social distancing guidelines as well. However, I was searching, specifically, for some natural citrine. They kept pointing me to heat treated amethyst and stating that as far as they know, everything was natural. It's unfortunate because as a collector of crystals and reader of crystals books, I know that natural citrine does not grow in clusters like the ones that they showed me. The store also clearly labels all of the metaphysical properties of the stones, and gives you a take home copy for each stone you purchase. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The selection here is AMAZING. I think my group and I spent a good hour to 1.5 hours in there just surveying the many rocks they had on display. The sheer volume of rocks they had was absolutely amazing. You can tell that all the rocks are authentic and the energy in the shop was evidence of that. Sometimes, at least back home, the rock shops can have fake crystals made of glass but they're easy to spot out. This rock shop is genuine. Each rock is incredibly different with different textures, striations, colors, etc! If you're into rocks definitely come check it out. My partner and I were looking for a rock that we both could wear to symbolize growth, transformation, and positivity. We picked up this purple lepidolite that had a hook on it so it can be worn as a necklace. We had bought it back in August but unfortunately the chain I was using was too light for the heavy rock so the hook recently came loose. I now keep the rock in my collection tray. I can definitely say the lepidolite I picked up was worth it as I experienced a lot of growth, new beginnings, and transformation since I bought it in August. read more

I really loved this shop! Went twice last weekend and I spent a pretty penny on several different crystals and shapes for myself and my boyfriend. My only concern and where I took the star off is that there were several people (including employees) not wearing masks. You shouldn't put on the store that masks are required if you'll just allow employees and customers to wander around the store maskless. Again, very lovely high quality crystals and rocks. Pros: beautiful rocks/crystals and have a large variety, I loved walking through and seeing all the different ones and also being able to read about their properties, when you purchase one it even comes with a little card telling you information about it Cons: the lady who checked us out was kind of rude, I pointed out what one of the rocks was and she responded with "I know I'm trying to train someone so I'm having him tell me the names not you", I get it was my fault for speaking out of turn but she could of handled it better. Also (not saying they are at fault) but my card got hacked later this day and was used at a restaurant in a nearby town, this was the only place I had used my card in days so I'm not sure where else it could've been hacked. I didn't see any reviews about this happening to others and maybe it's just a fluke but wanted to add it to my review anyways. read more
