Cleanest bathrooms I have ever seen at any outdoor establishment. 10/10 those girls were killing it in there! I used the bathrooms about 4 times yesterday and not once was I grossed out. Nice breeze, no mess, no smells. Fairground itself for the Goshen Stampede was great. Lots of places for trash, plenty of shade. The stands for the rodeo should be expanded and they have got to do something about the view from the stands on the first three levels. You need to duck your head or stretch your neck to see what's going on. Easy to get around and plenty of parking. read more

The 109th annual Goshen fair is going on through September 5. Live events also, check the pamphlet when you buy your tickets for times and events. $10 for adults to get in. Bring cash because some vendors are cash only. Lots of rides, games, and all the fair food you could want. My favorite was Chompers. Few different types of fried food balls would be the best way to describe it. Second favorite was the cannoli sundae. If you like going to fairs, you will have a good time. read more

Returned to the Goshen Fair after a two year break. This marks the start of fall, and we were happy to return this long weekend. The parking was easy and the food options plentiful. The Goshen Fair Grounds spark nostalgia, which continues today. For food, we enjoyed a corn dog, poutine and a Reuben. Chompers is also a favorite of mine, but I didn't partake this year. As a URI grad, i love seeing Del's frozen lemonade (which i got daily on the quad back in the day). We look forward to visiting for future events. read more

"And it's up against the wall redneck mother" - Jerry Jeff Walker (This is a review of the Goshen Stampede) If you're looking to do something for Dear Old Dad tomorrow or next Father's Day, why not treat the old man to a few hours at the Goshen Stampede? The Stampede is held every Father's Day weekend here at the Goshen Fairgrounds. This year's edition included crowd pleasers like a Demolition Derby, rodeo competition, fireworks, barrel races, a kids rodeo, lots of music, lots of rides, lots of vendor booths, truck pulls, food and drink galore, and the awesomely named "Redneck Games". If Dad is intrigued by what exactly the Redneck Games are, you can act like a big know-it-all and tell him it includes competitions in Best Goshen Stampede attire, Best Country Dancers, Fastest Texters, and best Hula Hoopers. Parking is just $2 - just follow the dozens of smiling young attendants who'll direct you to your spot. The fairgrounds are just about the right size, so you can walk around and see everything comfortably and not be overwhelmed like you are at the Big E. We saw tons of families all over the place, having a wonderful time, just like we did. read more

Was fun the line to get in took us about 25minuets, we came for the food basically I am too old for the rides, we had fun looking at the animals. It was a great day just to get out walk around and enjoy life again. Took $100 out came home with $25 left the food and drinks are high but that's how they make their money. read more

And it's Goshen Fair for the 100th review win (ok, enough about me :) ) So, small/not so small county fair with crafts, art, exhibits, food (and food, and food). There's always little fairs and carnivals around, this one is pretty decent, a small petting zoo with goats, kangaroo, camels, cows, horses, other barns with chickens, rabbits, well, basically all the kind of things the little kids love to run around and see. For the $10 (20 for the both of us) admission, thankfully the kids under 12 are free thing otherwise it might not have gotten the 3 stars. It's a fair, so expect over-priced greasy food. But a good variety, so there's that. The booths and vendors were pleasant.. There was a kids book author that was signing books, just all-around "great for the kids" while emptying your wallet type of place. Of course, to every fair, there is a down-side. Bathrooms, or port-a-potties.. For a fair that size, not quite sure there were enough, be prepared. A diaper changing area would be kinda welcomed also. On the up-side, a veterans booth, and a National Guard booth, always nice to see those. It's a good once a year thing. Fair season in Connecticut can get pretty busy! read more

So this is a review of the physical fair grounds, because the different events are... Some can invoke strong opinion. Anyway, the actual grounds are rather long. They have several structures including two exhibit barns, a pig/goat barn, an open air sheep barn, and then two barns for rabbits and chickens respectfully. Oh, there is also an old fashioned barn next to a giant pumpkin patch (the patch itself is rather small, but apparently meant for only giant pumpkins), and a newer barn for FFA. The grounds are largely flat with clearly designated paths, but have an incline in back leading towards the monster truck ring a concert stage. There are benches around the ground, but if you're at an outdoors event you may be able to picnic. Do not plan to picnic at the Goshen Fair, someone will step on you. All in all, it's a large ground that can accommodate many variety of event. Unfortunately it is not open to the public, which is too bad because it would be a great place to walk dogs in a town with very few safe and clean places to take poor doggies. read more

Terrible treatment and customer service skills. Charging people $100 to get towed out of YOUR poorly maintained field where we were forced to park is unacceptable. And for events this size you need more bathrooms. read more

Goshen Fair is coming up . . . Aug 30 thru Sept 1. We have been going for a few years now, even though we live miles away. This a great little New England fair with a real small town feel. I like going to see all of the animals, the tractor pull and the crafts. It's not stuff I am usually into so it is a nice distraction. They have great food booths, with everthing from clam chowder to apple fritters. Definitely make your way up here this year and check things out. read more

Based on solely the array of exhibits, entertainment and food options, I'd ordinarily rate the Goshen Fair at 4 stars but the parallel linear layout (which works for smaller fairs like Bethlehem) creates a frustrating foot traffic challenge during busy times. Add in the predominance of dirt thoroughfares and the traffic in during peak times (surpassed only by Durham and the Big E, in my experience), and you have a fair that I'd only rarely include on my annual rota. read more
