Also performed some arm movements. With much explanation he administered a cortisone shot to my shoulder. AS of right now I am pain free and extremely grateful to Dr Wodicka. This Doctor is a credit to HOLY CROSS HOSPITAL. Professional, knowledgeable, caring and compassionate. He has a smile on his face and one of the best bedside manners ever. In my case it was chair side. I would gladly refer my mother to him.

Live with it or go through an invasive costly surgical procedure. Also plan upon months of therapy and recovery. Having been the victim of a botched surgical procedure in my youth, I'm really thorough about checking into who my surgeon is going to be and the facility in which the surgery is going to take place. After checking out everything I made an appointment with Dr.Ross Wodicka and couldn't have been more delighted. He's not only a great doctor but real good down to earth guy who carefully explains all your options and matters involving the procedure. Matter of fact, because of my age being 74, he wasn't cut happy and really wanted me to know what I was going to be put through in order to recover and whether I thought it would be worth it. Well, because I was unable to lift my martini glass to my lips (that's practically the definition of very serious), of course it was worth it. I might also add that Dr. Wodicka is a sports doctor specialist with a fellowship in a well-recognized sports orthopedic institute. So if one can trust the multimillion dollar shoulders and knees of professional athletes to him, I think I can trust mine to him too. Anyway my surgery went just fine. Matter of fact incredibly fine. I don't even have a surgical scar, never needed any pain meds and now near 8 months later 90% recovered and doing exceptionally well.

Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Kessler was very different. After walking into the exam room, the first words out of his mouth were, "What do you want to do?" I was honestly surprised by that approach. My previous orthopedic physician had already sent over my records, and I spent a few minutes explaining my six-year history of successful knee injections and that I was not interested in knee replacement surgery. When I asked if he performed injections using ultrasound guidance, he told me he had done thousands of injections and didn't need ultrasound. I explained that I had experienced significant pain with injections done without ultrasound in the past and strongly preferred image guidance. He dismissed that concern. What disappointed me most was learning that, although my insurance covers the injection and I had confirmed that before scheduling my appointment, Dr. Kessler told me the practice loses money on those injections. If I wanted the injection performed by him, I would have to pay an additional $750 out of pocket, and it still would not be done with ultrasound guidance. I read many positive reviews before making this appointment, so perhaps other patients have had different experiences. I can't honestly comment on Dr. Kessler's surgical skills because I never reached that point. I can only comment on my own visit. I left feeling that my concerns and preferences were not taken seriously, and I did not feel comfortable continuing my care with him. Because of that, I will not be returning.

I have arthritis in both knees, which he scoped years ago and now I see him for routine maintenance. I.e. cortisone shots, sometimes Synvisc-One injections and annual x-rays. Luckily my surgeon was Dr. Moncman who specializes in.ankle surgery. So, things couldn't have gone better. Her surgery team was top notch professional and the anesthesiologist couldn't have been better, giving me nerve injections that eliminated any post operative pain. Dr. Moncman took her time with me, explaining every detail of the procedure in simple easy to understand language. If I ever break an ankle again, heaven dread, this is where I'd go.

Had an mri after surgery, and I'm in worse condition than prior to her performing surgery. Was told the mri "is a mess". Other Drs. have no clue what she did! Hate to write a negative review but the fact that I had to undergo the SAME surgery she botched is a nightmare. The pain, costs/thousands of dollars, swelling for over a year, quality of life wasted for over a year, PT was a total waste for several months and they also told me I was worse off after surgery, taking time off of work for this nonsense for several months, loss of travel, in pain just walking, all a horrendous experience. And she cut me double the length she needed to, so now I need a plastic surgeon. The cut isn't even straight, complete disaster experience. Thankful I was referred to an amazing surgeon who performed the second surgery and I felt better immediately! I have not been this pain free in over 2 years and his post-op care is likewise a radical change in what i previously endured.
