My friends and I had a blast at Activate, we had a great 1st time experience. The receptionists are nice and friendly, the the games are challenging and exciting, the game facilitator was helpful (one of them are, the other one not so much). I would say it is priced fairly, I paid $28 and get 75 minutes play time (the time only starts counting when you are in a game). Unfortunately, we didn't not get our water bottle rewards in our first visit but we will definitely go back in the future!

Parking was…read moreok and if everyone drives to the venue, they may not be able to find a parking spot and may have to park further away. The food was not bad and customer service was good. Staff were friendly and helpful. The reason that I'm not giving 5 star to them is because the venue didn't have a proper setup for work events. Projector was not bright enough. Lighting was very poor and we could not even read any of our notes. I believe this could be fixed easily if they would like to attract businesses to use this facility for their event and I hope next time I go there I see some improvements. If you go there for personal and family fun day, you'll probably enjoy your experience and will have fun! For those activities I actually recommend them! :)

My coworkers…read moreand I have come here for staff event nights twice; once for food and Lazer tag, and another time for food and bowling. It is a great place to go for a date night as well. They have pool tables, some arcade games, bowling, Lazer tag, billiards/pool, and a lounge. The lounge has events such as comedy or sports game nights, and it always ends up being a great time. Each time I have been there, the servers in the lounge have been great with checking up with you to see if they can assist with anything. Keep in mind if you want to go here with a group, it is best to book in advance, because this is a fairly busy location. That being said, each time i have gone here with one or two people, I haven't had to wait long at all. One side note; as this is a fairly busy place, the pool tables have had a lot of use and are not in the best of shape, and some are straight up in need of repair. However, if you are looking for fun, Gateway Entertainment has that for sure. As mentioned above, I have been here many times, and will most likely continue, as it is always a fun time.

Good gaming fun! We recently came here January 1st to enjoy a family day playing arcade games, I'm…read moreglad we came early because by the afternoon it was crowded and getting really busy even on a holiday day. I was quite disappointed in the initial staff that were there to sell us the wristbands and credits. There was only one staff member and it took over 45minutes to just get our wristband even though they had already been open for over a half hour and there were hardly any people in the place. A huge line was inside the Trophy Room all trying to get wristbands. And because the sound of the arcade games is so loud their staff member I think was having a hard time hearing people and being heard themselves. Maybe a curtain or a door there would be helpful to eliminate the sound and make that area more practical? Or make it so you can purchase a wristband at the front desk area because there were 2 staff just hanging out there. Aside from that the games were fun and our kids were able to find quite a few even at their young ages to enjoy. Of course a majority of these games I feel like are geared to older children and adults. I like the variety of games- from old school basketball hoops and the DDR (that isn't DDR but a different variation), to the roller coaster simulator styles and VR too. There were probably a good 5-10 games that were down and not working. The bowling upstairs was looking really fun as well. Plenty of food options around- we sat in at the restaurant and this was the best part for me. The food was so so good! We ordered the Tempura Jalapeños ($13.50) - freaking amazing! Huge jalapeños and perfectly crispy. Truffle fries - lots of Parmesan and very crispy. But the kids menu was the best! $10 for a drink, main course and dessert! And the kids main menu portions are huge- very filling for a great price.

What a cool place, it's like an updated version of Chucky cheese, that caters to both kids and…read moreadults. Lots of different kinds of games, so easy for kids and some a bit harder. There's also virtual reality, axe throwing and more. There's an amazing space on the top floor for big and small parties, which you can rent out. It ended up being a bit more expensive than we originally hoped, as you have to also purchase food, and game credits. But it was still a great party.

I was already logged in and ready to go, she kept saying she wasn't getting my calls, she said she had a business account so I googled the issue and it says right on teams that business accounts can not video call personal accounts. I offered a few different options to video call and she turned them all down. She repeadly blamed my settings and technology when I sent her proof I was online, calling her and also the screenshots from the teams site. Finally after my appointment had ended i asked for a refund because she repeadly was making excuses and I didnt get a service i paid for. Said I can reschedule if I can figure my teams out but no refund. I feel like this is super unprofessional, upon checking she has a 1 star yelp review for similar problems. I am super disappointed and feel like someone in this field should be more kind and welcoming. I can't speak for her actual abilities, however baised off this i would not reccomend her. According to the reviews from years ago she hasn't changed her ways at all.

I booked Vertically Inclined Rock Climbing for an end of year party and I was pretty impressed by…read morethe price and the amount of time we got. The reason I'm giving them only four stars instead of five is because they don't have a separate room for the actual party space which means the kids are Right in the middle of the climbing area while having pizza for snacks and I found that a little uncomfortable. On the positive side the kids had a great time. They love learning a new skill and I think some of them are going to go back and try to get in some climbing this summer - nothing wrong with that. The learning curve is a little bit steep so you need to be prepared for that. The first bit of your booked time is learning not climbing. But again I'm OK with the kids learning a little bit! Try out this rock climbing gym for something a little different for your next party or corporate event.

Belay On! Climb! Climb On!…read more I cannot believe how much fun I had last night at Veritcally Inclined Rock Gym. I came with my hubby and two friends as part of Yelp's Fit Club in May! Now, first... let me admit, I think I'll enjoy it more and do even better when I lose half a backstreet boy (aka - post baby weight) but that didn't stop me from having a blast. Staffer, Robin, was helping out my group and he was GREAT! He encouraged us when we thought we couldn't go further and had a handy dandy laser pointer he'd shine up on the rocks to tell us which one he thought would be our next step up or grip for our hands. My hubby made it to the top twice in our 20 minute lesson and I was more than happy to get half way up the wall :-) I really enjoyed repelling down the wall like spider girl after climbing and the swinging/sitting mid air when taking a break was suprisingly fun! Be sure to ask for chalk if you're a newbie or nervous because it really helps you keep grip on those rocks! The facility was amazing with TONS of walls to climb. If you're more of a free climber or boulderer you're a little more limited here but they have tons of rope courses and a few walls you can climb without being harnassed. Bright, cheerful, and really supportive! I couldn't have asked for a better first time experience! I am definitely planning on returning and upping my personal best! They offer adult and kid friendly courses (10 week adult one is hightly recommended and kiddos even have summer camp options starting at 5 years and up). Vertically provides everything you need - just come in your workout gear and they will do the rest. They also offer all day passes where you can come climb, leave - go grab lunch, run an errand, and then come back and climb! My fellow Edmontonians, if you haven't checked out Vertically Inclined Rocky Gym, you are missing out!
