Jennifer did my initial scans and was super nice, quick, and explained everything to me very clearly. The process was easy and painless thanks to her. I went with the Nikon eye scan instead of a dilation because I had to drive after and I'm so glad I did. I waited for a bit while Dr. Phillips finished with his previous patient and looked over my scans and paperwork, then he came out and got me for my exam. He was very thorough and showed me my eye scan. I got a new prescription and he walked me out to the lobby again. Alana helped me pick frames and lenses. She picked out several options for me and I picked the one I liked the most with her support. She was very nice the whole time and took the stress out of the whole process. I put off getting new glasses for 14 years because of the stress and anxiety associated with going to the eye doctor and adjusting to new lenses and frames each time your prescription changes. The people here made the entire process so easy that I am confident I won't have any reservations about keeping up with regular exams again.

So I decided to go to Costco when I saw Eugene Eyewear was open. Went inside and had the fortune of being serviced by MORGAN! Not only did she replace the missing screw; she tightened the other arm; cleaned the lenses and gave me a replacement case too! All for no charge! After several fruitless visits at a different optometrist, I tried Dr. Rowe's office just in…read morepassing the sign. I was so fed up with my last doctor and not being able to see properly, and them not listening to my concerns or trying to understand what I was telling them about my vision. Well let me tell you that Dr. Rowe is just as much in the customer service business as he is an optometrist. I have rarely had such great personal attention from a medical professional. He genuinely listens to your issues, presents alternatives, values input from his patients, and goes the extra mile to be SURE that you are in the prescription you need and want. I refused to give his office staff any prior information from my other doctor when I made the first appointment. I had lost so much faith in optometrists that I didn't want any prior "facts" skewing his opinion of my eyes and the prescription I would need. I am so happy to say that after THE FIRST visit, I had a set of trial contacts in my hand which I tried over the weekend, came back the following week and we confirmed that these were the contacts for me. I am still shocked at how easy and enjoyable it was! The staff is very friendly and easy to get along with, the office is small and clean and quiet. Very professional. This is what an optometrist's office should be.

His attention to detail and follow-up is the best I've ever received. Thank you so very much, Dr. Rowe. That being said, Dr. Rowe is retiring. Dr. Thompson is awesome, she understood my descriptions of how my eyesight seems to have changed from my last pair of glasses and is very personable and easy to talk to. My new rx is great. My new frames are great. And, there's a 2 year warranty if my lenses get scratched or frames get damaged. One of my dogs recently decided my old glasses were super interesting and delicious. A couple months away from the two year mark of having them, he pulled a sneaky and chewed off one of the ear pieces. They were still under warranty and I was able to get a new pair for free. They are now my back up pair, which is very helpful if you have a hound dog that likes to counter surf, despite all of your best efforts.

Today, Dec 19 I took my daughter in for her appointment only to be told that they had to cancel appointments for today and they have been calling people for weeks. Interestingly enough the appointment was made just a week before on Dec 12, we received a text message confirming the appt on Tuesday Dec 17, and did not received one phone call, text, or email regarding cancelling the appt. This was seriously unprofessional and concerning that the staff could be that dishonest. Needless to say, they lost 4 patients today. ***UPDATE*** I just learned that Dr Cuevas passed away earlier this week. It is possible I misheard her or she misspoke under the circumstances. My condolences to the family, staff, and community.

She spoke down to me like a child because she apparently couldn't be bothered to type a few keystrokes into her computer. When my contacts finally came in, I went to pick them up only to be met with a wall of excuses and lies. First, they couldn't find my glasses. Then came the ridiculous stories: claiming weekends don't count as part of the week, and then blaming my insurance company for making them and causing a delay. I've worn glasses since I was a teenager and I have never heard such garbage in my life. I actually had to walk out and go to Bi-Mart just to cool down and keep them from ruining my day. While I was gone, my wife stayed, and wouldn't you know it--they suddenly "found" my glasses. They had just filed them wrong. Mistaking a file is human, but inventing a massive web of imaginary scenarios and insurance lies instead of just being honest is unacceptable. To top it all off, when we got home, I realized they had marked both sets of my contacts as the left eye. Granted, they are trail pair, but still. I refuse to ever set foot in this office again. I would seriously rather wear a 10-year-old prescription than ever give this place another dime of my money. If you enjoy being talked down to and lied to, this is the place for you. I did this, and paid my bill. When I got home, I noticed an extra $35 charge for some type of scratch or dent insurance protection. I never agreed to this, and the woman never mentioned the charge probably hoping I would ignore it. I wouldn't be surprised if she keeps half of the charge as part of her earnings. Hello Rainbow Optics...thats outright scammy. It reeks of you paying a lower wage, but telling the employee you will make a lot more by automatically adding the charge and not mentioning it. The actual doctor was good. But these type of business practices are unethical at best. I called them and asked why this charge was on my bill. I got the typical reply: "oh dont worry, come back in and we will refund your $35. I did go back and get my $35 that I never authorized. And recently, Rainbow Optics has resorted to spam phone calls reminding me its time for an examination. I might schedule an eye exam. But its not going to be with a business who tacks on optional charges such as this "insurance" without my authorization.
