I learned about Dr. Tony from Help Our Wounded (HOW) where I work in Delray Beach. We went to visit him one day to discuss working out a partnership as both foundations work with veterans....Having had excellent acupuncture before for my longstanding rotater cuff issues when I lived in Connecticut, and been very happy with the results as it saved me from surgery, I could tell after seeing all the NHL jerseys on his wall and speaking with him for awhile that he was a top notch acupuncturist! As things turned out, I got to experience his expertise a few weeks later after I'd played tennis for the first time in months without building up my rotater cuff with strengthening exercises first. Because my shoulder was in such pain the next day that it woke me up that night, I was very concerned that I wouldn't be able to sail in the big regatta a week later in Connecticut that I had planned my upcoming vacation around. I was very distressed when I called Acupuncture Zen, but they were able to fit me in and made me feel so calm and comfortable that Dr. Tony was able to insert double the amount of needles I can usually tolerate! The day after his wonderful acupuncture and laser treatment, I was pain free and able to travel and compete in the sailing regatta with my team...and, we won! You can bet I'll be singing Acupuncture Zen's praises to anyone who will listen - Dr. Tony is extremely talented, knowledgable, kind and professional. I have been suffering with back pain since I was a young teenager. I've seen Chiropractors, Orthopedics, and even pain management doctors. When I came in to be treated by Dr.Tony Willcox I was having trouble breathing and swallowing and was having severe back pain to the point that I could barely move. The consultation was very thorough. He checked my tongue and pulse and determined what was going on internally. He started treating me with the percussive massage machine to loosen me up. He then went right to the acupuncture. He had me lay face down and the first place he touched was where the pain was coming from. It only took him twenty minutes to have me feeling like new again. The experience was so enjoyable I came back for another session. This time I came for a relaxation session and that is exactly what I received. The acupuncture was first and it relaxed me so much-- I'm not sure if I was fully asleep but I know I was dreaming! What a wonderful sensation. I have never felt so inclined to write a review (either good or bad) until now. I won't bore you with the issues I have been dealing with but I was recently connected to Dr. Tony- an introduction I'll truly never forget. Like most people, I was always skeptical on acupuncture, even after trying it small handful of times. The second, however, I walked into Acupuncture Zen I knew something would be different. Tony's incredible energy and unbelievable education of this practice is really something admirable. I didn't even have to tell him much but after a quick evaluation he nailed it. The actual treatment was awesome- he explained what he was doing and why, which for a control freak like me, was very calming and informative. He left the treatment room and told me to "just zone out" which was actually one of very few times in my like I could and did! After I left the first session I was told to stick with it, which I have. Now, many MANY sessions later I have never felt so good in my life. I originally was seeking assistance discontinuing anti-depressants and finding emotional and mental wellness and so I sought alternative therapies through acupuncture. I went to Dr. Tony expressing my anxiety of coming off a prescription that gave me extra anxiety and didn't feel to help my mental state either. Tony is an absolute master. He starts the first session with a very detailed health intake form that covers most areas of physical and mental health. After one session, my symptoms had entirely cleared up. I felt more energy and I was not having pains in my feet or legs nor the other symptoms that went along with it. Acupuncture Zen is my new favorite place! Dr. Tony is amazing! From the moment I got there he made me feel comfortable, his place is so clean and professional! I went in wanting to get cupping done, and Dr. Tony explained that acupuncture would also be great for what I needed, I have a huge fear of needles and he made me so comfortable and it didn't hurt at all! The cupping technique was amazing as well and relieved all of my tension in my back, neck and shoulders! At the end of my session he laid me down under the crystal lamp and let me zone out for awhile which really rejuvenated me and gave me so much energy. I felt like I had just slept for 20 hours! I've been suffering with acute sinusitis and on antibiotic meds, a nasal spray and Clariton D. Went to Dr. Tony Wilcox' s office for my regular therapy for a damaged knee. The meds, combined with coffee had me shaking so badly, I could not hold a glass of water without it spilling. Dr. Tony took one look at me and said..we can fix this. Needles into all the stress and tension points,a period of relaxing and 20 minutes later, I was back to my normal self. Anyone who was not yet a devotee of acupuncture would be turned into a believer. Been seeing Dr Tony for about 18 yrs using his healing through multi alternative healing therapy's. I highly recommend his service. I stumbled upon Acupuncture Zen while visiting Delray for a conference. Pain in my shoulder had kept me awake at night for weeks and frankly, I was exhausted. Dr. Tony gave me an appointment and his full attention within an hour. I was more than impressed with his staff and his "whole person" approach to treatment, instead of just localized acupuncture. Almost immediately he could tell (1) where my pain was (2) what was causing it and (3) how to fix it. I'm happy to say that last night was the first time I slept through the night without pain in as long as I can remember. Dr. Tony is a very intuitive acupuncturist in my opinion. I felt at ease the moment I walked in and received his greeting. Of all the acupuncture treatments I have received, this was the most affective for my hip and lower back pain. His proficiency with the needles makes the entry of each one painless. I came to see Dr. Tony for my low back pain. Because of that I was not able to exercise. I could see very big improvement even after few sessions and now feeling completely pain free.
