H&M in the Bridges is my favourite branch of H&M - last time I visited the one in Newcastle they…read morewere installing new lighting and making it look 'underground' and cool I came out feeling like I had been in a sauna, so would never ever visit it again! This branch of H&M stocks all the different lines including the popular 'Divided' young trend line. They have recently change the layout of the stop so that the Divided range and childrenswear is upstairs, and the ordinary ladieswear and menswear is downstairs. I do love H&M - although I find their trousers are never really long enough for me and the sizing of all their ladieswear generally runs small, there are lots of little bargains to be had by all. The childrenswear is particularly good value, especially the packs of tops and dresses which are great for the upcoming party season. All in all H&M clothes are decent quality, stylish, wash well and not too pricey so good for those of us who wear their clothes for one season then dump them at the back of the wardrobe!
I am unsure about how I feel on this store. I am 18 and I feel like the adult section is too old…read morefor me, but the teen section is not my sense of style. However, I do like the basics eg vest tops as they are good quality (last years) and are a great fit. I also love the accessories, I recently found a small hat with mesh, which was perfect for my Gwen Stefani fancy dress, I was so happy when I found it and have not seen anything like it anywhere else.
Triple S isn't in the Bridges anymore but is outside opposite Argos…read more The new location means a slightly larger shop and the clothes are always really decent, but quite expensive so I never end up buying anything. The changing rooms are a bit weird with a ragged cloth as a door, they need to tidy up that area a bit!
Triple S used to be my favourite clothing store when I was a 'tween :D they sell lots of different…read moreclothing for men and women I think their target audience tends to be teenagers and people in their early twenties. They sell branded clothing such as Bench, Roxy, etc etc and also some sporty gear for surfers and the like! They are quite expensive and often the forefront of the shop is mobbed by emo kids which is a little offputting (though I know they are harmless). The assistants are always very trendy and cool, usually of college age. They don't sell a great range of sizes - most of their clothing is aimed at 'average' sized people, i.e. sizes 8-16 in ladies. I don't think I have ever seen many great reductions on their items, but that could just be because I have never been in during sale-times. All in all Triple S offer trendy items for young people and sporting enthusiasts, though they are not my first port of call. I guess I'm just not cool enough ;)

My nana always buys her wool there as apparantly it is cheap. I still often go in there now to buy socks, tights and underwear for my kids. The staff are lovely and friendly and will put items aside for you to get later on. Well worth a visit as you can pick up afew special items at really good prices.
Eleven is a designer clothes shop…read more They have recently bought the rights to sell Stone Island, this means they are the only shop in Sunderland with Stone Island Apparel. They also sell Hugo Boss, Ralph Lauren and Fred Perry. The store is very spacious and has 2 floors. The building is very big and old with hard wood flooring, there are a lot of old cult pictures and merchandise decorated around the store.
Eleven is a premium clothing retailer which specializes in selling high end clothing. Many of the…read moredesigner labels Eleven sell are well known for their quality including Hugo Boss, Ralph Lauren and Stone Island. Although the items Eleven sell are undeniable quality the same can not be said for the lethargic customer service, their depleted stock levels and their online presence. On numerous occasions I have browsed their website, viewed an item I would like to purchase (with the website clearly stating the availability of the item including different sizes), only to find upon arrival to the physical store that they have sold out of the item, even though the website states the item is in stock. For example I wished to purchase a Paul Smith jumper, the website said the jumper was available in small, medium, large and extra large, however when I entered the tangible store Eleven only had medium in stock. I do question whether the relevant clothing is actually available in Eleven or just a marketing ploy to attract customers to buy other related items. Another issue I had was with the websites misrepresentation of their opening times. The website states the opening times as 9 - 5:30 Monday to Saturday. However based on past experience the shop does not open until 9:30, what poor service. In conclusion to this review I would recommend not using their online presence as an indicator on their stock levels/opening times, rather to phone the shop directly to make enquiries. For any potential customers interested in the world of designer labels purchase from reputable stores such as House of Fraser. Thank you for anyone who has taken the time to read this review.
