He was always interrupting, telling stories and laughing at his own jokes. This guy did a pom pom cheer for me once when I did something outside my comfort zone. I am 40. That was humiliating and invalidating. He compared my experiences to other clients that he had. For example when I tried to talk a bout my anxiety issues he would tell me a story about another client who had anxiety and what it was about and how he helped her. Great. Except her anxieties were not the same as my anxieties. Anxiety isn't just the same across the board. People experience anxiety for many many different reasons. I could have overlooked that except he told me the story of this client like 4 or 5 times as if it was the very first time I was hearing it and again it had nothing to do with my personal experience. I could not listen to this man tell me that story one more time in an attempt to pretend he understood what I was talking about. Very nice guy overall but just wow.

Each time that I went for an appointment, I was made to watch a generic video about the benefits of chiropractic care and why it is important. I was also urged to bring my husband in to make the explanation of my care plan easier but I felt that it was so that they could try to "win over" another patient. I've gone to chiropractors before and I don't understand why some of them feel like they need to give to a slimy sales pitch to get you to come. To add insult to the slimy sales pitch, I was told after they took xrays and gave me a consultation that they do not take my health insurance so I was smacked with a crazy bill. My health insurance said there is no in network or out of network chiropractors, so I didn't think to check about if other medical procedures would be covered. I know the responsibility falls on me, but the staff could have also check when I made my appointment or when I arrived knowing that the consultation would incur high costs just from a customer service standpoint. During my second appointment, the doctor actually steps out and a billing person comes in to try to get me to sign a contract for my plan of care to the tune of over $1600. She says I can pay for it all at once, in two payments, or broken down into 5 payments... anyway you slice it, they want to make sure you will keep coming back because you pay upfront. I want to feel better, that's why I went to a chiropractor in the first place. But I left here feeling like all they did was try to sell me on the benefits of chiropractic care without offering me any relief for my pain.

She adjusts according to what you want and need. I carry a lot of stress in my upper shoulders and Maria worked hard to get the knots out. She also did some myofascial release on me which was a very interesting experience. She says there are many clients that come often for myofascial release and have had great results. The room is very well done and relaxing. She does a great job making the whole experience blissful and a great escape! Also, as a note, you will be required to wear a mask since Covid is still an issue. Maria wore a mask as well, so I felt very safe.
