My 86-year-old mother has been a Acom customer for years but the last few years she has been having several problems with her security system and each time she calls they want to charge her $100 to fix their equipment. I believe they should maintain their equipment if she is paying a $50 monthly bill. It is my opinion they are taking advantage of her and my advice if you have an elderly parent do not let them use this company. When the equipment was new she didn't have the issues now that it's becoming older she's having more and more issues and they refuse to come out and service it free of charge, after many calls and nobody willing to come out and service the system free of charge she is canceling her service and now has learned they are trying to charge her $300 to do so run as fast as you can from this company. read more

Acom is an excellent company who has a top notch Customer Service Center. I have always been treated with the utmost respect and patience. Having several family and friends that rely on the high standard of safety, we cannot say enough positive about this company. They have even started to send mailings out for upgrades!!! My system works perfectly, but I love being given the option of upgrade at an affordable rate! The Technicians have such a high standard of professionalism and skill. When they entered our home, I felt safe, without reservation. I appreciate Acom and the secure environment they provide. I can honestly say, without hesitation, Acom is a company I would recommend. This company will make you sign a multi-year contract which is a very very bad idea, once you sign their service will go downhill and then it will cost you 40% of what's due in the contract to get out of it. Ask yourself if a company is so good why do you have to sign a contract they will tell you it's because of the equipment that they just installed but it's just a ploy don't fall for it. Once you sign they will charge you $99 to come replace batteries and other crazy fees. Spend the money and get a simply safe security system you can purchase these pretty much anywhere and are rated much better than Acom. This is a dying business and they're doing anything to take advantage of their customers to make nickel and dime fees add up. read more

Just look at the cars on the parking lot here. The majority are cheap and/or beaters, while a few of them are nicer, luxury cars. This shows you how big the pay divide is between regular employees and people related to the owner, Wayne Beck. Tons of Becks work at this company and they're all terrible at their jobs. I had Acom install a security system in my home, I have nothing but good things to say about this company. They came out and the tech was so polite and explained things to me. Of course being new to an alarm system, I have set the alarm off a few times, but they have called to check on me and I have to tell them just me, but at least they did call and check up. I was experiencing constant alarm notices on every contact in my home. They sent technical Rusty out to handle the problem. He contacted me upon his arrival and was punctual to the appointment time. He came in diagnosed the problem immediately and fixed the issue. He also took the time to explain the problem and gave advice on ways to repair the issue in the future without making a service call. When I look for a company, I want one that has been in business a while and shows they know what they are doing. Acom has been in Columbus since the early 70's. My parents, my sister and I all have alarm systems installed and monitored by Acom. I recommend Acom to anyone looking for a system.
