Very nice aquarium with all kinds of local plants and aviaries, sea lions, capybaras and other animals. We took the vip behind the scenes access tour. The staff was friendly. The animals seemed cared for and looked healthy. I do wish we had more time to explore on our own, some areas felt rushed. read more

This was a fun way to pass an afternoon in Mazatlan! The building is massive and boasts some pretty amazing architecture. It truly is beautiful to look at and I can't wait to see how much more beautiful it gets once all the greenery starts growing in and getting more lush. The inside is really cool and is a neat mix of indoor and outdoor exhibits. It's got a real minimalistic vibe but I liked that. There are a couple of HUGE tanks filled with fish of all kinds, sharks, rays, and turtles. I have a thing for jellyfish and the jelly room was unlike anything I've ever seen before. The globe fountains were so cool and the exhibits on the wall really made you feel like you were standing in the tank with them. Outside we enjoyed the aviary and the bird show. We were not able to see the penguin or the sea lion shows but next time I'll definitely be checking those out. We came on a pretty slow day so we really enjoyed the tranquil grounds, walking the bridge and just enjoying a nice, slow afternoon. A great time, especially for the price. The penguin exhibit was fun. The penguins almost seemed like they were purposely trying to put on a show for their visitors. They saw us at the window, lined up in a row, and one by one took turns diving into the water. There are plenty of fun animals and fish to observe, and it was educational as well. Is the facility super modern and up-to-date? No, but it was still a very good experience! We stayed for a show involving seals, and everyone agreed it was the best aquatic animal show. There were seals giving high-fives, jumping through hoops, clapping, and more. Amusement park/zoo shows in the United States are pretty much the lamest things ever, so I almost did a hard pass on this, but we were very glad we gave it a chance! You do have to wait for a bit to get into a show. They assign you a group, and then you have to line up, but the line wasn't too bad (maybe 10-15 minutes?), and it was well worth it! read more

$20 USD / $15 USD for adults/kids seemed a bit steep at first but once we were past the gates it was well worth the money. Well laid out exhibits, clean tanks and a fun modern vibe. Docents spoke both Spanish and English which came in handy when we had questions. The bathrooms were awesome and clean. There wasn't a ton to see so I'd say it's a good solid 2-3 hrs max. If you need to kill a couple hours and get a break from the heat it's worth a visit. read more

This is by far the worst aquarium ever, is a completely reap off we pay $750 pesos per two. Once you enter you see this huge building, it kind of seems out of line. There's a few birds in a small dom, then you head to the aquarium. There's is only a few fishes in small little fish bowls with literally a few fish inside. There's no clue to understand anything, there's no labels explaining their breed, environment and so and so. Overall some one hit the jackpot with that Aquarium, but not the fish or the customers. read more

If I could give this aquarium a negative 10, I would. The aquarium is run down to say the least. The toilets in the women's restrooms don't all have seats. The aquarium itself looks like it hasn't been cleaned or maintained in ages. These poor animals are in improper tanks/areas and most of them look malnourished and some even had sores. There were several dead animals still in the tanks and it is dark, damp, and - to put it lightly - SKETCHY. Do not waste your money here. -10 out of 10. We paid roughly $16 USD and although that's not a lot of money, it still WAS NOT WORTH IT. We left pretty quickly after arriving. read more

I would certainly recommend visiting this if you are in the area. Unfortunately the locations are a bit confusing, where certain events are taking place/talks/etc. Some of the staff were not as helpful as I would have hoped and the timeshare gal at the booth that you walk past outside was busy tweezing her eyebrows. While I appreciate wanting to rid yourself of a uni-brow, really, in public? The exhibits are good, I enjoyed walking through the bird exhibits and being able to venture outside. They are upgrading the facility which is great, it's obvious that it's tired! read more
