Capybaras!!! Went for their fall event for the free safari hay ride. Was confused by lack of signage, and driving through the park felt wrong. In the safari, the emus (dinosaurs) prowled awaiting our delivery of snacks... very cool. The zebras were very sassy but the highland cows were very welcoming! Goats were very greedy, but made me happy :)

Come here to spend a few hours with the family and walk through the property, you won't be disappointed. There's an impressive museum filled with wild animals, a learning room for kids to color with various interactive games, plus a cute gift shop with connectic sand which was my son's favorite. Just right outside the museum, there are plenty of picnic tables and a large playground. You can walk or drive to see all the animals they have onsite. Most people did a blend of both... Drive to a spot, park and walk. There are also pit stops along the trail for the kids to play, like sandpits and lookout spots. We had a great time with our kiddos. A gem to bring your kids to! We'll be back.

Great park or area. Has a great path to follow so you won't miss any of the animals. Went with my 2 1/2 yr old and she of course found it incredible plus gave her the free to run around. Aside from the zebras, sheep's, rams, alpaca and various other animals, they also had a playground, sandpit and tons of decorative hay bales to climb. My daughter was free and I had to pay $25 which is costly! Honestly it's really for the kids. We sweat our brains off carrying and walking and making sure they get to see everything. I understand charging kids because they're having the most fun. Thankfully I took her alone otherwise that would have been a whooping $50 for myself and wife. They also offer food behind the barn, burgers, fries and hotdogs. I didn't eat so I can't rate the food. It is nice that I was able to bring my own snacks and lunch tho. There's a taxidermy display inside which is amazing. Don't come after me PETA, I didn't set it up! Don't forget your souvenir pumpkin you get to pick out at the pumpkin patch.

Great attraction, poor execution. We will definitely go back, but be prepared for little to no direction on where to go, where to park, where to start, etc. There are a couple signs but not many. Animals are abundant and very close to you. Some include bison, goats, zebras, elk, cows, and more. Tips for your visit: 1. Bring Cash. We went on the weekend when you are supposed to be able to use credit/debit; the employee couldn't get it to work. Luckily we had enough on hand. 2. Buy Some Grain. The grain comes in a plastic container, $5 a piece. You don't need it because half of the animals eat hay, but for the full experience some go crazy for it. My 3 year old daughter loved feeding them. 3. Bring some bug spray. There are lots of flies, which is pretty typical for farms with large animals. One flew in my eye so beware. 4. Save the playground for last. After all the in and out of the car and excitement of the animals the playground is the perfect place to sit and refuel (lots of picnic tables under a large gazebo). The playground is nice, perhaps best for slightly older children as the climbing equipment is quite high. We loved it.

The website says it's open on Sunday, so I drove here with my daughter (she was super excited) and the gates were shut & no answer on the phone. Super lame & uncool. The weather was overcast but certainly not raining. No reason it shouldn't have been open. Get it together guys. Btw - here is a pic of the blue sky to show it isn't raining. Booooo on you guys.

What a great animal park! You can drive through slowly and stop anywhere to feed the animals. You…read morebuy food at the park's entrance. We did not stop everywhere and we did not stop at the Petting zoo or museum/ gift shop and we were there 1.5 hours. You just have to drive really slow since some families let their young child walk around away from them! We will return !!

I'm not sure why there are three Yelp pages for Action Wildlife Foundation, but I decided to write…read moremy review on this one because it had the most recent reviews. I also saw that one of the other pages only had three stars, and I know that cannot be possible, because Action Wildlife Foundation in Goshen is simply amazing! If you're an animal lover you definitely need to check this place out! Here's how it works... After entering the driveway, you drive up to the gate and will pay the entrance fee. It's $18 for adults and $16 for kids. Additionally, you can buy a good-sized container of animal food for $8 per container. You'll also get a map of the place to help find your way around. Once you're in the park, there will be a large building right in front of you which is where the "Museum of Natural History" is. The entire inside is set up like a giant diorama, with real taxidermy animals of all kinds placed in real-life poses. It's so cool to see! This building also contains the gift shop in back and restrooms. After the museum, you can either walk or drive around the grounds (using the gravel road) to see and visit with all of the different animals that they have in the various pens. You'll get to see kangaroos, goats, horses, cows, capybaras, camels, zebras, emus, and much much more! Most of the animals you can feed, though there are a few (like the kangaroos and some of the horses) that you cannot. I would recommend driving around the grounds and then stopping and getting out once you get to the animals that you want to see. There is grass on either side of the gravel road where you can easily pull over and not be blocking anyone. On weekends, they also have a tractor ride "safari" in a different area of the park, where you get to ride through a very large fenced in area where there are several specifies of animals roaming altogether, so you can see the animals in a more natural setting. Lastly, they have a petting zoo in one of the barns with food that you can buy using quarters. The petting zoo has mostly goats, and then a few other animals like alpacas and cows. Oh, and you can also book personal "encounters" with some of the animals like the goats and capybaras, where you reserve a time slot for some one-on-one time with these animals. Though you need to do this in advance online, and it's an additional cost. The best part about Action Wildlife Foundation? They are dedicated to animal conservation, and most of the animals there have either been rescued or donated. This is one of the coolest placed in CT I've ever been to, and I would highly recommend it!

The kids had fun feeding the farm animals. I will have to admit I had fun too. There are all sorts of farm animals, such as chickens, cats, dogs, goats, horses, bunnies, pigs and more. I am a cat person and I enjoy looking for the barn cats. The place is pretty clean for a farm and the kids enjoy the tractor ride. All the employees were nice and friendly. If you're planning a fun kids party, this is a great place for them.

First visit, I got there around 4:40 and they were closing at 5; it was a short trip because I just wanted to get some eggs. The employee said they were closing soon and so was the petting zoo when I first walked in; I mentioned I was going to be quick and just wanted to get some eggs. I didn't know they had a petting zoo so I made a plan to go back again another time. The store was your typical farm stand, they had eggs, honey, cookies, apparel, and various of other knick knacks. They were having a sale, buy one dozens eggs ($7) and get one dozen free. The chickens were laying too many eggs and they wanted to get rid of as many as possible. The second time, I got in earlier in the day and purchased petting zoo tickets; $8 per person over 2 years old/under 80 years old and for an additional $2, you can purchase feed. I highly recommend getting the feed, the animals loved it. The petting zoo was bigger than I thought. There's even a playground with benches and picnic tables. The place seemed clean and the animals seem well taken care of. We saw pigs, llamas (my favorite), sheep, goats, alpacas, peacocks, cows, ponies (another favorite), donkeys, bunnies, chickens, and a black cat.Inside the shop, there were baby chicks, birds, and guinea pigs. There were signs explaining what type of animals, facts, and their story/names throughout. They also offer pony and tractor rides for an additional fee. There's a huge pavilion with picnic tables; you can bring your own food in. Also, there is an Airbnb onsite and people book their weddings there. There are many events hosted there as well; children programs and summer camps are popular ones. My kids and I had a blast petting and feeding the animals. I highly recommend!
