Old Town oozes charm and culture. You can visit a historic chapel, roam the many cute shops or grab something to eat at one of the restaurants. There's a lot of really interesting Native American keepsakes and art to check out as well. You also never know what could be going on here - I happened to stumble into a quincenera and visited around Day of the Dead, so there was some really neat decor all around. The shops here are closer to the reservation with lots of Native American artists so it is much more affordable than the same thing in Santa Fe. It is a bit touristy but we are tourists so we enjoyed it. Many shops had unique items that were hard to find and even though it was mainly for show I loved seeing the dried chili everywhere. The area has legit history and age and it was great being able to see and do so much without moving our car. Parking was easy and from the town square you can get to many different shops, restaurants, and attractions. The church was a nice fast stop, but I liked the exterior more than the interior. The vibe and architecture are perfect American Southwest and we enjoyed our time here. There was also a Pokemon card shop I grabbed some cards for the kids from!

The Garden is a stunning, peaceful, and unique art installation. I've been fascinated with origami since I was a child and to see massive origami sculptures spread across the garden is so amazing. Each piece tells a beautiful story in front of the backdrop of the New Mexico landscape. I am so glad that I've been able to visit twice in the last month. I've had such a good time walking through the beautiful garden and listening to the large chimes on the trees and reading the pieces. There's also beautiful depiction of unfolded origami, which is so unique and stunning. If you make the stop, I recommend visiting the gift shop. They have tons of origami paper to choose from paper, crane decor, sculptures for purchase and paintings for purchase. I purchased one of their double happiness, double crane red T-shirts and it's a new favorite of mine.

It's walkable from Old Town Albuquerque but you can also drive and park since there are plenty of parking spots. The things that stood out as unique here was the large selection of Pendleton made blankets and clothing with Native American patterns. There is almost an overwhelming amount of items here so it's good if you like browsing. The staff also knows a lot so if you have questions or are looking for a specific item you can ask away. You can also ask for a discount and haggle the prices if you think it's too much. My friend accidentally broke a Kachina doll that was already slightly broken, he felt bad and requested we come back right before our flight so he could pay for it. Staff was very kind and gave him a massive discount. He has it proudly displayed at his home now!

I highly recommend because the Natives are licensed for permits to sell in Santa Fe. The jewelry is authentic and high quality stones and metals . I recommend paying with cash (service fee card) . Vendors are mostly kind. Their self made products, mostly with turquoise are wonderful. The opaque, blue-to-green turquoise is a mineral. Persian stones from Nishapur (of Iran) is used as a guiding reference for evaluating turquoise quality. Navajo and Hopi tribes are known to produce high quality turquoise jewelry. The top two of the following 4 kinds of turquoise are widely used in Santa Fe area: Sleeping Beauty Turquoise  Kingman Turquoise  Bisbee   Royston  They (including the stores as well) prize Sleeping Beauty for its consistent sky-blue color. However, it's no longer being mined (?), while Kingsman has brilliant blue color, but it isn't as precious as SL due to the fact that they're still abundantly being mined. One native vendor explained how the program work: They've a committee, to determine the eligibility (sometimes vendor has to go before the committee to demonstrate their skills - like making a piece). The covered corridor has 63 spaces, each marks with a white number. If the vendors are more than the spaces, they'll have to do a lottery, which means a particular vendor may not come tomorrow. In General, a particular vendor doesn't come everyday.  On the last day there, I purchased a bracelet from a generous man, who explains the logos are his name and his daughter's. When I pay, he tells me a less amount voluntarily. I was a little hesitate. Although I like bargains and discounts, but I don't ask for it with small vendor, especially with the artist him or herself.  "Are you sure?" I asked. Actually I was not 100% sure what he had quoted me earlier.  "Yes, it looks so nice on your wrist." I paid what he asked. Thank you.

It's been several…read moreyears since I've been in this store, but it was the first store that popped in my head to visit. I think this was my first visit to the store off of Louisanna/Montgomery. The last time I visited, his store was on Wyoming/Montgomery. The store had a lot to offer my company. They happily browsed through the isles. I was impressed with his stock, it was clean, and it was well organized. The owner started to check us out, but his grandson came to relieve him, so he finished the transaction. They were both friendly and knowledgeable about chiles. He also roasts chiles when in season. We found the perfect ristra. We'll be back.

The arrangement (and chocolates!) delivered was gorgeous and fresh and my partner just loved it! I received great customer service from order through delivery and three days later the flowers are still bright and beautiful. We are new to the East Mountains and I'm happy to say that we've found the perfect flower shop for all occasions.
