This review isn't coming from emotion just based on facts and experience here. I recently called to ask about the VI Peel Purify with Precision Plus and was quoted $220. I even mentioned that I'd had a bad experience at another med spa where I was given an off-brand peel, so I was being extra cautious. I clearly asked for that exact formula, repeated myself multiple times, and wrote down the quote immediately in my appointment notes. A week later, I followed up, only to ask what I needed to avoid before the peel. That's when I was randomly told the price was actually $310, and that I had misunderstood. I had not. My communication was direct and specific from the beginning. When I calmly expressed the experience was frustrating given the back & forth with them, and offered a very fair compromise, $60 off, I was told I was "too nervous" and that no discount would satisfy me. That was both false and patronizing. I never raised my voice, never demanded anything unreasonable, and still expressed interest in keeping the appointment. Instead, they chose to cancel and try to frame me as the problem. Unfortunately, this wasn't my first uncomfortable experience. During my previous visit, I casually asked the injector about smile lines. I said nothing else, but she pointed out jowls. something I hadn't mentioned at all. Her tone came off more critical than constructive, and it left me feeling picked apart instead of supported. I also downloaded their app, which clearly stated I had $50 off my next treatment. When I brought it up, I was told I couldn't use it. The pattern I experienced: A quoted price that suddenly changed, Gaslighting language to avoid responsibility, Undermining comments that felt personal not professional, Advertised rewards that weren't honored. It's clear this business isn't used to women advocating for themselves without backing down. We Clients deserve transparency, consistency, and respect, not vague pricing, shifting explanations, or dismissive attitudes when we speak up. Be careful if you plan to visit! BUYER BEWARE - Please think twice before booking Botox here…read more I have been receiving Botox for about four years, and this was my first experience at Burhani Laser Med Spa. I went in specifically for 40 units for my forehead/11 lines and was immediately pressured to purchase an additional 40 units for other areas of my face. I declined multiple times, but Umi continued pointing out areas she believed needed treatment and repeatedly asking if I was sure. After being asked numerous times, I finally agreed to 20 additional units in the lower part of my face to address my nasolabial fold area. I had never treated this area before, so I trusted her professional recommendation. I deeply regret it. Within a week, I realized my upper lip was barely functioning normally. My smile is significantly altered, and my lip gets in the way when I eat--to the point that I have accidentally bitten it while eating something as simple as a sandwich. I contacted Burhani and, after multiple text exchanges, was essentially told there was nothing they could do because I signed a consent form and that I needed to wait for it to wear off. I understand Botox has risks and that I ultimately agreed to the treatment. My problem is that I was never adequately warned that treating this area could significantly affect the movement of my upper lip, my smile, or my ability to eat normally. Had that risk been clearly explained to me, I would NEVER have agreed to the treatment. I have attached photos showing my natural smile one week before treatment compared with my smile three weeks afterward. I also included before-and-after photos of the area I was told needed treatment. I personally see no meaningful improvement, yet I am now dealing with the loss of normal movement in my upper lip. What bothered me almost as much as the outcome was the relentless upselling. Even after I finally agreed to the additional 20 units, Umi continued pushing another 20 units for my crow's feet, repeatedly asking if I was "sure" after I said no. I eventually had to tell her to stop asking. It was incredibly uncomfortable, and unlike anything I have experienced with another injector. When a patient says no, that should be the end of the conversation. I expect Burhani may respond with their explanation, and readers can consider that alongside my experience. I can only share exactly what happened to me. There are many excellent Botox providers in the greater Houston area. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. The lower price was absolutely not worth the pressure, poor experience, or temporary loss of my normal smile. UPDATE: Apparently, accountability is still not an option. Umi has now resorted to making false claims in her response to justify what happened. She claims I asked for a "lip flip." I absolutely did not. That is completely false and honestly laughable. Rather than simply acknowledging that a client had a bad experience, taking responsibility, and learning from it, Umi continues to deflect and rewrite the narrative to protect herself. I know what I requested, and I know what conversations took place during my appointment. Trying to convince me, or potential clients reading this review, otherwise does not change what happened. Umi, do better. When you are injecting someone's face, honesty, informed consent, and accountability should be the bare minimum. Instead of becoming defensive when a client raises legitimate concerns, listen to them and learn from the experience. At this point, her responses to my concerns have become just as troubling as the original experience. I hope future clients read the reviews carefully and make an informed decision before booking.
