We went to see Imagine Van Gogh yesterday but we could not find anywhere online where it mentioned parking. It has been well over a year since we attended an event here and we had no idea if the prices had gone up or not. We were not even sure if there was a cost at all, checked website for information. It was not really a big deal as they have not raised prices but they did add some new machines and got rid of the booths at the entrance, that was cool, and it makes total sense. As far as the location, 100% it is nice and close to me in Sherwood Park, just a little skip of the yellowhead and we are there. The staff running the show and explaining the show were outstanding with knowledge and the way they hype the show, even as we were leaving they mentioned to watch for the monet exibit next year done the same way. I am not an art geek but I really enjoyed this, and yes, I felt immersed in Van Gogh! As I mentioned, my only disappointment was the lack of parking info available online. read more

Easy to navigate expo Centre. They hosted the UFC Ceremonial Weigh ins which was free to the public. Great view no matter where you are in this place; at least for this event. Easy to get in and get out. The only hassle was the Uber pickup area wasn't clear to find at first, they dropped us off in a different area then where they pick up but we figured it out. Clean place, would come back if needed. read more

Went to the Van Gogh exhibit. First let's like to mention how welcoming, kind and knowledgeable all the workers working at the expo were. So friendly and engaging. Walk in and they tell you everything you need to know. In the exhibit you walk in to read a bunch of info on floating photos.....we skipped this. We weren't into getting a history lesson. That said it was beautifully done. Then you move into the actual exhibit. WOW! Just wow! I really loved this whole experience. Well done. Also love that covid times means it wasn't jam packed with people so you could walk around and really take it all in. So we'll done. It's here until September it's a MUST SEE. read more

I've been to the Expo Centre more times than I can count, but most recently this past weekend to get my tail feather groove on for Sesame Street Live's - Let's Dance! Oh yes, you know you're jealous! The venue (hall within the venue) had changed unexpectedly so the seating had been thrown in disarray. Our seats were now in the bleachers at the back. I was pleasantly surprised to be reseated at the very front in the first row with apologies for the seating issues. While I'm sure there are others who weren't as fortunate, I can certainly say that they made our show the best my kids have ever seen! Both my kiddos got to hug and dance with every one of the characters as they came around and off the stage to bring the show to life. The staff in this facility have always been friendly and helpful whether it be at K-Days, specialty vendor shows (think RV, cars, Taboo, Beer Fest, etc.), or a children's concert. The facility itself has been updated with lots of natural light through floor to celing windows in the main walkway between the Expo Halls. There's plenty of seating along the main walkway with benches against the windows as well as a central seating area with a few food vendors (Pizza 73, Subway, etc.). I noticed some new prairie murals along some of the walls that were quite gorgeous on this visit. My one complaint about the venue here is the parking! It can take a VERY long time to leave as there are very few ways to leave at the end of an event and I really do thing the parking is quite outrageous - $15 for a 1.5 hour kids show. I think it's the same whether you come for K-Days or anything really, but I think the price is ridiculously high (and this coming from a Seattle girl!). The LRT does have a stop close by, so if that's an option for your party it may actually be cheaper and faster than getting stuck in the parking lot in traffic (I remember it once taking over an hour to leave after K-Days). I forsee many, many more visits to the Edmonton Expo Centre in the years to come :-) read more

In 2024, you'd think the Edmonton Expo centre would be more accessible and inclusive, but we were really disappointed with our visit to Paw Patrol Live. I phoned the box office to get wheelchair accessible seats (my first call to Ticketmaster, they had offered me seats in the stands.... yes WITH stairs...) so I called the Expo Center directly to get more accurate information. It was not a designated section, but a place to put the wheelchair and a folding chair next to it in the hallway where people circulate to get to their seats. We tried to get pictures with the Paws Patrol, but it was really complicated. When I called and told them I needed accessible seats, they didn't give me the VIP option, and the person at the VIP counter wasn't really interested in helping. Several members of the customer service seemed totally clueless to the fact that it's already complicated to go out with a child in a wheelchair (and that no, I can't just park him there and go do my business (GIANT FACE PALM!)) and that a little goodwill could have helped a lot. I wasn't asking for anything gratuitous, or not reasonable, just a little help... read more

This place is seriously massive so make sure you have on your walking shoes. Northland Expo centre hosts a ton of events all year long from K-days in the summer to expo after expo during the winter months. I suppose that's how this place got its name. If you have an interest it's most likely that at some point Northlands will hold an event for you to get your fix. Weather it's home improvements, beauty, fashion, cars or farming... it's all held here, sometimes simultaneously. What most of these events have in common is the shopping. It never fails no matter how boring I find the event some booth will be selling some product I have to have. So really any expo is a shoppers dream. I do have to say even if you are not in the market to buy a car or a have a huge interest in cars the car show is definitely worth checking out. It is ultra Lux and there is just something fun and special about the show. On the downside yes parking is retarded expensive but you can beat the system by parking a few blocks away in the residential areas or take the LRT. The Expo Centre is a great venue for events, conferences and conventions. With rooms varying in size from large tradeshow halls to more intimate spaces such as meeting rooms and of course the concert/hockey rink Hall D, this venue is very versatile for your meetings and events! Events such as K-days and the Edmonton Comic and Entertainment Expo make this place home, but so too do other smaller events -- even graduation celebrations are held here on occasion! I'm generally pretty fond of the actual physical building ever since it was renovated in recent years to do what it does now. read more

There's ample parking (but $12) so there usually isn't an issue unless there are many events in the Expo Centre and a hockey game. We found a spot not far from one of the doors. Inside there are a number of rooms that can be transformed for any reception, gala, or party. There were 2 events that evening and someone was available to inform us which room our event was taking place. The doors weren't yet open but there was a lovely reception where sushi and spring rolls were laid out and staff with other appies and drinks. I can't recall what was in the drink but I remember had berries in it. Very lovely and not too crowded! The room looked lovely with 2 large screens on each side of the stage and the buffet area on one side of the room. I loved how the tables were decorated and easy to find the number too. It's not easy coordinating people without a mad rush to the buffet lines. But they moved quickly and having 3 lines helped. The food was a good variety including salads, chicken with curry sauce, spinach lasagna, and roast beef and it tasted delicious. The mashed sweet potatoes were a favourite as our table but I found it a little too sweet. It was great to see the menu different from other times I've been and all new foods to try this time. The service was wonderful and plates were removed promptly and coffee and tea served after the meal. Lots of washrooms so there wasn't a line up and the seat was up so not used either! Can't wait to come back for another event! read more

While I'm happy we have such a large Expo centre here, there are three main things that really drive me nuts about this place. #1) Parking. $15 or more!!! So you pay to attend an event, which is already $15 or more, and then you tack on astronomical parking fee. I get it. Some events, you have to charge a high price because there might not be enough parking to meet demand. But for events that don't draw as many people, it's just gauging. And I know this will never change, but I still have to mention it. #2) That awful smell when you have to walk between the two halls the back way. I don't know how to explain where it is, but if you go to the car show, there's that one long back hall you have to walk through. Every year it smells like sewage. That needs to be fixed. Inexcusable. #3) Where's the free WIFI??? Hello.... it's 2015 Edmonton Expo Centre. Get with the times. read more

The newly built Expo Centre on the Northlands grounds is a chic, futuristic glass and concrete event building. I'm not positive how nice it is for galas or balls, but for something like a beer festival it is perfect. It is light, airy and spacious. It has great ventilation (which is important when you pack a ton of people drinking beer into it!). There is ample parking and it is located right off of the Coliseum LRT station. It is so large that it can hold many different events at once. The bathrooms are quite nice, but it would be much better if you didn't have to exit the halls to get to them in the central hallway. read more

There's a great variety of events that go on at Edmonton Expo: conventions, concerts, graduations, you name it! It's a lovely building with lots of modern steelwork and glass windows to bring in some natural light (although the windows aren't usually in the trade show halls). There's even a little cafeteria for some snacks. I love coming here for all the different types of things they put on, though I do it less than I would like for reasons listed below. I don't love coming here because it smells like horse. Walking through the building you will get the tangible smell of horses, in some places the smell is stronger than in others. Not exactly what I want to be smelling on my outing, especially since I'm very sensitive to scents and get quite nauseous very easily if I smell something strong. Another complaint that I have is that the parking is exorbitant. $15 is just ridiculous! I don't understand how they can charge that awful rate. The centre is not very accessible from my house through public transit and when I'm considering attending an event here, it's such a turn off to think about the arm and leg I will have to sacrifice just to get a stall. And that's on top of the other arm and leg I probably had to sacrifice to get tickets to the event in the first place! It's a good venue. I just wish it didn't smell and the parking wasn't outrageously priced. read more

Worst experience ever! With the combo of events on at rexall and the expo center it took us over an hour to drive a 10 min stretch of road promoting us to be 30 min late to out event.... We left at 6 and should of been there by 630. We got in at 730 and only made it by kinda skipping the huge line and other cat letting us in front. I hate doing that but we were beyond frustrated. Parking was a rip 16 dollars! I hate paying 16 dollar for the most inefficient parking set up ever!!!! We both god a snack. Worst 14 dollars ever spent. Dried out old pretzel. Nachos (that were dryer then a popcorn fart and no flavour...actually the flavour was cardboard) and the cheese sauce was separated and chunky.... read more

This is a great place for trade shows and festivals. It is a HUGE venue. My greatest complaint is the parking. It is very expensive after you add your ticket fee for most of the events. Park and ride with the LRT is located at Stadium station, so as long as there isn't a game at the stadium, the parking is very convenient. There are a lot of great shows throughout the year, my favourite is still k-days. Lots of washrooms located throughout the building. They even have their own food court located centrally in the facility. read more

I come here pretty much annually to attend the comic and entertainment expo. It's always quite a blast! The way the vendors are all set up is neat, and I like how they're all divided into a plethora of rooms. You walk through each row like a big maze. The atmosphere is good, food is good, and from my experience, pretty good service here as well . It gets really busy around 1PM on the Saturday of the expo (the day I go) so it's best to get there before the crowd starts rolling in. There's a Mac's fairly close if you can't get into the food truck lines. read more

I was here for the 3 day United Nurses of Alberta AGM. The expo center is pretty decent for hosting our AGM. I like that the bathroom facilities are abundant and it's not a pain when it comes to waiting. They also keep it very clean, which I appreciate. The set up in the halls are good. Their chairs are ok (I realize that I am sitting in it for pretty much all day). They did feed us for lunch and has catered to nurses who need gluten free meals. I would say the food is alright for catering to a large number of people in a buffet style. Parking lot is well maintained there and they have an attendant there to direct people. read more

The expo centre is a nice space that hosts many large events each year. Over all it's only okay; parking is $16.00, the washrooms are always dirty and don't have air dryers, and the food court is seriously lacking and greatly overpriced. I go here for the events not the space. read more

This is my second visit here in a week, it must be awards season! Edmonton doesn't have tons of choice for large scale events so if you are looking to host 1000 people or more this is one of your options. The large space can be divided up into lots of smaller spaces or used as one large hall and it's very plain insides lend themselves to all sorts of decor, which is wonderful (both events that I attended, 6 days apart, didn't even look like they were in the same place). The food was really good and the bar prices are very reasonable, in line with most hotels in the city. The only issues I have encountered so far has been with some of the service (inconsistent and unhelpful has been mostly what I have encountered) and the parking prices are ATROCIOUS. Taking public transit from where I live isn't really an option, but i hate forking over the cost of half a tank of gas to park my vehicle for a few hours too... so frustrating. read more

I have been to the Expo Centre a few times - most recently to attend the Bridal Fair ( oh my god it was crazy... never getting married) the other time was to take the nieces / nephews to Thomas the train! The shows themselves were great... although I would recommended putting a wine ( or in my case Rum ) stand right outside the doors for the kid shows. The place was packed both times... almost to the point where i started to feel a bit claustrophobic! The parking... unfortunately was 15$- highway robbery. I suppose it is to be expected though. Over all I will definitely be back for monster jam! But i will be hoarding my food in a huge bag... lunch there was ridiculously expensive! read more

I've gone here year after year for cheerleading competitions typically held in hall D and hall C. The halls are nice and spacious but the downstairs area we use to warm up smells awful year after year and definitely does not have the cleanest washrooms :( the staff seem okay but the food court options are somewhat disappointing and quite overpriced. The Edmonton Expo Centre hosts a ton of great large shows that come to the city. I've been to Comicon/Edmonton Expo and the Alberta Beauty shows, which both require multiple rooms. Each area is sectioned off for vendors to make a maze you follow but the place is so huge it's no wonder these events run over multiple days, so much to see. You need to walk all the way to the back of the building to get in initially but once you are in you can come in and out any entrance by flashing your wrist band. A few of these rooms are not just open spaces for booths to be set up. There are theatre style areas used to host fashion shows (Alberta Beauty) or in this case interviews with Carrie Fisher (Edmonton Expo)!!! Amazing. The food in the centre is always over priced and there is not a great deal of variety. The expo usually have some food truck options outside and that's the way to go! They really have large scale events down to a fine art and I was impressed with the running of this years expo in particular. Great vendors and amazing acts - job well done. read more

It's weird to get to, in a bad neighborhood and doesn't have covered connection to the LRT, but it's the only place in town that's big enough to hold a lot of the city's larger events, so we live with it. If the event doesn't provide you free wifi, make sure you have data, because you don't want to pay the downright exorbitant fees they charge for general wifi usage in the building. The general food concessions are unimaginative, (but the catering food is decent), and they don't give you much room to sit anywhere when you're on the grounds all day for events. read more

We also were left feeling that the primary job of staff is to find more ways of nickelling and dime-Ing exhibitors and show organizers! This is certainly a venue that has a large capacity. For many of the events though you are not permitted to bring outside food in and there are no healthy food choices. The food is greatly overpriced, especially for fast food fare. The parking is $16.00 which can make your three or four day event pricy on top of the event fee. The bathrooms are dirty and often lacking in supplies. I don't enjoy the venue and only go if the event is something I can't miss. However I think this will be my last year attending anything there now that they are stricter about no outside food. read more

I honestly don't have a star for these guys but I had to put a rating on anyways. I recently attended the entertainment expo at the center as a food vendor and found some shifty business practices. I rented my space off the event organizers, and had to pay a small commission to be allowed to participate on the grounds. the pdf asks for 24 percent of net income and the excel form they calculate commission from takes a 24 percent of gross income. which I am working now with the bbb in Edmonton to get resolved. I warn anyone wanting to work on the grounds to find out exactly what they are getting into as there seems to be some shady practices going on. read more

I went to the pizza 73 stand during k-days, there was a lady handing out pizza wearing a hijab, she was ignoring me, on her cell phone, when she looked up, she served other customers who were of the same culture, who were behind me in line, i had to ask 3 times for my order, she blatently kept ignoring me.
