I can't say enough good things about this clinic and everyone who works there. My Mirena IUD insertion was done by Dr. Hall, and it was the quickest, easiest, and almost painless one I've ever had (this being my 3rd). I saw so many wonderful reviews before heading in here for my IUD and they really helped, so I thought I'd offer my two cents. I didn't have Dr. Wiebe although I have to say, I wish I did because she sure sounded amazing. I had another doctor who was also great, but I was not prepared for the pain. I had the anesthetic injected, which I didn't even feel, but I don't know what it did at all because I still writhed from the pain. Luckily, it only lasted about three seconds at a time - inserting the IUD and then perhaps cutting the strings after? Not sure why it hurt twice. It was the most shocking pain, but just know that it is temporary. Afterwards, my blood pressure went super low from the shock and I lay down for a while. Definitely bring someone with you! If I wasn't there with my mum, I would have felt very fragile and vulnerable. The doctors and nurses are all busy, so it's really crucial to have someone just sit with you afterwards. Overall, every woman's body is different so even though it was extremely & temporarily painful, that doesn't mean it will be the same for you. Some women can go back to work after, others are wiped out. All you can do is bring someone with you, have an advil and use the heating pack offered, and maybe ask for another form of anesthetic? Because mine was useless (unless it would have been even more painful without it... in which case I would have literally died not to be dramatic...). Thanks to everyone there! read more

I had an amazing experience at Willow Womens clinic. I needed to get my IUD removed and had suffered through a horrible failed removal a few months earlier at a different clinic. It was unspeakably painful and made me terrified for this appointment. I followed Willows protocol and filled out their paperwork online and waited for them to call me, which they did within a few days. The receptionist on the phone was very attentive and listened to my story of my botched removal appointment and was very kind and polite. She told me to come in an hour before my appointment time to take some pain killer and anxiety medication to help me through it. I did as I was instructed today and arrived with my boyfriend so I had someone waiting for me and would help me get home afterward. I hadn't eaten anything yet, so the receptionist said to go eat something and come back, otherwise the meds would upset my stomach. Half an hour later I was back and took my meds. She said to wait about half an hour for them to kick in and called me into my appointment when she noticed me getting a little sleepy and resting on my partners shoulder. The nurse asked how I was feeling and I told her I still felt anxious but I didn't think that would go away entirely. She brought me to my room where I undressed and waited for the doctor. Dr.M came in and was very sweet and polite and addressed concerns I had. Again I recounted my extremely painful failed removal and she offered her sympathy and said she'd do everything she could to help me through this. She performed an ultrasound on me, inserted the speculum and PAINLESSLY removed my IUD within 30 seconds of the speculum going in. I burst into tears at the immense relief, I almost didn't believe her when she said it out. She comforted me and offered some kind words then it was over. I walked away with zero pain and took a long drug nap by the time I got home. These people are experts and know exactly what to do. Look nowhere else if you are worried about your IUD procedure. read more

I was seen by two doctors there. Both of them were nice in their way. I'm not too crazy about the receptionists and their manners, but truth be told, they ARE really busy on the phone all the time, so I guess they're doing their best. I had an IUD done there. It's not the most pleasant thing to have to do, but they made it go with as little stress as possible. The doctor was pretty patient with my questions, she tried to reduce the pain, and was explaining what she was doing every step of the way. They also have a very nice recovery room where they let you relax for as long as you need to afterwards. It would be nice if their working hours extended into the afternoon, so I don't have to sneak out of work all the time, but what can you do... read more

I just had my copper IUD inserted yesterday, and here's my experience: The days leading up to it, I kept searching online for copper IUD experiences: posts, forums, video blogs. You can probably tell I was extremely anxious and terrified, and P.S., I'm the type to be afraid of needles. I ate three hours before my appointment, but just a bun and a muffin. Again, too anxious to eat. I pop my ibuprofen and hop on the bus. I arrive to the clinic on time, and had to fill out some forms before they called me in for a urine sample. After that, the lady gave me two types of meds: one for relieving pain down there, and two small pills to deal with anxiety. Let me tell you, after the pills dissolved my stomach was growling. All the anxiety of thinking about the pain from the copper IUD made me starve, so I took a few bites out of my fried rice, but realize soon after it was probably a bad idea. That's when I waddled to the reception desk, and asked if I should be drinking more water, until I suddenly looked wobbly and everyone at the clinic came to my support (I went alone). I was super loopy. They offered me a place to lie down until it was my turn. One of the receptionists came to check on me and talked to me about her experience before the nurse who inserts the IUD came. I felt no anxiety, I literally felt high, and when the insertion began the "pinch" that everyone was talking about was just the freezing of your uterus and it wasn't even a pinch. Think of it as two fingers doing a quick squeeze. The insertion of the IUD didn't hurt at all. The moment it was put in, it just felt like my stomach growled a bit. So I go to the little bed where I lied down. Not a single cramp but I felt dizzy from the medication. The heating pad there was awesome. The people were awesome. My friend who came to pick me up however, is also awesome but his driving was WHACK. Make sure you bring a friend who can drive like a normal human being and not a psycho, otherwise you'll be throwing up like me. (I didn't feel nauseous until he drove) Other than that? Went out and had some good BBQ. I'm one of the lucky few who didn't go through any pain or heavy spotting or cramps - even to the next day. Thank you Willow Women's Clinic! read more

There are definitely some perks to my experiences of this clinic. There is always little to no wait so I am in and out very fast. Thats always nice! Most of my review is not so good. I went to enquire about a copper iud and was given very little information. It was pretty much a, "so I am thinking about getting this because of this reason and this reason" and a response of, "yeah you could do that". I knew if I left not getting anything done I would never do it, so I asked if I could get it done that day, after being informed that the only side effect would be longer and heavier periods and possibly more cramping. After a 1 second phone call, I had papers in my hand to sign. The process was fast and slightly painful and weird. I felt no connection with my female doctor. She seemed very cold and unreadable. I certainly didnt feel cared about on an emotional level. I have since bled for 8 weeks straight, experiencing horrid cramps and one ordeal where I was in excruciating pain like I have never felt before for about 4-5hours and was contemplating going to ER. Myself and partner havnt been able to have much sex as I am either bleeding or in pain. I went for my 6 week check up and the doctor who was a different doctor to last time and a little more friendly but still very lacking in information, informed me I had a cyst. I asked if I should be concerned and she said no...okayyyy I went home to do research and found out that the copper IUD has many side effects including causing cysts and other infection that could lead to long term damage of fertility. I have read nothing but horrifying stories from people. I tried to call to ask some questions, left a voicemail and noone has returned my call. They always used to return my call when I was making an appointment that I would be paying for and now I need help, they seem to care little or none. I am contemplating getting the iud removed but want more information. I dont know if I should be concerned or not. read more

As a medical health care professional myself I just did not feel comfortable going there. I also have a friend who is an allied health professional as well go for an initial IUD consult appointment, she found the physician rude. I was seen by Dr Weibe. She was very lovely and definitely experienced. I would highly recommend her for IUD's. She made the process quick and relatively painless. This was by far the worst experience of my life at any womans clinic I've been to. My girlfriend was going through a lot of emotional distress due to a recent abortion she had to suffer through. After everything we were called back to the clinic to get a shot done not knowing this was gonna be an all day experience. We spent hours at the clinic going back and forth from doctors offices and scheduling ultrasounds. We just wanted this to all be over and they were extremely insensitive towards her situation. She had to meet a counselor even though she's already talked about this already and wanted to move on. They kept reminding us of what happened and we just wanted to leave. Wouldn't even go to this clinic to pick up free birth control. I'd rather pay every month then step foot in there again! read more

I found Willow Women's Clinic online by googling "IUD Vancouver", I filled out their online application form and the next day got a call back from a very polite receptionist who quickly booked my appointment for the following week. They gave me basic information about what to do pre-appointment (ibuprofen, bring a pad, etc etc) and told me to call them to confirm two days prior to the appointment. They actually were the ones to call me two days prior to the appointment to confirm anyway, even though I hadn't forgotten about the call back or anything - what I'm getting at is that they're on top of scheduling and very pleasant to deal with. The morning of I took 600mg of ibuprofen (3 advil tablets) as well as .75mg of an anti-anxiety to help keep me relaxed. My appointment was for 10:30 and upon arrival they had me fill out some easy forms and collected a urine sample - again, all very professional, friendly, and the environment felt comfortable despite my nervousness. I waited less than 20 minutes to be called in by the doctor, and she was happy to answer my questions before we started the procedure: I asked about chance of lowered sex drive, asked about possible weight gain, etc etc and she definitely put my concerns at ease. The insertion procedure took less than five minutes total - a quick ultrasound (painless) followed by the clampy-thing (painless) followed by a pinch from the numbing gel (painful) followed by maybe 15 seconds of the IUD passing my cervix (HELLISHLY PAINFUL) followed by one final ultrasound (painless). I admit to crying for a while and feeling very lightheaded/in a LOT of pain right after the procedure was finished, but the doctor was patient and very attentive, noticing that I looked quite flushed/faint when I stood up and asked me to sit down and wait a minute longer before standing again. They then took me to a nice bed by a big window where I was able to lay with an electric heating pad for 20 minutes to recover. I was given a glass of water by a friendly nurse and checked up on twice, and they let me know when I was free to head out. As advised, the appointment took exactly 1 hour from when I walked in the door to when I walked out the door. These guys are polite, considerate, very skilled at their jobs and I definitely would recommend them to anyone looking to have an IUD put in. read more

I'm writing this because I'm very surprised by some of the negative reviews and I wouldn't want them to influence anyone's decision to visit this office. I had my IUD insertion performed by Dr. Wiebe yesterday and had a great experience (well, as great as having a foreign object inserted in to your body can be). She is very friendly, competent and reassuringly guided me through the whole process. The office was very busy while I was there and filling out paperwork, pregnancy test, the insertion itself, rest period after and making a follow up appointment took less that an hour. To those complaining that the receptionists were not friendly enough: you're making a medical appointment, not calling customer service. These people are very busy, as evidenced by the fact that you have to fill out an online form just to receive a phone call from them. Were you able to make an appointment? Great! They did their job. As for those who are complaining about bleeding, perforation and cysts. These are risks associated with ALL IUDs that you would have known about had you done even a minimum amount of research prior to your appointment. These risks are associated with the IUD itself and will be present regardless of who performs the insertion. Overall, if you have decided that an IUD may be right for you do not hesitate to contact this office. read more

I went to Willow Women's Clinic to switch to the Gynefix-Mini. I was a bit worried about going in, as I already had the Mirena (with terrible results), so I had to get it removed before getting the other put in. When I got to the clinic, the ladies at the desk were pleasant, and asked for me to fill out a couple pages of information. They reiterated that the Gynefix is currently a study, to which I had to consent to. Seeing that Dr. Weibe has inserted a plethora of them, I was fine with that. After filling out my paperwork, they quickly got me in to see her. She was pleasant and professional, and while unpleasant, the procedure wasn't too terrible (it hurt like a bitch in the moment but I was immediately fine afterward). I'd definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a women's clinic-esque doctor. read more

I saw Dr.Mei-Ling Wiedmeyer and she was so sweet! Excellent bedside manner, polite and attentive but efficient. She's an MD but said she can only do women's health things at Willow, not able to be a GP (treat colds, prescribe for allergies, etc) Highly recommend her. I arrived 10 minutes early and was roomed within minutes. The room had a beautiful view from the 10th floor (through a curtain). I will be returning for all my women's health needs for sure. :) It's a bit tricky to get through to set up an appointment. There is no voicemail for scheduling appointments or call queue to wait on hold, so if you don't get through you just have to try again later. The positive experience was worth it to me. read more

I was recommended this clinic a few weeks ago. First I had to call about 15 times before someone picked up the phone, which I Also had to do when I was at work as it was the only time they took phone calls. (Note: only call after 9:30 or before 4 because they don't actually allow phone calls outside of that time despite the fact that they're open). When I got examined I got told "maybe" and "probably" for my problems. I found out from another doctor that I definetly have vestibulodynia. And then, the part that really bothered me is when the doctor I saw wanted to send me away empty handed and told me i should go to counseling for my mental health. Thanks. I've already done that before and already took many meds for my mental health. This was a problem about physical pain. I almost left the office in tears because I felt like I was told "it was all in my head". The clinic name is also uninclusive, because there are many non women who have gynecological health problems. On a positive note, they recommended me someone who is helping who happens to be in the same building. read more

I've read some mixed review of this location and I thought I should clear something up. You are an ADULT. Do your research before choosing your method of birth control. Second its not your doctors job to hold your hand. Your a big girl so act it. Personally I literally just walked out of the clinic after having my IUD put in. This was the first time I've had one so I knew it would be the most painful. I've never been pregnant so my cervix has never been dilated. If u want a step by step, here it is. -Email the clinic your info and phone number -They call you within 24/hrs -Set up an appointment. -Call or email them 2days before appointment to -Confirm. As they have asked you to do. -Take ibprophen or aspirin an hour before your appointment and remember to eat and drink prior. -Bring a pad with you -Show up (10min early) -Give urine sample and fill out paper work -Get set up in a room with your doctor and quickly go over any concerns. She warns you about the heavier period (first 3-4) and about more painful cramps -pants off, legs up, breath! -clamp clamp your done. Use a pad and walk to the "spa room" -wait 5-10min with water and a heating pack to make sure your OK, set up your 6 week appt and then leave. Personally I've researched and spoke to friends before I had my copper IUD placed and I can say full heartedly that even with mild complications Dr.Hall did a wonderful job and was very friendly. read more

Wow, what a horrible experience at this clinic. I used to go to the women's hospital clinic but its services changed a number of years ago and a friend suggested Willow Women's. I had to have my IUD changed in 2013. The girls at the front are friendly enough, as was the doctor I saw. (I can't remember her name but she's the director of the clinic.) She had another doctor with her at my appointment, who was learning how to insert IUDs. So they went through the process of, I thought, removing my IUD and inserting the new one. They used the ultra-sound at the end of the process to check the positioning and I was told they had good news and bad news. The good news was that the IUD was in the perfect position, The bad news? They'd forgotten to take out the old IUD. How does that even happen?? Because of the amount of pain I was in, I decided to see how things went with two IUDs. Unfortunately, it was too much and I had to go back a month later to have the two removed and a new one inserted. When I called to make my appointment, I was told I'd have to pay to get another IUD. It was quite the discussion for me to get them to pay for the new one since it was their fault that I needed it. In the end, they paid. Fast forward 2.5 years and I want the IUD removed. So, I went back again a few days ago. New doctor. After removing it, she asked if I had another method of birth control. When I told her, she actually argued that it was a bad idea and that artificial hormones were a better idea. I was only able to get her to stop harping about it when I said I've had friends get pregnant on both the IUD and the pill. So, basically, I won't be returning and I certainly won't be recommending them to anyone! read more

I am not sure how this clinic can do any better! I had a really good, professional experience here. They are very busy here, many people came and went during the time I was there - So keep this in mind when calling in and claiming they're rude or condescending. I think they multitask pretty well! The doctor was very helpful and polite and helped me with my questions/concerns. Unfortunately for me I actually passed out (feinted) right after the procedure ( I guess my pain tolerance wasn't very good mixed with the sight of blood). The doctor handled this properly and when I came to a few seconds later she was taking my blood pressure. Because of my incident I had to stay there under observation for about 30mins during which the nurses got me orange juice, covered me with the heat pad and checked on me periodically. I felt taken care of and thats all that mattered! read more

This place was incredible! After 2 unsuccesful attempts to have my IUD removed, i was referred here. They were able to get me in VERY quickly and have great front desk staff. The room i was put in was calming and relaxing with a beautiful mural on the wall and ceiling, including a forest themed mobile over the exam table. I had Dr. Hall. Her bedside manner was impeccable and her confidence put me very much at ease since i was very nervous due to the previous attempts not working out. She removed it with clear expertise and minimal pain. She also offered me a pap while i was there which was helpful. I would give this place 6 out of 5 stars if i could. Great experience! I just had my IUD put in at this clinic after an unsuccessful attempt at another office. I passed out at the other place, but no wonder when today's insertion was SO much faster then last time. Like a 10th of the time. Anyone would pass out if someone was poking around up there as long as the first doctor had been. The doctor and front desk staff were all so friendly and nice. The doc talked to me the whole time and made me feel really comfortable with everything. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because trying to call the clinic is a bit crazy. Busy signals for hours and my message didn't get returned so had to call back a couple times, but other then that everything was amazing! Would highly recommend this place to all my lady friends. read more

The doctors are great but appointment times are a joke. Both times I have been have waited over an hour for my appointment. Test results were mislabelled forcing me to come back and the appointment time I had booked wasn't actually booked. I was asked to come in 40 minutes earlier than when the appointment was supposed to be, yet it was over an hour and a half before I got in to see a doctor. read more

Doctor and most of the Staff were excellent, but the Office Manager made very unprofessional comments to me on the phone after my appointment. She literally asked me if I wanted my iud put back in, and when I said 'no' she said, "so you want something magic". It was very upsetting. By far the best experience I've ever had at a clinic. I went in to get an IUD put in after another clinic put the wrong one in the first time, then failed to get the right one in the second time. I was so nervous when I got here and really anxious about the pain so the ladies gave me pain meds and anti anxiety pills and waited to take me in until they actually started working. The whole procedure itself took between 5-7 minutes (compared to over 45 at the last clinic) with virtually no pain. Dr. Weibe talked and distracted me throughout the whole thing and then it was done! The ladies were all kind and proffessional and caring. In the future I wouldn't go anywhere else! read more

My overall experience with this clinic was mediocre - the Dr. was fine but was a bit pushy as I had a few questions about the IUD. The reception and nurses were my main issue - its like they are robots with one word answers to my questions. Not even a Hello, How are you today? No eye contact at all. I don't know if the overall moral of the clinic is down or if they are just overworked and hate their jobs. It felt more like an unemployment centre than a women's clinic. I wish we have more options. Also I would recommend to make sure you do your own research as they do not provide all the information a patient should require pre/post appointment. read more

I called Willow Women's Clinic to request an emergency IUD insertion. It took over an hour without being able to get through the phone lines, to which I then called the emergency line. Once the office called me back, I spoke with two receptionists back and forth, who each gave me completely different information. At first I could get the appointment today (as it's Friday and had been 5 days since the incident), then I couldn't, then I would have to wait two hours in the office, then the doctor was leaving at 12:30 and didn't have time for me, etc etc. Finally, when I told them I was spotting since being off the pill since June, they told me they wanted to send me for blood work first, wait for the results, then book the IUD appointment. LADIES, WHAT PART OF "EMERGENCY" DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND? The entire reason for asking for "emergency IUD" is so I do not get pregnant, which means waiting is not an option. When I said I'll call another option but gave thanks for their time, the girl just hung up on me. What terrible service. Thankfully, Everywomen's Health Centre answered their call promptly and booked me with an actual appointment time for today, saying my spotting is completely fine. As a Human Resources professional I am appalled at Willow's service - Time for a new team of office staff. I'll be telling BCIT Health Centre to start recommending Everywomen's instead. I had my IUD inserted here for the first time, and I was really afraid of the procedure based on what I'd heard from other people, but Dr. Wiedmeyer was really great and she explained the whole process to me, as well distracting me during the hard parts by asking me about my studies. The whole process was really painless, slightly uncomfortable, but nothing compared to what I'd heard, and by that evening it's like it had never even happened. Yes, the staff were very busy, but each step was explained to me and the entire appointment, though I was quoted an hour, only lasted around 15 minutes, including urine testing and filling out forms. I got my IUD inserted and I was so nervous. I called the day before to ask if my boyfriend could be in the room with me and what to do about my nerves. They were so accommodating with me and my nervousness. They gave me some drugs to calm me and some painkillers to help. All the staff were so gentle and nice. Dr. Weibe was phenomenal. She took all of 2 minutes from first to last ultrasound and I didn't feel a thing! I felt a bit lightheaded after but they have nice little beds to sit back in and they gave me a cup of orange juice to help me get my glucose back up. 10/10 experience and would highly recommend this place to get an IUD inserted. read more

I went to the clinic to get a Jaydess IUD placed, after an initial consultation at a different clinic with a two month waitlist. I was able to get an appointment within the week I contacted them, at around 6:30pm so I could go after class, and they promptly sent my prescription to my local pharmacy. I found the staff to be professional and easy to talk to. I was sent instructions on what to do to ease the pain before and after insertion. The doctor doing my insertion was wonderful, but on my follow-up appointment, I was with Dr Wiebe, the medical director, and I found her to be rather cold. When I entered the clinic, the doctor and a nurse were caring for a girl who had fainted (and was still at the clinic when I left 45 min later). It was nerve-wracking, but they assured me it was an unusual reaction, and my insertion went off without a hitch (it has been 11 months and it was the best decision I ever made). Since half the negative reviews here seem to actually be about IUDs rather than the clinic, I will say research the side effects and ask questions if you have concerns. The chances that something seriously bad will happen to you are very small, and the internet echo chamber makes it seem like so many more people have problems than actually do. It is up to you to decide if the risk is worth it. For me, it absolutely was. read more

After some bad experiences with hormonal birth control I decided to explore other options. I found out about IUDs and then found Willow Women's Clinic online. I called the clinic instead of filling out their online form and waiting for them to call me because I was worried I would receive the call during school and spent the next 10 minutes talking to a very patient receptionist who asked for my care card # and worked with me to suit my schedule and to make sure I had my period by then. I was scheduled to have my appointment for two weeks later and was asked to call again a few days before my appointment to confirm that I'd be coming in or leave a message. I was also given some instructions on what to do prior to my appointment: take ibuprofen, bring a pad etc I was happy I could have my consultation and appointment all at once instead of over the span of two appointments like I'd been told I would have to do by Opt youth clinics. I spent the next two weeks reading people's experiences on the iud-divas livejournal community and when there were two days left before the appointment I recieved a call from a restricted number. It was actually them calling me to confirm. I was relieved because I might have forgotten to call otherwise. The day of my appointment I took a tylenol and got to the medical building by taking a bus and then a skytrain to broadway city hall station and walking three blocks. I got there early and I was lucky I did because I spent at least 10 minutes going up and down the elevators trying to find the clinic (10th floor). When I got there I checked in and was asked to fill out some forms. In their waiting room one wall is covered in certificates for Dr Wiebe. It was busy and I watched as many women entered and left. Theres free wifi and you're free to use your phone unlike in another clinic I considered going to. I ended up waiting for 15 to 20 mins before I was called in for a urine sample and then pay $75. I was sent back out to the waiting room for another 10 or 15 mins before I was called back in. I was asked to take a seat in their resting area (some beds with curtains and heating pads) for a minute before my doctor saw me. It was not actually Dr Weibe but another female doctor who I believe also had a name that started with W. She asked if I had any questions which I said no to because I had done my research. I had never had a pelvic exam before so she gently guided me on how to sit with the stirrups and then we began. I made sure to tell her that I was still on my period at the time and she said that was great. She assured me that the procedure is more awkward than it is painful. She talked me though it. First she stuck a finger in and felt my abdomen and then put an ultrasound in. It just felt like pressure. Then she put in the speculum. I heard that this is supposed to be uncomfortable but once it opened up I barely felt it. She took a swab to clean me up and then she told me next I'd feel a couple soft touches but I didn't feel anything. Then she injected my cervix. I felt a few pricks but again there was no pain. Not like the painful needles I'm used to at the dentist. Next came the sounding which was uncomfortable. Kind of like how getting tickled can be super uncomfortable but isn't painful. I asked her if my uterus could be too small and she reassured me that as long as the right kind of IUD is used it should be fine. I sounded in at 8 anyway so no worries. Next came the dreaded insertion. At first it was similar to the sound but then it got kind of pinchy. I cramped up as it went into my uterus and it was one of the weirdest sensations I've ever felt. If you've ever been punched lightly in the liver than this was a very similar spasm feeling but I barely had time to complain before it was over. I'd rate it 3-4 on a 1-10 pain scale. Had another ultrasound and it looked good. The cramps that immediately came next were actually probably worse than the insertion. Felt like food poisoning cramps. I was sent back out to the resting room and I laid down with a heating pad as a lady there made me a follow up appointment for 6 weeks. I left quickly but I should have rested for longer because I became very dizzy and nauseous once I got on transit. In fact after I got off my bus I immediately threw up outside. On the bright side I felt 80% better once I puked. I took an ibuprofen, ate a little, napped for bit and woke up feeling much better. Just like normal period cramps by that point. My only complaint is that their website could be more organized. I had to go into their abortion section to find their calling hours and I don't think they actually have their opening hours on their website. Nor do they have the other doctor's name. I have two main complaints. Aside from dr. Wiebe, my experience with other two was terrible, they were rude, hurt me in simple examinations and did not wanted to answer my questions. They personal treatment was very dismissive. read more

The staff is extremely rude. It's extremely busy and the physician treats you like cattle. Moves you along without any real human compassion or pleasantry. The biggest complaint I would have to make would have to be about the front staff. They are either in training or always wake up on the wrong side of the bed because they are VERY short. Tiny smile would not kill them. Opt for another clinic if you have an option. read more

They hate their job. At least one of the front desk lady is. I know it doesn't matter what we say, they are going to be the same. I am surprise they are quite unpassipnate and condescending at handing sensitive and private matters. read more

Outstanding women's Clinic! The doctor I saw was phenomenal, office staff were very attentive, professional and caring. I was in having a complicated IUD removal and although there wasn't really anyway to get around how painful it was going to be, the dr who did my procedure was just amazing. I would highly recommend going to see these women. They are awesome. read more

Giving this clinic 1 star is generous. Dr. Ellen Weibe provided no information on the services and procedure she was performing, and when asked about aftercare or follow up appointments I was told to check the Internet for advise. Rude reception and over 1 hour wait time compounded the issues. For your health and safety I would suggest looking elsewhere for care. read more

Horrible experience at this clinic! First of all its always busy and overbooked and I still had to wait more than half an hour even though I had made my appointment several weeks in advance! The front desk East Indian girl was very rude, condescending and unprofessional. She seemed more interested in talking to her co-workers or looking at her cell phone rather than helping out the patients. I would never go back there again! I even called and left a message for the supervisor which has been unreturned for almost 2 weeks now. read more

I went to this clinic based on a friends recommendation as I was considering having the European IUD. Turns out that this IUD is not approved in Canada yet .. so they ask you to sign a waiver that there is a possibility that there is a possibility (very rare) they can make a hole in your uterus while placing the IUD. Sure enough it happened to me!! I thought it was pretty strange to have the patient sign something like that but did believe that it was rare so I signed. I went into the room and met DR ELLEN WIEBE also the director .. she was talking to the trainee all the time while operating on me and then suddenly became quiet and said that she is having trouble placing the IUD .. I asked her after she said that if she has realized that I have a tilted uterus and she said that she realized that now! So she tried 3 times inserting 3 different IUDs and then finally I felt a stabbing pain in my Uterus and asked her what was that and she said that she is not going to be able to insert it. Then she tells me that I have to take an antibiotic because its as if she had given me an operation. At that time I was the one to ask her, not her who voluntarily told me, if she has made a hole in my uterus and she said yes! Then moved on to explain to me about alternative birth control methods!! Of course I told her that I was not interested in that at the moment and would like to know more about what happened. She dismissed it and said that I will be fine. She refunded my money and I walked out of the clinic in disbelief .. I called my OB/G office to get an explanation. So my OB/G tells me to go back to her and ask her about how deep she went into the uterus and ask her for an ultra sound. I did and she told me she went 2. 5 cm into the uterus wall and gave me the ultra sound request. It healed fine, thank god but what a night mare!! read more

I have gone through this clinic for my first IUD insertion and speaking to other friends that have gotten their IUD inserted, I honestly feel like there has been some neglect that occurred. We are all adults here and I did a fair bit of research beforehand and came to the clinic with my IUD in hand prescribed by another doctor. I gave this clinic a 2 star because the procedure itself went smoothly and the doctor was really friendly. But I cannot get over how frustrating the clinic reception system is here. I had a lot of complications with bleeding and spotting since I got my IUD inserted and here I am 6 months later and still struggling to fix the problem. They have the worst calling system which does NOT even have a waiting system. If you call them within their operation hours, and they are on the phone already (which happened to me literally over 30 times), the calling system will hang up and tell you to try again later with no option to leave a voice mail. This makes it basically impossible to ask questions or book another appointment to come in if you have any complications which is EXTREMELY frustrating when you have no other clinics. Hence their online booking form to book the first insertion date, since they never answer their phone. On top of all this, I am from another province and in Vancouver for school. For all the ladies out there in the same situation as me, IUD insertions are covered by your home province health insurance as per my doctor I am seeing now. I had to pay over $200 out of my pockets with no warning and I wasn't about to fight the clinic on the day of my procedure. I was told by my doctor in Vancouver that it should be covered but I trusted this clinic to not be lying to me. Later, I found out that I can claim this to my home province health care to get it reimbursed so after ensuring the struggles of trying to reach them again, I finally talked to them on the phone and they persisted that the costs will not be covered since I was not from BC. I asked to speak to another receptionist at this point and asked her to simply send me a detailed receipt of my procedure which I manually filed to get reimbursed. All in all, isn't it the clinic's responsibility to ensure they have the right information especially when it comes to a procedure that will cost over $200 when it can cost the patient nothing? And the clinic NEEDS to get a better contact system. I have NEVER experienced such bad of a calling system when all I need is 2 minutes to speak to a real person. read more
