Their level of expertise is excellent and they're very responsive to any questions you might have. Their services don't come cheap but nothing good does come cheap. If you want cheap go to H&R Block or TurboTax but realize the person preparing your tax return probably isn't a CPA, more than likely they're just non CPA's that these companies put thru a course of basic skills and they just plug your numbers into an online program that spits out your tax return. If it's right you're lucky but if it doesn't you're pretty much screwed and may well find yourself having to deal with the IRS on your own. I've been an accountant for over 50 years and I haven't done my own tax return for more than 35 years simply because I started my own business in a different industry and I never kept up with the current tax laws but I sought out a CPA firm that I could trust to do the job right. This firm is excellent and I would recommend them for your tax needs. They're also investment advisers but I have never used them for those services so I can't comment on that end of their business. Again, if you want your tax return done correctly this firm is as good as they come but their fees aren't cheap but it's much more expensive to have to deal with the IRS if your return is wrong.

He says he has looked over the letter and says "Chris, it was 5 years ago, I don't have your files anymore, maybe our software was outdated and there is nothing that I can do or even know what to say to you about it!" I received a notice in 2024 from the NY State Tax Board regarding a penalty from 2021 that unbeknownst to me, I owed them. I reached out to R&M 8 times over the course of 3 months via email and phone to inquire about the notice. I finally received a call back from Raisa Fishman herself who had a terrible attitude right off the bat. She told me that per the contract I signed with her to prepare my taxes in 2022, that any future correspondence was not their problem and something they charge for. I told her that she at least could have given me the courtesy of a response, stating this. She must've felt badly because she went on to explain that the notice I received was something that had nothing to do with incorrectly preparing my tax returns. She prattled on about how she tells her clients that they may receive notices of penalty from the IRS but "no one ever pays attention to me." Never in my 27 years of tax filing have I ever received a penalty notice, nor is a warning such as that something I would disregard. She then flat out told me that the reason she hadn't responded to my numerous attempts to contact her was because I am not a current client. I was floored. I am honestly shocked at the unprofessionalism and disrespect I received. I cannot imagine why anyone would want to do business with this company.
