I didn't have Dr. Wiebe although I have to say, I wish I did because she sure sounded amazing. I had another doctor who was also great, but I was not prepared for the pain. I had the anesthetic injected, which I didn't even feel, but I don't know what it did at all because I still writhed from the pain. Luckily, it only lasted about three seconds at a time - inserting the IUD and then perhaps cutting the strings after? Not sure why it hurt twice. It was the most shocking pain, but just know that it is temporary. Afterwards, my blood pressure went super low from the shock and I lay down for a while. Definitely bring someone with you! If I wasn't there with my mum, I would have felt very fragile and vulnerable. The doctors and nurses are all busy, so it's really crucial to have someone just sit with you afterwards. Overall, every woman's body is different so even though it was extremely & temporarily painful, that doesn't mean it will be the same for you. Some women can go back to work after, others are wiped out. All you can do is bring someone with you, have an advil and use the heating pack offered, and maybe ask for another form of anesthetic? Because mine was useless (unless it would have been even more painful without it... in which case I would have literally died not to be dramatic...). Thanks to everyone there!

The window was left open which made me nervous someone from outside could see. She then explained what the inhaler would do like just make you loopy and how to use it, she then proceeded to tell me that I was not allowed to talk the whole procedure which I found very odd. As I was inhaling it I started to get extremely loopy and could barely keep my hand on it because I started blacking out she then kept saying in a rude manner, keep your mouth on it! Three times mind you I was so out of it I started crying uncontrollably because I was terrified and I didn't like the feeling of not knowing what was happening as well as everything went black, I was under the impression I would still be awake and feel it, my fiancé said I kept saying ow and I'm sorry. When it was done I was told to get dressed and go to the rest room to relax, because I was so out of it I felt super faint and nauseous I couldn't stand up just yet, a nurse then came back twice in less then five minutes to tell me I needed to get out and go to the rest room. My fiancé helped me get dressed and at this point I was still crying because I was so out of it. I felt so rushed and that my wellbeing and how I was feeling just got pushed off to the side. I'm not coming back if this is how they are gonna treat people. It was like they were Herding people in and out.

This was my worst blood draw experience in 37 years. I've never had issues with needles or blood…read moredraws, but Rida Wang (ND) was remarkably inept compared to even the most mediocre phlebotomists and nurses I've encountered in the past. I thought it was weird that a naturopath was doing a blood draw, but figured she must know what she's doing if she's confident enough to offer it as a service and had a student shadowing her. Boy was I wrong. She took an unnecessarily large needle, dug and twisted it in my right arm every which way and somehow still failed to locate a vein while causing intense pain. I literally had to yell, "STOP!" She then switched over to my left arm and eventually managed to draw 2 tubes of blood, but not without significant discomfort. The veins in both of my arms ended up feeling like they were on fire and were heavily bruised. This was also the first blood draw where I've had someone take a pen to mark the corners of my vein so that she wouldn't "miss with the needle". After I complained about them on Google, Rida Wang sent a formal document to me saying that neither she nor her student noticed my discomfort, which I vigorously dispute. Are you telling me with your "20 years of experience", you can't even tell when a patient yells stop, that they're in pain? A true professional would have explained upfront that they weren't that experienced and either offered an alternative or asked if I'd be okay with them practicing on me. However, Rida Wang claims that she's a seasoned professional who has "over 200" blood draws under her belt. This really only made the matter worse because if she's done this over 200 times, then there's even less of an excuse to have missed the mark so terribly. The only solution they offered me was a complimentary 15 minute session with Rida Wang for the bruising -- but why would I want that from a person who couldn't even do a basic blood draw? The damage has already been done. How would a consultation help with anything? Finally, I have reason to believe they're withholding results for the blood test. It's been a month, and instead of simply delivering on the product I already paid over $600 for, they requested that I either sign a waiver or book an appointment with my original naturopath, Jean Wong. As my complaint is not about her, I informed the receptionist that I had no issues booking an appointment to get my results from her. They did not provide a clear response and instead said they were following up with the doctor for next steps. This seems like unprofessional and vindictive behaviour. Don't walk away from this place. RUN. I suffered at their hands and not only did I not receive an apology, I got a wall of deflection and gaslighting, completely devoid of empathy or accountability. Patient care is clearly not their priority here.

I asked him how sure he was that I could not get pregnant and he told me that he was "100% sure I could not get pregnant without invitro." I kept trying to tell him that the problem was that I did not make enough progesterone to sustain a pregnancy. (I had experienced the same problem while trying to conceive my son in CA and my doc had treated it successfully with progesterone and my old doc seemed to think this was a common problem.) Branagan was arrogant and said my doc was wrong and he refused to listen to me. He assured me progesterone was not the problem and the problem was my old eggs. Sure enough, two months after I stopped seeing Branagan I got pregnant WITHOUT his help. I started to miscarry (with heavy bleeding) due to lack of progestone (as I had suspected.) I called Branagan begging/desperate for him to see me since Bellingham OBGYN could not see me for 2 weeks. I begged him for a prescription for progesterone or for an appointment to see him. He said that if he had helped me to get pregnant he would have seen me, but since he did not help me get pregnant he would NOT see me and he could not prescribe progesterone without seeing me. I felt completely abandoned by this guy who was happy to take my money a couple of months earlier. Branagan refused to help in any way even though he knew I had been trying to conceive for 4 years. I felt like I was just a number and all he cared about was the $ he lost for IVF. If you are actually thinking about using this doctor be sure to ask him what his plan is for the day you do get pregnant. Getting pregnant is only the first step, keeping a pregnancy is just as important for many women who have problems sustaining a pregnancy. BEFORE you make an appointment with this doctor (or any other) ask them if they will continue to help you so long as you need it at the beginning of your pregnancy while you are waiting to establish your first appointment with your OBGYN. (I found out the hard way that OBGYN's here in Bellingham won't see you until you are 6 weeks pregnant, even if you are having problems like a miscarriage.) Thank goodness my General Practitioner was willing to see me immediately and she took my word and blindly prescribed progesterone suppositories starting immediately since she knew it saved my pregnancy in the past. It was completely out of her scope of her typical practice, but she was able to save my pregnancy and it worked! Needless to say, my lab tests for that day showed that I was RIGHT and my progesterone level was at 8 (which is miscarriage level) and not strong enough to support a healthy pregnancy. If I had not been able to see my General Practitioner at that very moment, I would have miscarried within hours. I kept taking the progesterone for my entire first trimester and I kept testing my progesterone levels for the entire first trimester, and luckily I was able to sustain a level of 36 for the remainder of my pregnancy thanks to the hormone suppositories.Phew! I am thankful every day for my General Practitioner, but I also wanted to share my story with other women so they know to ask the right questions. If you feel that your infertility doctor is not listening to you, then it means you need to find a different doctor. Now I have a very healthy baby girl who is amazing and I am so thankful for my General Practitioner who saved this pregnancy.

I wanted to try as much as I could before taking up my doctor's referral to a fertility clinic to start looking into IVF, etc... I am so happy to have found Jen. She taught me all about my cycle and how to track my different cycle phases. I learned that even though my ovulation tests were saying I was ovulating, I actually wasn't and we worked to correct hormonal imbalances and my cycle length to improve my chances of getting pregnant. I really appreciated this over the push to get started on infertility drugs since I wanted to try to conceive as naturally as possible. Once we started working on all that, my husband went in to visit Jen as well and found her treatments to help calm and relax the mind. I am so elated to have found Jen and my life will never be the same now! I am expecting my first baby in 2 weeks and cannot say enough about the helpfulness, knowledge, and calming energy Jen exerts. I am beyond happy and hope that others who are struggling with infertility or even other problems give Jen a try. Her calming nature and intense knowledge of TCM is incredibly helpful at calming our nerves when we're stressed out and helping overcome obstacles in our health when need be. Thanks Jen!!
